Chapter 181 The Past of Kian

Chapter 181 The Past of Kian

This evening, Antonio didn't get the information he wanted from Olivia, but he felt that he had gained a

lot.

Although he didn't get any clue from Olivia, he found that Olivia was in fact a rare talent.

The so-called talents were not only someone with extraordinary professional ability or high academic

qualifications. For a top elite like Antonio, perhaps a loyal subordinate was the best talent.

And he found some excellent qualities in Olivia today. At least those were excellent qualities for him.

When he chatted with Olivia, Antonio really somewhat wanted to employ him. He felt that he didn't

mind not knowing the truth of the skin care product incident if he could recruit Olivia. Moreover, he

could not only get clues from Olivia, but also could get information from other women who came to the

Baron Group to make trouble.

Although he failed to get the information he wanted last time he met with them, Antonio didn't care. As

long as he gave more money, those women would finally give him clues.

Moreover, if he could really employ Olivia, presumably, Olivia would tell Antonio everything he knew

unreservedly.

Antonio even had dinner at Olivia's home. This surprised Olivia a lot. After all, he didn't treat Antonio

kindly when they were outside his home.

Besides, how could rich people like Antonio be used to their food?

Antonio looked at Olivia meaningfully before leaving.

In the next few days, Antonio didn't have much work to do every day, which made him feel bored. He

even had the idea of going to find Olivia again.

However, he also knew that haste makes waste. It took power and opportunity to recruit people like

Olivia.

This morning, Antonio was sitting in his office reading today's newspaper when Oscar suddenly came

in from outside.

"Mr. Antonio, I've sent a lot of people to investigate Kian these days according to your instruction. He

has done a lot of illegal things, the most serious one of which happened in last year when he robbed a

girl and was arrested by the police."

Oscar paused and then continued to say, "However, on the day when the judge pronounced sentence,

that girl suddenly retracted her testimony and said that Kian didn't robbed her. She claimed that they

were just having fun at that time."

Antonio crossed his hands and put them under his chin, "Did he escape punishment by it?"

Oscar nodded, "The police didn't have sufficient evidence because that girl suddenly retracted her

testimony. No matter why that girl retracted her testimony and however far-fetched the reason was,

Kian was finally released without charge because of lack of evidence."

"Is there something fishy about this?" Antonio frowned.

"Yes. Our people have found out that the girl retracted suddenly because she was threatened by Kian's

friend who was a gangster and she received money. She only retracted because Kian's friend took

carrot-and-stick approach."

After saying these words, Oscar put on a smile, "But don't worry, Mr. Antonio. We've succeeded in

persuading the girl, and she decided to testify again."

Antonio didn't ask questions about it. He could guessed that Oscar either had spent a lot of money or

had ensured the safety of the girl and her family.

Antonio was not interested in knowing these things.

After looking at Antonio's expression and seeing nothing wrong, Oscar continued to say, "Last night,

Kian was again caught by the police for stealing things, but what he stole isn't expensive. So I estimate

he'll only be detained for a few days. Mr. Antonio, do you think we should take advantage of this

chance and..."

"Ok." Antonio agreed before Oscar could finish his words.

"It's up to you to handle this matter. The company will reimburse any expense incurred." Antonio

added. He was trying to trust Oscar.

During this period of time, Antonio had dealt with a lot of tricky businesses. However, when a person

skated on thin ice, it was inevitable that he would have a feeling of losing his grip. He also wanted to

really cultivate some people he could trust to help him.

A few days later, Oscar told Antonio that Kian had been put into detention house. Besides, the former

case of robbery was once again mentioned by the police because of what he did. Barring accidents,

Kian would be put into prison for at least a few years.

Antonio was very satisfied with it.

In the afternoon, Adelaide was much relieved after Antonio called to tell her that he had handled the

matter about Kian well and she didn't need to worry about it.

Antonio was still busy in his company. Adelaide didn't have a good mentality to face him now.

Therefore, she felt more relaxed when he was busy and worked overtime.

These two days, Alvin often called her. Adelaide was a little afraid. She was worried that Alvin would

know that she had formed alliance with Alvin and had stolen his document. Besides, she was painful

because of the harm he had done to her and she couldn't forget the harm he had done to her.

She was in inner conflict and didn't know what to do. At this time, Hanna called and asked her to go out

for dinner. She said that there was a newly opened restaurant, the chef of which was French and

specialized in French cuisine. Every day, many people came to this restaurant to have a meal, and

these people were also attracted to this restaurant by its reputation. Adelaide agreed as soon as she

heard it.

At sunset, there were sunset clouds in the sky. When it was not hot, it was already six or seven o'clock

in the afternoon. Adelaide came to the appointed place. As expected, there was few parking spot left. It

took Adelaide a long time to find a parking spot in a corner.

Today, she was dressed in a pink dress with a low neckline, showing her white slender neck. The

sleeveless design showed her figure, which was perfect no matter seen from which angle. The retro

bandage was beautiful and elegant. It didn't need to be tailored and could be adjusted to fit the figure.

She was carrying a pink bag in her hand, matching her dress. She wore a little makeup, looking more Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

youthful and lively.

She wore pair of silver pointed high-heeled shoes. Seeing Hanna who was sitting at a table, she smiled

and waved to her, and walked to her like an otherworldly fairy. Customers around all looked up at her.

Fortunately, it was a high-end restaurant. Customers here might not have seen a lot of beauties, but

they must have seen some. Therefore, Adelaide didn't create much disturbance. When she walked to

Hanna, everyone stopped looking at her in tacit and continued to whisper to people who had a meal

with them.

"Wow, a young married woman has become a beautiful woman!"

Hanna laughed and teased her. Adelaide always created a lot of disturbance when she appeared in

public places. Hanna was used to it, and she could even get a lot of benefits from it. When they were in

school, their classmates argued over whether Adelaide was the most beautiful girl in school.
