Layla and Nolan climbed down the stairs hand in hand. She looked so stunning like a goddess.

Besides, it was her big day. The day she would be crowned Luna.

The hall was filled with people of different dignitaries. They all held a happy look on their faces.

Layla could feel the eyes of the crowd on her as she and Nolan made their way down the stairs. She tried to keep her head held high and her smile in place, but she couldn’t help but feel a little overwhelmed by the situation.

She knew it was an honor to be crowned Luna, but it was also a bit nerve-wracking to be the center of attention like this. Still, she tried to put on a brave face and enjoy the moment.

After all, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“What was the surprise you talked about?” She asked Nolan. Maybe conversing with him would make her calm down a little.

“Be patient..” the corner of his lips curled up.

Layla bit her lip to keep from smiling too widely. She loved the mischievous look on Nolan’s face, and she couldn’t wait to see what he had in store for her. She trusted him completely, and she knew that whatever it was, it would be amazing.

“Okay, I’ll try to be patient,” she said, a twinkle in her eye. “But it’s hard when you’re keeping me in suspense like this.”

“That’s part of the fun,” Nolan said, a playful glint in his eye.

As they claimed down the stairs, she saw Malcolm and his family waiting for her with smiles on their faces. They looked a lot better than the last time she saw them.

Malcolm and his family stood in a line, beaming at Layla as she approached. They looked healthier and happier than they had in a long time, and it was clear that they had been making an effort to improve their lives since their last encounter.

Layla was pleased to see the progress they had made, and she felt a sense of satisfaction in knowing that she had played a small part in their transformation.

As she neared them, Enid stepped forward to greet her. “Your highness, it’s so wonderful to see you again,” he said, his voice full of warmth as they all bowed ti Layla and Nolan.

“Me too..” Layla smiled back at them.

“How are you doing?” She asked looking around them, someone seemed to be missing.

“My grandma wanted to get here, but the doctor suggested that she get some quality rest” Millie chimed in, after sensing that Layla might be searching for her grandma.

“Oh, I understand,” Layla said, her heart going out to Millie’s grandmother.

“I’m sure she’s doing everything she can to get well soon. Please give her my best wishes.”

“I will,” Millie said, giving Layla a grateful smile.

“Thank you for being so understanding. It means a lot to us.”

“Of course,” Layla said, feeling a swell of affection for this family.

“You’re like family to me, and I want what’s best for all of you.”

“I see Malcolm is really doing well…” Enid laughed. “Thanks for inviting us your highness..” Enid appreciate.

“You’re welcome. Please feel free and enjoy yourselves..” she motioned for them.

Layla was about to turn to another direction when she heard her name.

“How do you like you surprise?” Nolan smirked as Layla gasped in surprise, she felt so happy.

So that was the surprise Nolan was talking about. He invited Aurora to the pack.

Layla’s eyes filled with tears as she rushed to embrace Aurora.

“Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you’re here!” she exclaimed, hugging her tightly.

Aurora hugged her back, and when they finally pulled apart, she was beaming. “I couldn’t miss this for the world!” she said, her eyes shining.

“You’re going to make a wonderful Luna.”

“You really think so?” Layla asked, a mix of nerves and excitement bubbling up inside her.

“I know so,” Aurora said, her voice full of conviction. “I’ve never seen you more radiant”

“I mean look at you” Aurora fawned as she took a look at Layla’s dress.

“Your dress is fire and pregnancy sure suits you a lot. You look dashing and you’ve grown more bigger. Oh my baby, how have you been?” Aurora hugged Layla again not minding that they were in the midst of a lot of people..

Layla felt a rush of warmth at Aurora’s words. She knew she had changed a lot since she had become pregnant, but it was nice to hear it from someone else.

“It’s been a journey, but I’m feeling really good now,” she replied, smiling.

“I know right ” Aurora giggled.

“I was so surprised when Xander showed up at my doorstep..” she laughed as she remembered as she wanted to slam the door on his face but then he mentioned that he would like to take her to pack.

She didn’t even know when she jumped on him happily.

Layla laughed, imagining the scene.

“I can just imagine how surprised you must have been! And then you couldn’t resist the chance to see your best friend again” Layla teased.

“By the way, where’s Xander? I haven’t seen him around?” Layla asked feeling very happy. She couldn’t wait to see him.

“He’s around somewhere,” Aurora replied, glancing around the room.

“I’m not sure where he is, but he was definitely here.”

Layla scanned the room, trying to find his familiar face in the crowd. “I hope he hasn’t gotten himself into any trouble,” she half-joking.

Aurora laughed. “Knowing Xander, he’s probably in the thick of it. He’s never been one to stay out of trouble for long.” The both laughed.

“Talk of the devil..” Layla giggled as she saw Xander approaching them.

Xander sauntered over to Layla and Aurora, a mischievous grin on his face.

“Hello, ladies,” he curtsied, giving them both a wink.

“I hope you’ve been having a good time.”

“It’s been lovely,” Layla responded, smiling at him. “Though I have to say, it’s even better now that you’re here.”

“Flattery will get you everywhere,” Xander laughed.

“But it’s good to see you too, Layla.” He uttered she softly.

“Me too..”

“Where Nolan?” Xander asked looking around.

“He must be around..” Layla replied.

“Alright, see you soon, my Luna..” he bowed playfully as he walked away.

Everywhere was filled with laughter, everyone was happy, except one person of course. She wished deep within her that everything would come to ruins.
