Young Bride in a Lightning Marriage: Never Tired of Mr. Leon’s Love

Chapter 575

Chapter 575

That was why Linus was able to stand out in the organization, earning the admiration of Daniel. His standing in the organization remained unmatched. Returning to the present day, Linus realized he had not really smoked his cigarette. It had burned down untouched, so he put it out and tossed the stub out of the car window.

Watching the distant figures of Lucy and Matthew, he felt a twinge in his heart.

Since the moment Linus was born, the word 'loneliness' had been permanently tied to him. No matter how many subordinates he had under his command or how prestigious his standing was in the organization, he always felt lonely because no one truly understood him.

If he could go back in time, Linus would not have joined the organization, even though the organization was practically another savior to him.

After separating from that little girl, he fell seriously ill and nearly died on the streets. It was Daniel's men who rescued him and brought him into the organization, saving his life. Much of his dedication to the organization over the years stemmed from Daniel saving his life.

Linus did not understand why his gaze had been glued to Lucy's petite figure all this time, nor did he understand why he cared so much about her. Perhaps that long-lost yet familiar feeling left him at a loss and unable to resist getting closer. Unfortunately, Linus' current target was her husband, Matthew.

A sudden sense of guilt washed over him, a feeling he had not experienced in a long time.

Linus felt a sense of urgency in his current situation. Being overly sensitive and hesitant would only delay him in completing the mission, which would not sit well when reporting back to the organization.

Just then, Daniel's call came through. Linus answered without hesitation.

"Mr. Zimmer, it's me, Linus. Is there something I can help you with?"

"Have you met Matthew?"

Daniel got straight to the point, indicating his urgency regarding this matter. He hoped Linus would speed things up.

"I just met him, but based on his attitude toward me, he doesn't seem easy to get along with."

"In that case, tiptoe around his

emotions for now. Avoid any

unnecessary disputes with him, or it could complicate future tasks."

"Yes, Mr. Zimmer. I'll approach him according to your instructions."

"Good. Keep me updated."

Daniel seemed hesitant on the phone as if there was something important he wanted to say, but Linus had already guessed what it was. He quickly said his goodbyes and hung up.

It was probably Gwen whispering in his ear, urging him to return to the organization and meet with her.

Linus felt that the less he saw Gwen,

the better. Perhaps this would cut off some of her expectations and reduce her attachment to him.

However, he underestimated Given's persistence. He simply could not understand why she was so relentless in her pursuit of him.

After ending the call with Daniel, another call came in. It was Gwen.
