Chapter314 What Do You Want?
What Do You Want?
Luckily, Noah took his stuff and ran to Hayden directly, throwing himself into Hayden’s arm. There were too many people, so he still did not speak.
Hayden bent down and pat the kids on their heads, with her eyes fixed on somewhere else.
While eating, Harrison said in a meaningful way, “Hayden, please stay for a moment after the party. I have something to tell you, and it’s about Noah.”
Listening to this, Hayden glimpsed at Joseph and acted as usual, although she was digging her nails into her palm.
It seemed that Harrison had known everything. And that was the reason why Pola was here.
After a while, Hayden saw Pola went to the bathroom. And she stood up as well.
“Where are you going?”
Joseph was feeding Noah, asking.
Hayden answered calmly, “I need to go to the restroom, be right back.”
Both Joseph and Harrison did not know the truth, but she and Pola knew. Hayden had to figure out Pola’s intention.
The restroom was far from the hall. Hayden walked along several corridors. Pola was washing her hands when Hayden entered the restroom. She was thin and pretty, although she looked a bit haggard with her face reflected in the mirror.
“Ms. Downey,” Pola saw Hayden in the mirror. She went blank for a second and forced a smile, “I didn’t say Hi to you just now because there were too many people out there. Sorry about that.”

Hayden approached, glaring at Pola coldly, “What do you want?”
Pola frowned, “Ms. Downey, I don’t understand.”
“You are Noah’s mother? The surrogate mother six years ago?” Hayden asked bluntly with a hostile glare, “Are you sure?”
Pola did not dare to look into Hayden’s eyes. She took several steps backward, “Ms. Downey, I don’t want to be your rival. I just want to meet my son before I go to Britain a year later. You’re still the future Mrs. Beckham which won’t be challenged by me.”
“Stop being pretentious!” Hayden’s eyes had grown ice-cold, “You are not Noah’s mother at all. Who sent you to do this? What do you want?”
Pola stared at Hayden’s angry face and sneered, “Ms. Downey, I’m trying to keep polite. I don’t know what you are suspecting. If I’m not, who would be his mother? You?”
Hayden’s expression suddenly altered and she felt a drumming in her temples.
She sensed that Pola knew everything. She might even know that Hayden was Noah’s mother, but she knew Hayden would not acknowledge, so she took advantage of that with unknown motive.
“What do you want to do exactly?” Hayden lowered her voice, trying to intimidate Pola, “I’ll do anything for the sake of Noah.”
“Nothing.” Pola looked down at her nails which were vanished a shade of transparent nail polish. Her pink nails made her looked more tender and reserved. But such tenderness disappeared when she began to speak, “I don’t think there is any problem if a mother wants to meet her son.”
No matter what Hayden said, Pola would not admit that she was a liar. She had made up her perfect excuse, so Hayden was unable to retort. Hayden’s hands were shaking with rage.
On the other side of dining hall, Harrison was wondering why Hayden did not come back, “Joseph, why did Hayden go out for a long time? Go see her.”
Joseph looked at the entrance and caught a sight of the southeast corner of the hall. He found Pola wasn’t sitting at the table either. He got a bit nervous suddenly.
Telling the babysitters to take care of the kids, Joseph stood up and went to the bathroom.
He just approached the door when there was screaming inside the bathroom.
“Hayden!”
He rushed to open the door of lady’s bathroom and he was shocked by what he saw.
Pola fell down to the ground with her face covered in her hand. Weeping, she was astounded, “How can you slap me?”
Hayden was so angry, with her hands hanging there. She turned around when she heard the door opening and she saw Joseph glaring at her in a strange way.
“What are you doing?” Joseph’s eyes grew cold.
Hayden wanted to explain this to him, but she felt disappointed at him being aggressive, “You won’t believe me even if I explain that I haven’t done anything, will you?”
Joseph did not answer. He walked by without even looking at her and helped Pola to her feet.
“I’m fine.” Pola struggled to stand up. Then she pulled out her arm from Joseph’s hands as if she was afraid that Hayden would misunderstand their relationship.
“There has been some misunderstanding between me and Ms. Downey. It’s not a big deal. It’s all right.” She kept covering her face with hand while speaking.
To Hayden, it was ridiculous that Pola was pretending to be injured.
Hayden had not even touched her. But she seemed to be so upset with this look. So many women wanted to have relationship with Joseph. But Pola was the most shameless and pretentious one.
“Did you slap her?” Staring at Hayden, Joseph asked her with an angry voice.
“Right. I slapped her.” Hayden got infuriated and lied, “If you did not come to stop me, I would continue.”
“Just because she wants to meet Noah? Hayden, could you calm yourself down?”
“I’ve remained calm. But could you scrutinize her carefully?” Hayden pointed at Pola with her hand, “Joseph, could you please be responsible to Noah? You wanted to leave your son to such a woman with unknown background and motive. If something happens, it will be too late to regret.”
“Hayden!” Joseph shouted with angry face.
“Don’t yell at me.” Hayden replied in a louder voice and interrupted him abruptly, “You can consider me an irrational and mean woman. But I won’t be nice to her. That’s it.”
Saying this, she went out directly.
Joseph was raged with his hands clenched and veined.
Pola was standing next to him and said, “It’s my fault. Let me explain this to her.”
“No need.”
Joseph stopped her and asked when she turned around to look at him, “Did Hayden slap you indeed?”
She gave a shudder because of his eyes and forced herself to answer, “It’s all right. I’m OK.”
“I’m asking, did she really slap you?”
His strong voice resounded in the bathroom, which frightened Pola.
