Chapter 79 FREDA WHITLOCK I climbed into the car after Lyra and Francisco entered. I had stood outside the car for five minutes pacing so that the fury in my system would leave me. I was so upset. So upset that Safiya had done all she had done for no reason, because even Harper had said that Francisco did not try to harm her in any way. Goddess, I was so tired of this whole situation. I was so tired of her. “Mommy, can I play with the iPad?” Francisco asked from the backseat while Lyra looked me over. She understood that I was upset and I needed time to calm down. “Of course Francisco. Go ahead.” She looked back towards the back seat and smiled at him. “Thanks,” he said with a grateful smile and unlocked the device. He was so adorable. The iPad had been sitting right beside him and he had not touched it until he received permission. How could Safiya think my son would want to hurt her daughter? I did not understand her thought logic I was about to start the engine of the car when my phone started ringing. I took my hand off the key and reached into my purse for my phone. It was Cole. My heart thumped in my chest and I looked over at Lyra. My anger had melted immediately I saw his name and I was sure my face had turned beet red by the smirk she gave me. 0.00% de? She asked quietly and I nodded. Her smirk gw and then she gave me a soft tap on my thighs before she climbed out of the car she headed to the backseat and pulled the door dden “Come on, Cisca. I have something to show you. Your mom is not exacly feeling fun right now,” she said and I gave here grateful smile as she walked away with Francisco. The call was definitely at it’s third to fourth ring now and if I didn’t did it, the line would go deed. I took a deep breath and sounded to reseve the call before raising the phone to my ear. Hey I said into the mouthpiece, trying to make my voice sound less exited than I actually felt. Freda he called my name in his deep, soothing voice and butterflies fluttered wildly in my stomach. “H-hey” I said again, derating myself for stammering. How are you?” He asked and I Wes about to

answer but I sensed stress in his voice. “I’m okay. Are you? lasked, running my hand through my hair. I was not feeling okay, but I did not have to tell him that. It would be shameful to tell someone I barely knew that my sister was fighting me and my six year old son over a man. Um, yeah, I suppose I made it to Brookback county and I drove a few miles before I got to a signboard with a full moon and a Wolf on it. There are some militants here and they’ve held us here for a while now, he explained and I blinked before swallowing He had made it to the pack territory. I had not been expecting that it made me kind of anxious and worried. I had not expected that he would actually come up to the pack territory. I had been expecting that he would stop at the first motel he would see when he got to Brookback county. Werewolves, especially the ones in this pack were very wary of humans and I did not want him to be in any danger or trouble because of me. I was supposed to have informed the Alpha if at all I was expecting a human friend or I was bringing a human to our territory. Which led me to this once again. I had not been expecting that he would actually come! “Are you hurt, is everything okay? Are you under any pressure?” I rushed the questions because they could have been aggressive towards him. “Should we be?” He asked and let out a wary chuckle. We? What did he mean ‘we’? I decided to ignore it. “I’ll be right there. In about thirty minutes.” I said. “Okay. See you soon,” he said softly and a smile touched my face and then I hung up. My smile instantly died because I knew that if I did not take care of the situation on time by going to meet them and tell them that he was here to see me and he did not know about werewolves, the guards were definitely going to call the Alpha and that was going to be a very messy situation. I wanted nothing, absolutely nothing to do with Kaiden. I especially did not want him anywhere near Cole. “Lyra,” I lowered the window and called her name. She was just walking out of the cafeteria with Francisco and I could not help but think about how perfect her timing was. She was always so good with being at the right place at the right time. “Come on,” I waved her over

and she said something to Francisco before they started walking faster. She was carrying a paper bag of what seemed to be food and Francisco was holding his iPad. She opened the door to the backseat and made sure he was bucked in before jumping into the car. “What’s going on?” She asked because immediately she was buckled in, I started the car and hurriedly pulled out of the driveway, driving faster than I usually did, I glanced into the backseat to make sure Francisco was not listening to us before I told her what was going on. He seemed to be engrossed in the word arrangement game he was playing so I glanced over at her, Her face clearly had a question written on it and I bit my lip anxiously before I started speaking. “Cole is in the pack territory and he’s been held by the guards I said. Her eyes grew wide and I could tell she was about to yell. I glared at her and she piped down her exclamation to a whispered yell. “What?!” She exclaimed quietly. “I know, I don’t want him to be in danger or to get involved in anything messy so I’ll drop you both off and go to get him,” I said and she nodded. “Will you be okay, though?” She asked and I smiled before I have her a nod. “Of course, Lyra. If I need help, you’ll be on the phone with me before I can even blink,” I muttered and she gave me a satisfied smirk. Ten minutes later, I pulled into the driveway of our home. “Good luck,” she whispered and climbed out of the car and then went to pick Francisco from the back seat. “Your mom has something to take care of” she told him and he looked at me. “Besides she was not going to get of our food anyway” she said and I laughed. “I’ll see you soon, sweetie,” I told Francisco and Chapter 74 he nodded. 1 I drove off immediately in the direction of the pack borders. I pulled up in the parking space of the building that housed the guards when they were not on duty and looked around. My eyes spotted a red car. I had a vague memory of Cole telling me his car was a red Ford explorer truck. He was a car enthusiast. I killed the engine, grabbed my keys, climbed out of the car and locked the door. By the time I got into the building and met someone who seemed to be the head of the guards, I was breathless and sweaty. “Hey, do you, by any chance know where the owner of the red Ford

truck is?” I asked, going straight to the point. He looked outside and recognition filled his eyes on sighting the truck. “He is a human that was driving into the pack territory without a werewolf chaperone or supervision. He’s currently in the dungeon,” he said and my heart sank to the very base of my stomach. This was bad. This was really bad and so damn embarrassing.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
