Chapter 110
Chapter 110 Finding Herry
Emily remained silent, and Jackson furrowed his brow. He was about to retort when Emily tugged at his sleeve.
She shook her head, signaling for him not to confront Logan Morgan over such a trivial matter.
Despite Logan Morgan's conservatism, he was a renowned designer. If their relationship soured, Logan might target Allen Parker's company, and that would be problematic.
Grace intervened with a smile, "Let's not talk like that, dear. Emily is a good girl; she couldn't have such thoughts. Come, Emily, please have a seat."
"I'll stand," Emily replied, glancing over at Sophia seated next to Logan Morgan. She spoke softly, "Herry ran into the haunted house alone. He refused to leave with me. Since he dislikes me so much, I had to come out and find you." Sophia was taken aback. "Me?"
"Yes," Emily said. "You see, Herry has always disliked me. No matter what I say, he won't come out with me. That's why I came to find you."
Recalling the unpleasant memories from in the haunted house, Sophia hesitated. She looked to Grace for help.
Grace urged, "How did Herry end up going in alone? Sophia, please go and find him. Nathan, accompany her."
Logan Morgan stood abruptly, his face darkening as he fixed his gaze on Emily. "How could you let Herry go in alone? What if something happens to him? Are you prepared to take responsibility?" Emily had anticipated Logan Morgan's anger when she arrived, so she wasn't surprised.
"I'm sorry. I should have taken better care of Herry."
Logan Morgan stared at her for a moment, visibly impatient. "Find my son quickly. Sophia, please go and get your brother. He must be scared in there alone."
Reluctant to go back inside, but reliant on Logan Morgan's support, Sophia couldn't refuse him.
Grace gave her a meaningful look.
Sophia understood and nodded. "Okay, I'll go get Herry. Nathan, are you coming with me?"
"You go ahead. I'm feeling a bit unwell and need to rest."
Grace looked at him, surprised. "Nathan, what's wrong?"
Nathan replied nonchalantly, "It's probably just the heat. I'll rest for a bit."
"Do you need to go to the hospital?"
Nathan glanced at Emily briefly, then quickly looked away. "I think I'll go to the hospital. After we're done here, Jackson, please take the Morgans home."
Jackson instinctively felt Nathan
was up to something. He declined,
"My car is a sports car with only one passenger seat. Why don't you take the Morgans home? I'll take your fiancée and Herry." NovelDrama.Org
Although the arrangement seemed harmless, there was an unspoken contest between the two men. Everyone except Logan Morgan seemed aware of it. Nathan chuckled lightly. "Are you staying to chauffeur Emily?"
"Emily is my employee; of course, she'll be leaving with me after work. Is that okay?"
Nathan's expression darkened, and he remained silent.
Grace quickly devised another plan, "Nathan, go to the hospital first. We'll take a taxi home later."
Nathan agreed without objection, "That's fine. I'll leave now."
Logan Morgan was displeased with Nathan leaving early; his expression grew dark.
Grace smiled warmly, "You should hurry to the hospital. Sophia, go with him to the hospital. I'll go find Herry. He'll surely come out with me."
This angered Logan Morgan. "Grace, this is absurd! Nathan came with us to the amusement park today, and now he's leaving alone, and we're supposed to take a taxi back by ourselves?" en NovelDrama.OrgContent is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Grace smiled gently, "We should try to understand him."
"Understand him? My son is
missing, and no one cares about my son!" Logan. Morgan slammed the table in frustration. "Jackson, go- with Nathan to the hospital. Whoever lost Herry should be the
one to find him and bring him back tome!"
Logan Morgan's implication was that Emily needed to find Herry.
Emily had no objections.
However, Logan Morgan worried that Herry might not want to come out with Emily, so he instructed Sophia, "Sophia, go with her. Herry likes you; he'll listen to you." Sophia could only agree. "Okay, Dad, don't worry. I'll bring Herry back."
Logan Morgan sighed in relief. "Good, I knew I could count on you." Sophia smiled and approached Emily. "Shall we go in together?" Emily nodded and replied, "Let's go."
