1 had mixed feelings stepping into the Alpha's mansion again. 1 Had a good time with Alpha Atlas at the restaurant, but I doubt if I want to share a roof with him, even if the roof is bigger than what I imagine it to be.

Emma on the other hand was excited to be back. She started to jump up and down in excitement immediately we got into the house and she made Alpha Atlas serve us food to eat himself The number of things she could make the Alpha do effortlessly was alarming and scary at the same time. She had Alpha Atlas in complete control. They played with each other. while I watched them like a lonely kid who was in no place to interrupt their conversation.

I heard a soft knock on my door and I went to the door to get it. The person at the door was one of the maids. I have never seen her before, so I figured that she was my replacement.

She was with food meant for Emma and I. I quickly ushered her in to serve us our meal.

I had a light conversation with her and if I wanted to be sincere with myself, I enjoyed talking to her more than I did with my personal maid.

My personal maid, Raina, was everything. She was smart, beautiful, intelligent and to top it all, she could prepare my favorite meals.

But, no matter how I tried, I could not share a connection with her. Something was off about her. I could not point out what it was and it was annoying, because I felt that I was losing out on getting to know more about a great soul like Raina. "What is your name?" I asked the maid that brought food to give Emma and I.

She told me her name and I made a mental note to check and make sure she was okay. From my experience as a maid, I know how much I always got bullied here. The last thing I wanted was for another person to face what I faced. Emma asked if she could go to the room that was prepared for her and after much persuasion from her, I allowed her to go

to her room.

After a while of trying to fix up things in the room, I got another knock on the door. Thinking it was the same maid who had brought Emma and I food, I quickly opened up the door.

But, to my utter dismay and to my surprise, it was the Alpha.

"What are you doing here?" I asked defensively and he flashed me a smile in reply.

"We were and you rejected me," I lashed out, wondering what I was so worked up about. To be sincere, I was still annoyed that he had rejected me and now, after eating his cake, he wanted to have it.

"I did that because I was looking for you," He said softly.

I looked up at his face and our eyes locked. He brought his hand closely to my face. Before touching my face, he looked at me like he was asking for permission to touch my face and I kept a straight face. Seeing that I was not willing to give him an answer, he brought his hand to my face, cupped my face and began to caress my face.

I took a few steps backward and with every step I told backward, he took the same step forward and toward me till he was no longer outside the room, but inside with me.

With his leg, he kicked the door close and his hands moved from my face to my waist.

"Alpha Atlas," I called out softly. "What are you doing?"

By 'what are you doing?, I was asking how he was able to make me soften under his touch. I wanted to know why I wanted us to get much closer than we already were despite how much I had told myself that I would definitely push him away if he tried to come too close. wrapped my arms around his neck, pulled him closer to myself and I wondered why I did that. I thought I had gotten over him, so what was the fire in my core as he drew close to me.

"Elaina," He called out softly. My name leaving his lips tasted sweet. Yes I could taste it and it drove keep on hearing my name from him.

I leaned closer, parted my lips to kiss him and then, I heard another knock on my door.
