Upon arriving in the meeting room, Deasy could see her fellow managers had already gathered. Daniel, the Tricky Magic Com guy, was already comfortably seated in his chair.
“I thought you weren’t attending the meeting because you haven’t been around.”
As Deasy took her seat, Daniel immediately remarked. Their chairs happened to be right next to each other.
“There’s no way someone as important as me would skip a meeting. Besides, my girlfriend would worry if she didn’t see me here.”
Deasy continued to boast in front of Daniel, confidently acknowledging that Lucas Morales, their boss, was her boyfriend. Even though she knew her boss seemed to have a partner already.
Meanwhile, Daniel visibly cringed. It was clear he was fed up with Deasy constantly flaunting herself.
“I bet your relationship won’t last long. You’re not even in the same league.”
“Don’t try to be a fortune teller predicting people’s fates.”
Daniel burst into laughter.
“I’m not pretending to predict the future. But, judging from your statuses, it’s like night and day.”
“Huh? What do you think I am?”
“A human being, Des. Not a ghost. I mean, if your partner is Mr. Lucas, he’s way too high for you.”
Deasy narrowed her eyes, moved closer, and asked point-blank.
“What kind of person do you think is suitable for me?”
“Someone as handsome as me.”
Deasy felt like gagging. Seriously, why did she ever like and get into a romantic relationship with Tricky Magic Com next to her?
“Gosh, Daniel. If you’re considered handsome, what about the models?”
“Deasy, don’t be pretentious. If I had asked you to get back together yesterday, you would’ve said yes, right?”
“Strawberry mango donut. Sorry, I’m not interested.”
“Not interested, but you were insanely jealous when you found out I was getting married to Arindi.”
“Who’s jealous? Don’t exaggerate. Besides, I—”
Deasy’s sentence was left hanging. Before she could finish arguing with Daniel, Lucas Morales appeared from the door. The tall, model-like man entered the meeting room with Felix, his assistant.
“Let’s start the meeting right away.”
Lucas then opened the meeting, inviting the legal team to present the topics to be discussed.
“Lucas… Lucas… so handsome. But, unfortunately, unattainable.”
Instead of paying attention to the meeting, Deasy indulged in various daydreams. She spent nearly two hours admiring the charisma and authority of Lucas Morales as he provided evaluations and various inputs.
“Since there’s nothing else to discuss, I’ll conclude the meeting. Don’t forget that for those of you who aren’t too busy, we have a celebration tonight for our successful expansion abroad.”
Deasy immediately stood up from her seat, ready to leave the room, but once again, Daniel interrupted her.
“Des, do you want to go for lunch?”
Deasy glanced over, feeling very reluctant to indulge.
“Why, what’s up?”© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
“Wanna join? I will treat you.”
In truth, Deasy had already prepared an answer. Of course, she wanted to flatly reject Daniel’s invitation.
However, before she could respond, Lucas suddenly appeared unexpectedly. Out of the blue and quite surprisingly, he addressed Deasy, who was engaged in a conversation with Daniel.
“Ms. Deasy, want to have lunch, right? Just with me.”
Deasy immediately flashed a broad smile. It seemed like God was favoring her today. For some reason, it was as if Lucas Morales intentionally came to her rescue whenever she faced difficulties. Or perhaps, could it be that the two of them were actually destined for each other?
Now, Deasy didn’t need to bother rejecting Daniel. She had a reason to make her ex-boyfriend even more heated.
“Sorry, Daniel. Instead of having lunch with you, I’d rather eat with my handsome boyfriend.”
After whispering, Deasy walked away. She approached Lucas, then followed him to the car and headed to a restaurant to have lunch together.
In her heart, Deasy was certainly delighted. She never imagined that she would be invited to lunch by the man she had secretly desired to dine with.
“Ms. Deasy, what would you like to eat?” Lucas asked when they had arrived and were sitting in a Japanese restaurant.
“I’ll have the original Ramen Katsu, please.”
“And for a drink?”
“Just mineral water.”
Lucas nodded and then called the waiter to order their food. While waiting, they engaged in light conversation until the food they had ordered arrived and was served.
“Please go ahead and eat.”
“Thank you very much, Mr. Lucas.”
Lucas nodded and began eating from his bowl.
“Ms. Deasy, don’t forget to come to the celebration event at SkyHouse tonight. There will be a lot of people there.”
This time, Deasy nodded. If she was invited directly by such a handsome guy, how could she possibly refuse?
“Yes, Mr. Lucas. I will definitely be there tonight.”
They slowly enjoyed their meal. To lighten the mood, Lucas once again engaged Deasy in conversation.
“Do you like Japanese food?”
Deasy, who was blowing on her hot ramen, immediately looked up. Smiling, she gave her response.
“Not really, Mr. I actually prefer Indonesian Food or Chinese Food.”
Lucas nodded.
“I see. Out of all the foods, what’s your favorite?”
“Beef black pepper, Fuyunghai, and Mango Rice .”
“Wow, our tastes are so similar!”
“Oh, really? Mr. Lucas likes those three too? You look like a Western food kind of guy. I thought you would prefer Western cuisine.”
“No,” Lucas shook his head. “I actually prefer Indonesian food over Western food. It suits my palate better.”
As they chatted, a somewhat familiar woman appeared from behind. Deasy thought she would be enjoying lunch alone with Lucas Morales. However, it turned out there was another woman joining them, and of course, she considered it an intrusion.
“Devina,” Lucas greeted. “Are you here too?”
“Yes, I just finished at the salon.”
“Have you eaten?”
Devina shook her head.
“Not yet. I’m looking for a place. Oh, and I ran into you here.”
“Well then, what would you like to eat?”
“Just the usual.”
Lucas then signaled the waiter. Knowing Devina’s preferences well, Lucas promptly placed her order.
Initially, Deasy thought this lunch would be a romantic or at least enjoyable affair for her. But unfortunately, everything changed after Devina, Lucas’s girlfriend, showed up.
What made Deasy even angrier was that Lucas shamelessly displayed his affection in front of her. He helped cut the steak into small pieces for Devina, presumably to make it easier for her to chew.
Even more than that, in front of Deasy, Lucas unabashedly fed Devina. This naturally made Deasy feel even more irritated.
“This Lucas is unbelievable. Being all lovey-dovey in front of me. Does he think the world belongs to the two of them? And here I am, feeling like a third wheel?”
Deasy muttered to herself. While continuing to observe, she tried to remain patient.
“Strawberry mango pineapple. Come on, Deasy, don’t get worked up. Just pretend Lucas and Devina are invisible beings.”
Deasy kept reassuring herself to stay patient. Somehow, in moments like this, she couldn’t help but remember Lucas Orion, the man who used to shower her with attention. Even when they were about to eat, Lucas always fed her, making sure she finished every last bite without leaving anything behind.
For heaven’s sake, was Deasy really missing Lucas Orion, the man who had satisfied her so completely in bed?
