PREGNANT FOR THE BILLIONAIRE

I took one last glance at the mirror and took a deep breath. I am finally going to see Edde. It felt like I haven’t seen him in forever, he suddenly became so busy with work when I needed him the most.

“You go girl!” One of the gay make up artists hyped me up snapping his finger to the air dramatically. “You look so beautiful with or without makeup, that alone should give you the confidence needed, I’m sure that Edde will be awestrucked when he sees you!” The other one uttered as I nodded and let out a hesitant smile.

“I guess I should get going now” I said and faked a smile as I quickly headed out to the dining room. Every step I took made me nervous, I and Edde Haven’t seen each other in a while now. Will he find me attractive still?

“Hi Elizabeth,” I heard a masculine voice as I turned to see Mr Reluc Loxley. I was shocked to see him. When Ray told me about the family dinner I thought it was just for us but…

“Hi…hi” I stuttered, still shocked to see him. “You’re here” I uttered as he nodded with a light smile.

“I guess Edde didn’t tell you that I was coming” he asked as I nodded. “Well, I just had to come around to see my daughter in-law, I’m sure I got the right to see you huh?” He uttered as I lightly laughed and nodded, I could see his eyes on my belly which made me kinda nervous.

“You look beautiful, Edde is definitely doing more than I thought he would” he commented as I shrugged.

“I guess he is trying, he is just too busy for my liking these few weeks” I sighed as he stretched his hand to me.

“Let’s go in, they are waiting” he said as I took his hand softly and smiled as he led me inside.

Entering the dining room the first person my eyes caught was my mom, she was sitting next to Melanie and chatting with Edde and Ray.

“Mom!?” I uttered in shock as she turned to me.

“Elizabeth! Oh my Baby!” She uttered as she hurried to me and carefully gave me a hug, I couldn’t help but smile widely. It’s been almost a year of me not seeing my mom and suddenly Edde surprises me by inviting her to dinner.

“Mrs Courtney Albie, you still look so hot and sexy!” I teased her even if I knew that she hates being called Albie.

“And you look so beautiful pregnant! If only Edde can get you pregnant every year! It suits you perfectly!” My mom uttered as everyone brushed into laughter, I was slightly embarrassed but still lived in the moment.

“I’m going through a lot here Mom so stop wishing” I said, faking a frown as I nudged her gently. “He kicks too much,” I added.

“A he?” Reluc asked as I nodded. “This is gonna be so fun!” He Squealed happily as I rolled my eyes.

“Will you guys keep standing and talking or will you come seat?” Edde asked coldly as I rolled my eyes at him making sure he notices that I was mad at him.

“Come on Elizabeth,” my Mom muttered as she walked back to her seat while I sat next to Ray who was almost done with his meal.

Such a foodie.

“You’re still mad at Edde huh?” He uttered as I nodded, I could still feel Edde’s eyes piercing into my

skin, ever since I rolled my eyes at him he hasn’t taken his eyes off me… He definitely has a lot to ask.

The dinner was going pretty smooth and fun, at least it got Melanie out of her sad state. She was happy now while I and Edde kept exchanging eye contact like it was a game.

Soon the dinner was over but everyone was still into the discussion they were having so I quickly left the dinning room to my room, my intention was to have Edde follow me so we could have a little chat on his little attitude.

My door opened as Edde walked in with worry written all over his face, he slowly closed the door as his eyes weren’t leaving my side.

“Betta, I’m sorry” he pleaded calmly.

“For what exactly, Mr Baby daddy?” I asked as he sighed and took a seat on the bed next to me.

“Work has been quite stressful these few weeks, I also thought It’d be best if I left you to rest, I’m sorry if that affected you” he said calmly as I took a deep breath.

“Ain’t you the CEO? I mean, you don’t have to participate in the work. You can just sit here and order”

“It’s really not always like that, it’s my business so sometimes I gotta be there and get things done the best way… You won’t really understand” he said as he stood up and took my hand. “I have something beautiful to show you, it might lighten your mood hopefully” he uttered as I shrugged and followed him curiously.

We got to the third room’s door after ours as he turned to me with a light smile on his lips. “Are you ready?” He asked as I nodded and watched him slowly open the door. “Tadaaa!” He exclaimed enthusiastically as my mouth fell open in shock, it was a well designed baby nursery with a pretty blue colored baby bed.

I speechlessly walked into the room, I was too stunned to say a word. How long has he been working on this room!? “Wow! Edde this is so beautiful! And so thoughtful of you, I never had this in mind!” I uttered as I ran my hand through the well designed wall.

“It really did, I never knew you cared about the baby for real!”I uttered as I heard him scoff at my speech.

“Of course I do, I wasn’t just ready but now I guess I am” he shrugged as I sighed and sat on the chair next to the bed.

“I can’t imagine leaving my baby at a very young age, he is gonna hate me when he grows up” I Muttered worriedly as he sighed. “He is going to be a cute little kid and needs me closer, you are so busy Edde and I can’t bear to see him Calling one of your bitches mom!” I added as I ran my fingers through my hair frustratedly, I expected him to react or say something but he Rather stood with his two hands dipped into his pockets.

What was I really expecting? For Edde to suddenly sympathize with me and let me take our baby or maybe marry me? Edde will never think of doing that and I won’t even want that.

I wish this is something I could reverse, it is a signed deal and he paid me for it. I have even spent almost all the first payment!

I sighed as tears rolled down my cheeks. “I will just go to the room, I think I need rest” I said as he nodded gently.

That was so cold of him! He didn’t even say a thing.

I took a quick bath and sat on the bed. I was still very mad at Edde, he still hasn’t come to check on me. I’m sure that he is having a good time with others down stairs.

I checked the time and it was already 10pm, my sleep time was near but I wasn’t feeling sleepy. My eyes drifted to my laptop as I sighed deeply, staying here with Edde has made me forget about my school. The final exam was over and neither me nor Melanie wrote the exam.

I wasn’t bothered though, all my mind could think of was my new life, Edde and the baby.

“Things are getting tough for me” I mumbled and hissed as I got a text on my phone, it was from my mom. I clicked on it and it was a message of her asking me to come down stairs.

“I am quite tired Mom, see you in the morning” I typed and read out audibly as I sent my reply and lay down.

“Betta?” I heard Edde’s calm voice as I quickly turned to see him standing by the door.

“I didn’t hear the door open”.

“You were probably deep in your sleep” he replied as I sighed.

“I wasn’t sleeping” I replied as he sat on the couch.

“I don’t know why you’re so worked up about taking care of the baby, I mean, you still have one year to stay with him” Edde started as I scoffed.

“It sounds so easy for you huh? I am the one to birth him. I know what I have gone through carrying my baby so I know how It’d feel leaving him behind for you!” I replied harshly and turned my back at him.

“Elizabeth you still have a long time here, this is a signed deal which you can’t change” he uttered and walked to the bathroom.
