No Bounds for the CEO’s Spoiling

Chapter 391: A Date That Is Unlike a Date

When Jian Xi woke up, she was still a little dazed. When she noticed that her head was actually leaning on the shoulder of the man sitting next to her, her whole body became stiff.

There was a fierce battle going on in Jian Xi’s mind: should she sit up or should she pretend to sleep?

Mu Ming quickly noticed that Jian Xi might have woken up, so he moved his mouth closer to Jian Xi’s ear. “You’re awake?”

Jian Xi felt that her ears turned numb.

Alright, he already knew, so she could no longer pretend to sleep.

Jian Xi pretended to move her head away as if nothing had happened and then she rubbed her ears. When she saw that she couldn’t understand what was going on in the movie, she asked in a low voice, “How long have I slept?”

Mu Ming moved his face closer, “Not long, only half an hour.”

Seeing that Jian Xi looked muddleheaded, Mu Ming felt that she was very cute and he chuckled.

Jian Xi was even more embarrassed. She raised an eyebrow and asked softly, “What are you laughing at?”

Mu Ming leaned closer and Jian Xi backed off involuntarily. But Mu Ming reached out and pulled her back.

Seeing that the person sitting next to her looked displeased, Mu Ming quickly said, “Sorry.”

Jian Xi also felt sorry, because she almost bumped into the person who was sitting next to her, and also because she and Mu Ming were quite close to each other.

The two of them could feel each other’s breath. Jian Xi nudged Mu Ming and Mu Ming naturally let go.

Jian Xi hurriedly sat straight and pretended to watch the movie seriously, but the plot was too boring to her liking

After a while, Mu Ming chuckled again and Jian Xi glared at him.

Mu Ming quickly held himself back from chuckling, but his eyebrows betrayed him, “I chuckled because I think you are cute.”

Jian Xi was speechless. How should she reply? How come she never thought that he was such a sweet talker before?!

Jian Xi felt that she could no longer look directly into Mu Ming’s sparkling eyes. Her eyes looked in all directions except where he was.

Jian Xi saw Xiaoxin was sitting in Mu Ming’s seat, so Mu Ming was sitting between Jian Xi and Xiaoxin. She asked, “Why are you sitting next to me?”

“I saw that you were about to fall asleep. And I was afraid you’d fall forwawrd, so I exchanged my seat with Xiaoxin,” Mu Ming explained.

Jian Xi was even more embarrassed. She fell asleep the first time they went out to watch a movie. It was embarrassing, but she still explained with a guilty conscience, “This movie is too childish. and I just so sleepy while watching it.”

Mu Ming smiled and didn’t speak again.

When she saw that Xiaoxin was completely focused on the big screen, and that she didn’t seem to notice whatever was going on between the two of them, Jian Xi let out a sigh of relief.

Later, Jian Xi forced herself to focus on the movie. Although the plot was so childish that she felt sleepy again, luckily she didn’t fall asleep like before.

When the movie was finally over and the lights lit up again, Jian Xi felt that she was saved and was ready to yawn.

Just as she was about to open her mouth, she saw that Mu Ming’s eyes fell straight on her face. Jian Xi forced herself to hold back the yawn.

Jian Xi still didn’t dare to look directly at Mu Ming, so she pulled Xiaoxin out of the cinema.

Xiaoxin was still immersed in the movie, and she couldn’t stop herself from talking about it. As Jian Xi did not watch the whole movie, she could only smile and nod at whatever Xiaoxin said.

Seeing that Mu Ming had fallen behind, Xiaoxin turned around and pulled his hand, “Uncle Mu Ming, the movie was awesome!”

Mu Ming rubbed her head, “Xiaoxin, I’m glad that you like it.”

Xiaoxin nodded and held Jian Xi with her other hand. This image of two adults holding the hands of a kid made Jian Xi wonder if they looked like a family.

Jian Xi was startled by this sudden thought and she hurriedly apologized to Qin Muxuan in her mind: Xiao Xuan, I’m definitely not after your daughter!

Mu Ming looked at his watch and asked, “Xiaoxin, what do you want to eat tonight? I will take you for dinner.”

Xiaoxin’s eyes circled around and quickly she answered, “I want to eat steak!”

Jian Xi objected, “Didn’t you just have spaghetti this noon?”

Feeling it strange, Xiaoxin looked at Jian Xi, “Spaghetti is spaghetti, and steak is steak. Those are two totally different things!”

Fine, Jian Xi was easily convinced. She was afraid that Xiaoxin would get tired of having western food, and she didn’t expect that she was still so into western food after she had returned to China.

With Xiaoxin around, of course, everything revolved around her, so they went to a western-style restaurant.

When the steak was served, Mu Ming naturally took Xiaoxin’s plate, carefully cut the steak into small pieces and put it back in front of Xiaoxin.

Xiaoxin smiled sweetly, “Thank you, Uncle.”

Jian Xi looked at the steak on her plate and suddenly felt that she had lost her appetite.

Jian Xi cursed to herself: Since when did she become so jealous? She was even jealous of a kid. She really had no shame.

Just as she was about to cut the steak into small pieces on her own, she saw that her plate was taken away.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Mu Ming took her plate and smiled gently, “I’ll cut it for you.”

Jian Xi instantly felt it so sweet as if she had knocked over a honey can in her heart and smiled.

Mu Ming cut it very seriously. Jian Xi couldn’t help but stare at him. His long eyelashes, and his tall nose, how come she did not notice that he was so good-looking before!

Her phone vibrated and Jian Xi came to her senses. It was a message from Qin Muxuan.

Qin Muxuan: How did it go today? The question was followed with an Emoji of a person raising an eyebrow.

Jian Xi: Not bad.

Qin Muxuan: Can’t you tell me more? This question was followed with an Emoji of an angry person.

Jian Xi smirked: Pretty good. We’re having dinner now.

Qin Muxuan: Xiaoxin didn’t get in the way of anything?

Jian Xi secretly rolled her eyes: Isn’t it too late to ask that? She replied without meaning it: No, of course not! Have you finished shooting today?

Qin Muxuan: I finished shooting. It went very smoothly, so I ended early.

Jian Xi: Then I’ll pick you up after I finish dinner?

Qin Muxuan: Alright, just take Xiaoxin over. You don’t have to pick me up. Without Xiaoxin around, you guys can have a proper date. And this message was followed with an smirking Emoji.

Jian Xi blushed when she saw the word “date”: Stop talkinng nonsense! We’re not dating!

Seeing that Mu Ming was still focused on cutting the steak and he didn’t notice whatever she was doing, Jian Xi felt a little relieved.

Qin Muxuan just replied with an Emoji of a person raising an eyebrow. Jian Xi felt like she was being laughed at!

Jian Xi: I don’t have the time to chat with you. I’m in the middle of a meal.

Consciously Qin Muxuan did not reply.

Mu Ming actually noticed what Jian Xi was doing. She must be chatting with someone on WeChat. The expressions on her face were vivid, as if she was both happy and angry.

Mu Ming felt a bit unhappy. And before he knew it, he had already asked, “Who are you chatting with? What are you so happy about?”

The moment he said that, Mu Ming was shocked. He sounded a little jealous.

However, Jian Xi didn’t think too much of it and naturally replied, “Xiao Xuan, she’s finished work. We’ll take Xiaoxin to her after dinner.”

When he heard that it was Qin Muxuan, Mu Ming’s pent-up feelings disappeared. He put the plate of steak back in front of Jian Xi and his smile became brighter. “Okay.”

Jian Xi looked at Mu Ming’s reaction and felt it quite strange.
