Elisa took the medicine and slept for about two hours. When she woke up, she felt well again, as if she were a different person. She felt thirsty and a little hungry, got out of bed and went downstairs. 

It was hushed at this time, two o’clock in the afternoon. She descended the stairs lightly and walked towards the kitchen. There was no one there, so she poured herself a glass of water, and there were small tomatoes on the table. She stuffed two in her mouth, one on each side, keeping her mouth full.
