Chapter 46- goodbyes?

JULIANA'S POV

"Can we talk?" I asked Tyberias as he got home from work.

"Sure" he smiled and we sat down on our bed

"I've made my decision, Tyberias and I... I can't keep seeing you after you get married, Tyberias" I said softly.

"W-What do you mean?"

"You're going to be married tomorrow and I have to respect that"

"But I don't love her, I love you" he said and pulled me closer to him. I noticed his eyes began to water.

"I know, maybe when this whole thing blows over we can be together again. But I'm not going to be with a married man." I said and my eyes also began watering.

"P-please. Don't do this. I love you."

"And I love you. So much. But every time I see you, I'll just be reminded that your not mine anymore, you're hers. A-And I can put myself through that" I said and tears began flowing down my eyes.

He didn't say anything and just pulled me into his chest. I could hear him sniffing from above me, but he was probably trying to keep his tears in.

"I love you, Juliana. I will always love you, no matter who I'm married to." His voice cracked.

"I know... but I have to put myself first, Tyberias. So, I'm leaving. Tomorrow, I'm taking myself and Estella somewhere far. And maybe in the future, if you're no longer with her anymore, you can come

find us again. But right now, I just don't want to put myself through anymore pain." I said softly as my tears blurred my vision.

"Please don't leave me. I'll do anything. I'll stop playing on the PlayStation so much, I'll stop buying you expensive gifts when you tell me not to. I won't make fun of your height anymore. I'll stop assuming you're upset because of your period and not because I messed up. Please, Juliana. I'll do anything." He desperately whispered and squeezed me tighter. Hearing him say this broke my heart even more.

I tried to speak but I couldn't, the knot on my throat was bigger than ever before. The only things that were coming out my mouth were soft whimpers.

He gently brought down his lips of mine. It wasn't a fast, rough kiss like what we were used to. This kiss was slow, passionate, full of raw emotion. It was a kiss that poured all of our feelings into each other.

A kiss that signified the end of our relationship.

"One last time. Just let me be with you one last time. Let me pretend that you'll always be mine, even if it's just for tonight." He whispered and more tears escaped his eyes and I nodded.

He deepened the kiss as he placed a hand on my cheek, holding me there.

We slowly took each other's clothes off until we were completely naked under each other's gazes. He gently laid me down. I wasn't so used to him being so gentle with me but I loved it nonetheless.

I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. I wanted to be as close to him as possible.

"I love you" I whispered in his ear as he wrapped his arms around my body and slowly slipped his length inside me.

This was deeper than sex. We weren't just fucking this time, we were making beautiful, blissful love and I never wanted it to stop.

"I love you" he said as he gently pumped in and out of me.

We both moaned together as we climaxed at the same time.

"Tyberias?" I asked when I saw he didn't move to get off of me.

"Just let me savour this moment" he said and he nuzzled his head in the crook of my neck.

A few moments passed and Tyberias spoke again.

"I want to show you something. Get dressed" he said.

He quickly got dressed and frowned when he saw that I was still naked on our bed.

He led me off the bed and reached for one of his hoodies from his closet. We didn't say a word as he slipped it onto me. He then retrieved a pair of my black leggings. He crouched down so I could slip my feet in and I held onto his shoulders for support. He then tugged them up my legs.

"We're matching?" I said as I noticed he was wearing the exact same hoodie with black sweatpants and he smiled.

"Let's go" he said

"Where are we going" I said as he dragged me out the front door.

"You'll see"

The drive was about 10 minutes long and the whole time Tyberias kept his hand on my thigh, as if he didn't want to let go of me.

He jumped out of the car and came to open my door for me. I smiled sadly; this was probably the last time he would do this for me.

I looked around and saw that we were on top of a hill with a view of the empty field below us.

"Why are we-" I began but quickly stopped as I looked at what was below us.

There were about a hundred people in the field. I recognised most of them as Tyberias' men. Some of them even bought along their families, as I noticed them with their wives and children. I gasped as I saw them all holding glowing lanterns and then simultaneously, they all released them and the sky lit up.

"I'm malicious, mean and scary

My sneer could curdle dairy

And violence-wise my hands are not the cleanest

But despite my evil look and my temper and my hook

I've somehow managed to fall in love with the sweetest" Tyberias began to sing. I noticed he changed the last line to his own.

"I've got a dream

I've got a dream" he continued, he wrapped his arms around my waist, urging me to join in.

"I just want to see the floating lanterns gleam

And with every passing hour

I'm so glad I left my tower

Like all you lovely folks, I've got a dream" I finished and we both laughed together.

"This is beautiful. Wow. Thank you for bringing me here" I smiled as I turned in his arms.

"Boss" I heard one of his men say as they ran up the hill to meet us.

"Here" the man said as he handed us two lanterns.

"Thank you, Harry" Tyberias said as he took both the lanterns and the man ran back down to his family.

I smiled as I noticed Tyberias said thank you this time.

"Make a wish, baby" he said as he handed me a lantern.

I closed my eyes and thought.

I wish you could be mine forever, Tyberias I thought and released the glowing lantern in my hands.

I opened my eyes to see Tyberias' already in the air.

"What did you wish for?" I asked

"I can't say, otherwise it won't come true. And I really want it to come true" He whispered and placed his lips on mine.

"I love you" He said

"I love you" I said

"You will always have my heart, Juliana. Guard it well" he whispered, quoting the engraved words on my promise ring.
