CHAPTER 147

“Car…la.. you…” Layla stuttered short of words as she pointed at Carla who was standing in front of her. Alive. The last time she heard about her, was her death and a funeral was held for her.

Then how come Carla was standing in front of her?

Was Carla the one who took Noelle away? It couldn’t be… But then Layla remembered that Carla was her only enemy in the past. The one that wanted her dead!!

“Carla?” Layla called again, her voice barely above a whisper. “But… I thought… you were…”

She trailed off, unable to finish the sentence.

Everyone had always thought that Carla had died in a car accident, but now she was standing right in front of her. Layla felt like she was in a dream or a nightmare.

“Carla..” Nolan called with uncertainty in his voice. He was going to kill her for real this time if she had something to do with the abduction of his daughter.

“Hi, baby. Missed me?” She blew a kiss at Nolan who held a disgusted look on his face.

“Enough of all this Carla!!!” Layla snapped as she fumed in anger.

” Where is my daughter? ” She requested angrily.

” If you know you have anything to do with Noelle’s disappearance, Give me my child this instant!! ” Layla requested. She didn’t care if Carla rose from the dead, the only thing she cared about was having Noelle back in one piece.

” Chill Layla. What’s the rush? We have all the time… ” A sinister smile curved up at the corner of her lips as her eyes studied Layla. Her hatred for her grew even more.

Layla’s blood ran cold at the look in Carla’s eyes. It was a look of pure hatred, and Layla knew that this was not going to end well. “You tell me where my daughter is right now,” Layla said, her voice shaking with fear and anger. “If you’ve hurt her, I’ll never forgive you.”

” And what if I did? Carla challenged.

” Shut up Carla. Bring me my child and how dare you take her away. I request to see my daughter now!!” Layla said in a stern voice and Carla began to laugh loudly.

Carla had changed a lot, half of her face was burnt, leaving her disfigured, it was obvious she survived a fire.

From the look of things, the burn just has been very fatal, seeing she still hasn’t healed.

“Hey look, Layla. You’re in my domain and you can’t order me around. I can order my men to slit the throat of your precious little girl and there’s no damn thing any of you can do about it! ” She stated with a menacing look on her face and that seemed to have calmed Layla down. She faced Nolan as she held him.

“Nolan, You have to do something.. ” she urged tears in her eyes, tugging his arms.

“Call down..” he said to Carla before walking a little closer to Carla.

“Carla we can talk this out, don’t do anything rashly..” He said to her softly.

“Talk this out?” Carla laughed bitterly.

“All you care about is them, Nolan. You didn’t even ask how I bothered to survive that fire..” she pointed out in rage.

Nolan knew it was going to be a very difficult situation for him, he still hadn’t known where Carla had kept Noelle, so he had to act cautiously.

And what was Carla talking about? Of course, he loved his family more than anything.

“I was gone for five years, living in fear as I hid from everyone. Wherever I went to, I was tagged as a monster because of this stupid scar and it’s all because of her… .” Carla pointed at Layla who hit her lips bitterly.

” Layla caused nothing for you… ” Nolan said to her

Whatever she was facing now, was all because of her stupidity and nothing else!

” What do you mean Nolan? Of course, you’d support her. She’s your darling Layla.. ” she said in sarcasm.

” Look, Carla. Let’s talk this out. I’ll give you whatever you want. Please just let Noelle go and you’ll get whatever you want.. ‘” Nolan offered, knowing fully well that Noelle’s life was in danger.

Clara had probably been harboring her hatred for five years.

“Really?” Carla’s face lit up as she laughed.

“You’ll seriously give me whatever I ask for?” She raised a brow at Nolan who shook his head.

“Great!! Burke bring the little girl here..” she uttered and one of the men who had abducted Noelle emerged with Noelle.

“Both of you shut up. Your stupid family reunion will take place later..” She rolled her eyes as she made Noelle stand in front of her as Burke Gave her a gun.

Layla’s heart raced as she saw the gun in Burke’s hand. She knew that Carla was capable of doing something terrible, and the look in her eyes told Layla that she was serious.

“Please, don’t do this,” Layla pleaded, her voice cracking. “I’ll do anything you want, just don’t hurt Noelle.”

“Please Carla let my child go..” Layla begged. Seeing the poor condition her daughter was in.

Her skin looked dirty like she was forced to sleep on dusty ground.

She was still wearing the same clothes.

“You see, I need something from you, and I know that you won’t give it to me unless I have leverage. So please, just cooperate, and this will all be over soon, huh? ” She raised a brow at them, smiling.

“What do you want?” Layla asked, her voice trembling. “I’ll give you anything, just please let Noelle go. She’s just a little girl, she doesn’t deserve this.”

“I’ll let her go but on one condition..” she began.

“Name your price.” Nolan motioned.

“Good! It’s simple. Nolan will have sex with me”

“What!!” Nolan and Layla exclaimed at the same time.

Nolan had always thought Carla behaved the way she did in the past because she was childish but now he was certain that she had lost her mind.

There was no way he was ever going to touch her.
