Layla happily rushed down the stairs. She just learnt that Aurora and Xander were already leaving and she wanted to bid farewell.

“My love!” Aurora squealed happily as Layla rushed to hug her. Keisha was so present there.

“Oh my..” Layla pouted as she broke out from the hug.

“It’s so sad that you’re leaving so soon.” Layla pouted. She has missed her best friend so much and now she is leaving.

They didn’t even spend quality time together.

“I know, I’m going to miss you so much!” Aurora said, a sad smile on her face.

“Me too, But you know I have to resume my duties as a queen. The kingdom needs me.”

“I know,” Aurora said, trying to hold back her tears.

“No worries though. I’ll be coming over soon..” Layla informed Aurora happily She had an appointment with doctor Karen.

So she would take that as an opportunity to visit both Aurora and Regan.

“That’s wonderful!” Aurora said, her face lighting up.

“I can’t wait to see you again! And you can tell me all about your new adventures as queen” Aurora winked at her.

” Oh, and don’t forget to bring some of that delicious werewolf food you were telling me about!”

Layla chuckled. “Of course! I’ll make sure to bring some for you”

She then turned to Xander, who had been standing silently. “I’ll miss you too, Xander.”

Xander nodded, a small smile on his face.

“I’ll miss you too, Layla. Take care of yourself, and my godchild..” he added naughtily as they all laughed.

“You know I definitely will..” she grinned.

“Good, I’ll be in the car..” he said to Aurora as he gave his luggage to a guard.

“By Keisha..”

“You too Xan…” Keisha waved back at him.

“Guys you won’t believe it!!” Las squealed happily after Xander left.

“What?” Keisha and Aurora grilled with curiosity in their eyes.

“Nolan proposed to me.” She informed her face beaming with smiles as she showed off her diamond ring.

Keisha and Aurora gasped in unison, their eyes wide with surprise.

“That’s incredible!” Keisha exclaimed, reaching out to examine the ring. “It’s so beautiful! ” She admired the ring.

Aurora nodded in agreement. “You must be so happy! When’s the wedding going to be?”

“I don’t know yet,” Layla replied, still smiling.

It would be probably after she has her baby but nonetheless she was happy that things were working out fine.

“Wow, I’m so happy for you girl..” Aurora screamed happily.

“What’s going on here?” Someone asked behind them and they turned to see Carla.

“Nolan gave Layla a ring. A royal wedding is going to take place soon…” Keisha informed and Carla’s shoulders instantly fell..

“What?” Carla stuttered in disbelief.

“Nolan and Layla’s wedding is going to take place soon” Keisha confirmed and Carla chuckled in amusement.

She never really thought this day would come, her thought had always been that Nolan would never marry Layla as he never cared to do that when they just got married. But it seemed things had changed.

“You look happy Layla..” she began as she looked at Layla from head to toe.

“You should…” she said slowly, faking a smile.

Layla could sense the insincerity in Carla’s tone. She knew that Carla wasn’t really happy for her, and she strangely didn’t give a fuck about it.

“Thanks, Carla,” she said, trying to keep her tone polite.

“I am happy, very happy about this. It’s so good to know how much my mate cares about me..” Layla fired at Carla with a passive look on her face.

Carla gave her a tight smile. “I’m glad to hear that. I just hope that this happiness lasts.”

“What do you mean by that?” Layla asked, her brow furrowed in confusion.

Carla hesitated for a moment, clearly searching for the right words.

“I just mean that… Well, you and Nolan can be together, but they’re going to be other women in his life. His mistresses..” Carla deadpanned.

“That’s enough Carla. It’s none of your business…” Keisha snapped at Carla. She really hated how Carla refrained from minding her business.

“Thank you, Keisha,” Layla said, feeling a rush of gratitude towards her friend. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her anger

Carla rolled her eyes. “It’s not as if I’m lying.”

Layla chose to ignore her, not wanting to let Carla get under her skin. She was determined to enjoy her happiness, no matter what Carla thought.

“Come Aurora, let’s go. Ignore her. She never gets past her childishness, that must be why she’s yet to find her own mate at this age…” Layla uttered with sarcasm.

Carla was a full grown woman yet to find her mate.

She should worry about that instead.

“Don’t mind her, Layla,” Aurora said, giving Layla a reassuring smile. “She’s just jealous of your happiness. She’s probably never been loved like you are.”

Carla’s face flushed with anger at Aurora’s words. “You can’t talk to me like that,” she said, her voice low and dangerous.

“And why’s that?” Aurora snapped at her.

“Go get a life Carla. It seems as if you need one…” Aurora smiled warmly at Carla.

Carla’s eyes flashed with rage, but before she could respond, a loud voice called out, “What’s going on here?”

They all turned to see. His expression was dark, and Layla could tell he was not pleased.

Aurora and Keisha immediately straightened up, their faces showing respect. Carla, however, looked defiant.

“You’re here..” Layla smiled as she walked to where Nolan was, and she held him by his waist romantically while she planted a light kiss on his cheeks.

“Yeah. Actually I had a change of plans. We’re leaving with Aurora and Xander..” Nolan informed Layla.

“Really?”

“Yes, you’ll get your checkup done and I have something to deal with at the company. We’ll return tomorrow in earnest..” he added as Layla shook her head slowly.

“Great!” She exclaimed happily.

“I’ll pack my bags..” she was about to leave when Nolan held her back.

“Alright, come on..” They both held hands with each other making way for the door.

“I’m so glad that we’ll be leaving together..” Aurora grinned as Keisha spoke.

“I’ll see you off..”

“Be good Carla..” Layla smiled at Carla as they left.

Carla almost burst into pieces out of anger as she witnessed what just happened. She brought out a phone as she dialed a number.

“Hey..” she says the moment the person picked up the call.

“I have great news for you!” She grinned devilishly as she played with her nails.
