Chapter 40
Olivia continued to walt in Sasha’s room for Scott to return.
However, Scott was taking longer than she thought. Olivia glanced at Sasha, lying on the bed with no indication of waking up any time soon, and checked the time, finally, she got up and left the room after giving the nurse some Instructions on who to call if anything happened.
Scott was not outside, but Percy was standing not too far away from the door, talking on his phone.
Olivia glanced around her surroundings and then made her way to Percy.
“Okay, noted. I’ll let Mr. Lawson know.” With that, Percy hung up the phone and strode toward the
elevator.
Scott went downstairs to the sixth floor and was to return. Percy offered to go with him, but Scott insisted he wait for him in Sasha’s room. However, a half–hour passed, so he decided to go downstairs to check on Scott instead.
“Where’s Scott?” a familiar voice rang out from behind him. Percy turned around and came face–to- face with Olivia. He ducked his head respectfully and replied, “Mr. Lawson has gone downstairs.”
“Downstairs?” Olivia was puzzled by this. “Why is he downstairs? Is the doctor’s office downstairs?”
Percy did not know who exactly Olivia was, but since she came with Scott to the hospital to see Sasha, he could deduce that they were close, so he treated Olivia as respectfully as he could. “Ms. Richards was saved by a kind passerby, and that woman got injured as a result of the fire, so Mr. Lawson went down to the sixth floor to thank that woman personally.”
Olivia recalled overhearing Scott telling Percy to find out what happened. Sasha’s parents, who were Scott’s cousin’s sister and her husband, were overseas at this time and could not rush home in time to visit Sasha themselves, so they asked Scott to help out instead.
The truth was, none of this had anything to do with Olivia at all, but Olivia knew Sasha’s parents personally and they would frequently meet up for coffee together whenever they could. Olivia and Sasha also met a few times before, so it was not unfitting of her to tag along with Scott to visit Sasha.
However, none of this was the true reason for her coming along; she wanted to be here with Scott.
She overheard Scott mentioning that someone saved Sasha from the fire, but it slipped her mind until Percy brought it up again.
“Which ward is the woman in?” she asked. She decided to pay her respects to the person who rescued
Sasha too.
“Room 6107. It’s on the sixth floor, the surgical department.”
Olivia nodded. “Thanks.”
With that, she made her way toward the elevator, but at that exact moment, the elevator dinged, and

A familiar silhouette stepped out from within. Olivia paused and smiled. “I was just about to go downstairs to visit the woman who saved Sasha’s life.”
“No need to do that,” Scott replied curtly as he brushed past her, heading straight toward Sasha’s
room.
Olivia frowned. For some reason, she felt that Scott was not in a good mood.
Scott stepped into the room, just in time to see Sasha’s eyelids flutter open.
“Ms. Richards, you’re awake!” the nurse who looked after Sasha gasped in delight.

Scott’s gaze fell on Sasha’s face and watched her slowly open her eyes. He instructed the nurse, “Go
call the doctors.”
“Yes, sir!” the nurse darted out of the room, while Olivia came in. When she heard the nurse’s exclamations, she quickly strode over to Sasha’s side and hovered above her, smiling. “You’re awake,
Sasha!”
However, Sasha did not even notice her and instead turned to look at Scott. “Uncle Scott!”
