Return of the Bad Boy Alpha Chapter 24
Kairos and I try desperately to reach Naomi and Ruby through the mindlink. After her last whispered answer, there was nothing but silence. 'NAOMI!' I scream and feel despair creep up. I drop to my knees and bury my face in my hands. I ignore the commotion around me.
"Wait, who took Naomi?" Max asks as I rise to my feet. I look over at Mrs. Helfer. She is still lying in a pool of blood, but she is still breathing. Max notices her. "MEDICS!" He bellows, and two show up. "Get her to the hospital." He orders. "Now, tell me who took
Naomi," He says.
I see Dulce walking towards me with part of my unit. "Dulce," I walk over to her. "Where is Brutus?"
"They are helping Beta Chance, and Gamma Greyson look for wounded and dead," She replies.
"Are all of the vampires dead?" I ask.
Dulce shrugs. "I think so. Why?"
"They took Naomi. I need you to see if any of the fuckers are still alive and then bring them to the Cells," I tell her.
"Magnus," Max grabs my shoulder. "Are you sure the vampires took Naomi?"
"Who else would have taken her, Maximus?" I growl at him. "Mrs. Helfer said the pale one took her. Who else is f*****g pale?"
Max sighs. "I'm sorry she is missing. We'll help find her as soon as we clean up."
"I'll start looking for her now," I look at Dulce, still standing there. Dulce! Go find out if any of the vampires are still alive," I order her.
She salutes me. "Yes, major," She turns to the unit. "You heard Major Bowie," She runs off with the men following her.
Hours later, the battle ended, and twenty Ghost River warriors lost their lives while dozens more were injured. Dulce and my men found three vampires still alive and dragged them to the Cells. I need to interrogate them to find out if they have any clues about Naomi's whereabouts.
I go to the Cells with Brutus and Pops while Dulce helps Max get order back. The three vampires were locked up separately. I stop at the first cell. A thin pale fucker glares at me with red eyes. It hisses as the door is opened, and we step in.
I am armed with a silver knife which is just as painful to vampires as it is to werewolves. Brutus blocks the door while Pops stands next to me. The vampire stands up and tries to rush the door, but Brutus slams a fist into his face. The vampire drops like a bag of rocks. I pick him up and slam him against the wall.
The vampire spats blood in my face. "I won't tell you anything."
I trace the knife down his pale face and laugh when he shrieks. "Oh really," I smirk. "I just want to know where you guys came from," I say.
The vampire sneers at me. "We came from nowhere, wolf."
I stab the knife into his gut, and he screams. "Where is nowhere?" I ask as black blood seeps out of the wound. I don't care that his blood is burning my skin as I wait for an answer.
"We came from nowhere," The vampire repeats.
I stab him again and ignore his screams. "Where is nowhere?" I repeat.
"Some old mansion left behind," The vampire rasps as blood seeps out of his mouth.
"Who is your leader?" I ask him.
The vampire clamps his bloody mouth shut. I stabbed him a few more times. "Magnus," Pops tries to stop me as I am enveloped with rage.
"WHO IS YOUR LEADER?!" I scream as Pops and Brutus pull me away from the now dead vampire. The body slumps to the floor, and I kick it. "YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
"Major," Brutus holds onto me while I struggle to get out of his hold. "You need to calm down, sir."
He finally releases me, and I brush past him to the next cell. Pops stands in front of me. "Son, you need to calm down. Killing these guys in a cold rage will not get you any closer to finding your mate."
"Do not tell me how to interrogate bloodsuckers!" I snarl at him.
Pops stands firm in front of the door, "Magnus, I know what I am talking about."
I take a deep breath. Pops puts his hand on my shoulder. "I just want her back and safe."
"I know, son. I want her back, too," He nods.
I take a few more deep breaths before going into the next cell. We open the door, and this fucker tries running like the last one did but runs into a wall of Brutus and falls backward onto the floor. I pick this vampire, who appears to be a woman, off the floor and drop her on the bed. She looks up at me with extreme hatred. "You can kill me because I won't talk," She spats.
"You just talked, bitch," I wave the knife in front of her face. It is still covered in the blood of the last vampire. Her eyes widen slightly. "Ah, there is your fear." I grab her hair, slide the knife down her cheek, and listen to her shriek as the silver burns her. "I just want to know where you and your friends came from?"
The vampire looks at me but says nothing. I slowly slice into her cold, pale skin. "I-I-1," Is all she says.
"Who is your leader? Who ordered you to come and attack this pack?" I ask her.
She shakes her head and remains quiet. I slice her cheek and then run the knife down her neck. "No," She whispers.
I pick her up by her greasy hair and hold her against the wall. I don't stab her. I just slice into her skin and listen to her shriek. "I can make the pain go away as long as you tell me where you came from," I smile. "We might even let you go." "Magnus," Pops chides me.
I ignore my father and stare at the bleedy vampire. "Don't you want to be free?"
"I can't tell you-"
"Anything? Anything at all?"I plead with her.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
"We gather at some old mansion," She responds.
I wipe the knife on her clothes and let go of her. "Where is this mansion?" I ask as she slumps on the bed.
"It's in the middle of the woods." She shrugs. "Can I go now?"
"Nope," I smirk and step towards the door.
"You fucking liar," She leaps to her feet and tries to jump on me, but Brutus grabs her. He has her by the neck while she struggles to get free.
Brutus's bear growls at the vampire. "Can I kill it?" He asks.
"Sure," I respond, and Brutus snaps her neck like a twig. We walk out of the cell to the last one. The last vampire is cowering in the corner, and I see he is a mere child. I can't help but have a sliver of empathy for him. "Good god, he looks twelve," I say to Pops and Brutus.
The young vampire looks up at us with utter fear while trembling. "I didn't want this," He cries out. "I didn't want to be a vampire."
I hand the silver knife to Brutus and approach the young vampire. "Do you have a name?" I ask him.
"Heath," He mumbles. "I didn't want to be a vampire, sir. I sure as hell didn't want to attack your pack," He sniffles.
"Come sit," I gesture to the bed. "Let's talk."
"No, you are going to kill me." He shakes his head.
"No, I promise I won't kill you," I tell him and hold up my hands. "See no knife."
"The large man has it," Heath points to Brutus.
Brutus sets the knife on the floor.
"Come on," I say to Heath.
Heath hesitantly slinks to the bed. I sit on the wooden chair and look at him. "How old are you?" I ask.
"I was sixteen when I was turned. After the leader killed my parents, I was taken from my house," Heath sniffles. "I have some ability that he wanted. But all I can do is move water," Visit Job nib.com to read the complete chapters for free. Heath waves his hand, and water droplets from the walls form into a sphere. "That's impressive," I say to him. "Who is the leader?" I ask him.
Heath releases the sphere, and water sprays everywhere. "He'll kill me."
"Look, if you help us, we will help you," I tell Heath.
He hugs his thin legs to his body. "I think his name is Dreyfuss, but we all call him Master. The coven meets in some old mansion."Heath explains.
"Do you know where this mansion is?" I ask him.
Heath nods. "It's in the woods."
"Can you maybe take us there?" I ask gently.
Heath shakes his head. "He'll kill me."
"Look, we will protect you if you help," I tell Heath.
"You are werewolves. You want to kill me," Heath glares at me.
"Not if you help. Look, my mate was taken, and I need to find her," I say gently.
Heath straightens up. He eyes Pops and then Brutus. "I want to find my grandmother. She is a witch, but she'll still accept me."
"Okay, if you help me find my mate, I will take you to your grandmother personally," I say to him. "I swear on the Goddess Selene." I cross my heart.
"Fine. Do you have a map?" Heath asks.
I stand up. "Of course we do. Come on," I hold my hand out to Heath.
"What are you doing, Magnus?" Pops asks.
"We are going to the office to look at maps," I tell him.
"Do you trust this bloodsucker?" Pops glares at the boy.
I look at Heath. "I don't think anyone is trusting anyone right now. Right, Heath?"
He shrugs and chuckles. "Right, Magnus," Heath smirks.
"Are you hungry?" I ask. "There is probably blood in the hospital." I lead Heath out of the cell, with Pops and Brutus taking up the rear. "Look, if you try to run, I will send my giant friend after you."
Heath looks back at Brutus with wide eyes. "I won't run, I promise." We pass the other cells, and Heath stares at the still bodies of the other vampires.
"I'm sorry I killed your friends," I say to him.
"They weren't my friends," Heath shudders. "None of them were my friends."
We exit the cells, and Heath doesn't seem bothered by the setting sun. "How are you able to be out in the sun?"
"Master gives us some potion that allows us to walk in the sunshine," Heath replied.
Max walks toward us with Dulce and Chance. "What the hell are you doing with that bloodsucker?" My brother snarls.
"Easy, Max. He is going to help me find Naomi," I pat my brother.
"It's a bloodsucker," Max sneers.
Dulce looks Heath up and down. "He's a kid," She gestures.
Heath huddles close to me.
"He just wants to see his grandmother," I tell Max. "Now, I am going to your office to show the kid some maps. He may have a lead on where Naomi is."
Naomi
My head feels like a ton of bricks is on it as I come to. I blink open my eyes and notice I lie on some old musty bed in an old dirty room. I slowly sit up, and dizziness makes me lie back down. 'Ruby?' I call to my wolf, and there is silence. I only have a vague recollection of what happened.
I was leading Mrs. Helfer to the safe house during an attack, and the next thing I knew, I was captured and blacked out. I wonder if Mrs. Helfer is alright as I try sitting up again. I am not tied up to the bed and try standing up only to fall again. I feel queasy and end up barfing on the floor by the bed. I lay down for a moment. The air is full of dust, and it smells like mold and mildew in this room.
The door opens, and I freeze as a familiar scent hits me. The smell of popcorn almost makes my mouth water until I remember who it belongs to. I sit up slowly and look into the face of my first mate.
"Hello Naomi," He speaks to me with an evil grin.
"Josh," I respond.
