Oops, I’ve Been Exposed

Chapter 32 by Lorelei Thunder

Sasha stood rooted at the spot, stunned. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she looked very pitiful.

She suppressed her tears with all her might, but her voice quivered as she said, “Dad, are you going to disown me, your biological daughter, for the sake of this troublemaker?”

Despite his stern demeanor, Shane had immediately regretted his words the minute they left his mouth. But because of his pride and his authority as Sasha’s father, and also because he had to defend Woody, he couldn’t apologize to his daughter.

Shane was Woody’s father’s junior.

They were both remarkable and talented, and their school had placed extra importance on nurturing them.

Later on, there was an opportunity to stay in the school to teach. Between the two, Woody’s father was more experienced, so he was more qualified for the role.

However, he remembered that Shane didn’t come from a wealthy family. After graduation, Shane could only return to his hometown and be a high school teacher at most. His talent would be wasted there.

So, Woody’s father let Shane have the position while he and his newlywed wife joined the frontline scientific expedition team.

Shane was deeply grateful for that, and he had even met his wife, Mindy, through Woody’s mother. It was because of her that Shane and Mindy got married.

Their families had been extremely close, so when they received the bad news from the scientific expedition team, Shane immediately took Woody in and raised him like his own son. He had taken attentive care of Woody.

Shane felt that if he didn’t do a good job raising Woody, he would have failed Woody’s parents. It was exactly because of this that Shane tried his best to help Woody after the latter got into trouble.

The current situation was no different. If Shane had to choose between Woody and his own daughter, he wouldn’t hesitate to choose Woody. But it wasn’t hard to imagine how disappointed Sasha was.

“Shane, Mindy, and Sasha too, please stop arguing. It’s all my fault.” Woody stepped forward and said remorsefully. “It’s because of me that you’re all in a difficult situation right now. I had no idea about all this. Sasha was right. I am a bastard!

“But don’t worry. I’ll do everything I can to change this. I’ll make up for my past mistakes, and I’ll make sure you guys can live wonderful lives.”

He had already decided that he would buy a large house first. Then, he would get Shane and his family to move out of this place and into the new house. He would also cure their illnesses so that they could lead long and peaceful lives.

Shane had a contented look on his face as he said, “Woody, it’s the thought that counts. If we work hard together as a family, happiness will soon be within reach.”

“Exactly,” Mindy agreed.

Sasha snorted, saying, “Anyone can make promises, but not many can fulfill them. I’m not looking down on you, but you have a criminal record. You can’t possibly get a decent job with that.

“Don’t tell me that you’re trying to get help from the Yorks. Even if you succeed because of them, that’s not real talent. I despise men who depend on women to succeed.”

Woody said with a serious expression, ” Don’t worry, Sasha. That won’t happen. I’ve already divorced Pamela.”

“Huh?” Sasha’s eyes widened. It was clear that she hadn’t expected that, so she hastily looked to her parents for confirmation. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

There was something Mindy had hidden from Woody and Shane. On the night before Woody and Pamela’s wedding, Sasha had locked herself in her room and cried for the whole night. So when Sasha attended the wedding the next day, her eyes were still red and swollen.

Sasha had liked Woody from a young age, and Mindy had known for a while. She simply didn’t expose Sasha out of consideration for her pride. When Mindy saw Sasha’s reaction, she couldn’t help but worry that old flames were being rekindled.

Shane nodded gravely and said hesitantly, “Indeed, they are divorced!”
