PREGNANT BUT REJECTED AS A BILLIONAIRE WIFE

PHB 79

After all this time, with no rhyme or reason, Deasy suddenly invited her mother to go to her father’s grave.

However, a while back, whenever Diana invited her to just visit briefly, Deasy always had reasons to decline.

It wasn’t without reason, actually. It’s just that she felt really sad having to remember and accept the fact that her father was truly gone.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Undoubtedly, compared to her mother, Deasy was closer and more familiar with her father.

That’s why, when her father had to depart suddenly, Deasy felt upset and lost.

She thought her father was perfectly fine at the time. Why did he suddenly drop and then lose his life?

After all, there were still many plans they had together that hadn’t been realized. That’s why Deasy truly felt sad.

“Pa, how are you? I’m sorry I only just got around to visiting Papa’s new home.”

Deasy gently touched the surface of the tombstone with the name Anton Winterborne written on it. Sitting there with her mother, they both seemed to gaze fondly at her father’s eternal resting place.

“Pa…” Diana said too. “It’s not that Mama didn’t want to bring Deasy to visit Papa here. It’s just that your child here is lazy. Back when he was still alive, she stuck to Papa like glue because she wanted something, right? Because she knew Papa always granted her requests. But now that Papa’s not here, she suddenly forgets and comes up with all sorts of excuses every time she’s asked to come. And now she’s here, she’s probably looking for forgiveness.”

Deasy immediately turned her head, looking bewildered by what her mother had just said. How could it be that, in front of her father’s grave, which was undeniably real, her mother was still provoking and complaining about things that weren’t true about her?

“Ma, there’s no need to talk nonsense,” Deasy said, annoyed. “We’re here to visit because it’s been a long time since we came here. Not to gossip about my behavior.”

Diana pursed her lips as if mocking her own daughter. But, it was her own daughter after all. Yet, she seemed to take great pleasure in teasing her whenever she made her upset. Maybe it was a reflection of her own feelings, as she often complained about Deasy’s incredibly unique behavior as her only child.

“What’s the matter anyway? Besides, even if Mama talks endlessly until she foams at the mouth, it won’t change anything, Des. It’s not like your Papa is going to respond from inside the grave and address Mama’s complaints. Do you think we’re shooting a horror movie here? Where suddenly the corpse rises from the grave and joins the conversation?”

Deasy rolled her eyes. It was indeed difficult to argue or exchange words with her mother. Why did she have to be born to Diana Winterborne? When she thought about it, Veronica would have been a better fit as Diana’s child.

They both had similar personalities, especially when it came to teasing others. They were identical, no difference at all. Just plain cruel and lacking in humanity. Deasy even briefly thought, what if she and Veronica had been switched when they were kids?

“Ugh, so annoying. If Deasy had known, she would have visited Papa here by herself. No point in bringing Mama along. All Mama does is blame Deasy.”

“That’s not possible,” Diana argued. “Besides, Mama has already come along. So, just accept it. Come on, hurry up. What do you want to complain to your Papa about? Mama is surprised you suddenly invited her here.”

Deasy sighed deeply. For whatever reason, it turned out to be a hassle to bring her mother along this morning. If she had known her mother would be chatty and talk nonsense like this, she would have gone alone earlier.

“Pa…” Deasy mumbled again. For a moment, she chose to ignore her mother. “Once again, Deasy apologizes for being so busy, so it took her a while to visit Papa.”

“That’s just an excuse, Pa. It’s just that your child is lazy,” Diana quipped without any guilt. “Yet, this cemetery complex is only a twenty-minute drive from her apartment. She was given quite an inheritance. But when it comes to visiting her parents, she never has time.”

“Ma!” Deasy protested, pouting. It seemed like her mom enjoyed picking fights.

“Okay… okay,” Diana conceded. “Go on. Mama will be quiet.”

Deasy took several deep breaths. Convinced that her mom wouldn’t nag again, she continued with the words that had been delayed earlier. She better watch out in case her mom interjected randomly.

“After all this time, I can’t believe Deasy didn’t know the truth about Papa and Mr. Andreas in the past. Because of this, I made a huge mistake, Pa. I did something terrible that caused Mr. Andreas’s company to fail, which harmed many other staff members. I’ve truly been wicked, Pa. My actions have gone too far. Everything happened because I felt it was unfair. I did it all out of revenge against Mr. Andreas.”
