Please Come Back, Honey!

Chapter 79

Chapter 79

Chapter 79 Emma refused to argue with a drunk man, but he just would not let her go. He kept pushing her for an answer. “You still haven‘t given me a reason.” Emma gave him a questioning look. Harassing a lady is not like him, and I‘m his e.t–wife. His cycs were as mysterious as ever, and she could not see through him. She chalked it up as a drunken episode. “You want a reason?” She gazed at him. “Fine, I‘ll give you one.” Trevor paid full attention to her. She calmly said, “I don‘t want to get involved with a married man unless it‘s work–related, so I don‘t think I have to accept your friend request.” Trevor did not think he was married. He let anger get to his head, and he cursed, “Who are you f*cking calling a married man?” She smiled at him quietly. You, obviously. You know Crystal has been window shopping at wedding gown boutiques and jewelry stores. I tven got on trending. And news said you guys are getting married soon, so you‘re a married man. For some reason, Crystal only told the reporters that she was just window shopping every time they congratulated her. She denied that it was for Trevor or the wedding. She would have happily said it was for the wedding in the past, but her denial meant nothing to the public. Nobody would go around these shops if they were not getting married soon. He tightened his hold on her. His face fell, and he denied, “We are not getting married.” Emma answered calmly, “You guys haven‘t gone through the process, but you like her, so you‘re already a married man. At least to me you are.” Trevor felt like screaming at her. What kind of logic is that? I‘m not even married yet. You can‘t call me a married man! He was about to say something, but then she smirked. “Looks like the men in your family love to cheat, huh?” She could not comment on his grandfather‘s past, since she had no idea what he had gone through. However, she knew his father cheated a few years ago, and Trevor got into a few scandals with Crystal when he was married to Emma. He was getting married to Crystal soon, and yet he was harassing his ex–wife. If this is not cheating, I don‘t know what is

Trevor sobered up a little, and he let her go. He did not expect her to use that against him. He thought he was the only one who could be condescending toward her family, but the tables were turned now. His father‘s affair was an embarrassment for him. Emma shoved him away while he was distracted, then got in the car and left. She knew it was low of her to attack his family in an argument, but she had blurted it out in the heat of the moment. She was angry at him for being so unreasonable and selfish. What was he thinking, hugging me in public? If Crystal finds out, I‘ll be a homewrecker! Crystal might have destroyed her marriage, but Emma was better than thai. She would not allow herself to stoop so low. After the divorce, she stayed as far away from Trevor as she could, but what he just did might ruin her effort. Trevor saw the yellow cab off, and his face fell. Emma took Cerys to her bedroom. She was about to make something to sober her up, but then Cerys hugged her and cried on her shoulder. Emma was shocked. Ever since she befriended Cerys after the marriage, she had always been a calm, rational, and resilieni lady. She had never seen her cry. “What‘s wrong, Cerys?” Emma was worried. Cerys sobbed. “It‘s so painful falling for someone out of my league, Emma. It‘s so painful.” That struck a chord with Emma. She looked down at Cerys and mumbled, “Yeah, it is.” Cerys kept crying. Her tears drenched Emma‘s shirt, and she could feel Cerys‘ agony. She gently assured her, “He might be out of your league, but it would be easier if he loved you too.” Al least it‘s better to face everything as a couple than having your love unreturned. Cerys laughed. “No, no way. There‘s no way he loves me.” She sounded dejected and forlorn. “All he ever does is tease.” Emma sighed. “Lie down. I‘ll make something to sober you up.” She did not ask for a name. The experience was already painful enough, so she stopped saying anything. She did not wantCerys to wake up feeling awkward. No wonder she got herself drunk. So il‘s for love. That‘s probably the only thing that could turn a smart woman into a fool. Susanna called her not long after she settled Cerys down. Susanna angrily said, “Did you see Zola‘s tweet?”

“No. Why?” Emma spent most of her time working. She seldom scrolled Twitter. Susanna answered, “She reposted a video on her Twitter. It‘s a clip of her interview. She said every industry has its own dark secrets, including script writing. She said it‘s supposed to be a place where people climb the ranks with their own talent, then she said someone only got this far because she’s pretty enough to sleep with everyone. She‘s obviously talking about you!” Emuns was a lot calmer than Susanna was. She didn‘t name and shame. Relax.” Susanna snorted. “I‘ll tear her apart if she does that.” Emina laughed. “Don‘t tear anyone apart. Violence is not the answer.” Susanna was a great friend. She would help Emma out whenever she needed it, and Emma knew it. Still, they could do nothing about Zola‘s snarky comment. I can‘t throw shades at her on Twitter like she did, can I? I‘d raller write than engage with trolls. I want this script to move along now. Susanna said, “I think she‘s starting to attack you now. Be careful.” “Yeah, I‘ll try not to get in touch with her and stay out of any argument.” Emma thought it was weird. She thought she was ordinary enough. This was her first time working as a main scriptwriter after being in the industry for four years. So why is she jealous of me? Just because Wesley wanted me to do this script instead of her? Just because she didn‘t get her dream script?Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
