Revenge After rebirth (Mayra and Anderson)

Chapter 50

"It's 7:30 p.m. now. You should get up. You can sleep after you've had dinner."

Mayra woke up and began to distance herself from Anderson's thigh. As she knelt on the bed, he reached out to smooth her hair. He then got up and retrieved a pair of pink slippers from her closet, placing them next to her bed.

He'd never given such treatment to anyone, even Isabel. However, Mayra had no idea how privileged she was.

She splashed some water on her face in the bathroom, but she was still tired. Yawning, she went out of the bathroom and found out Anderson on her phone. She snatched it away from him just as he was about to turn it on.

"Andy, you've got to respect my privacy. You can't just take my phone as you like."

"Do you have your own little secrets now?"

Mayra shoved her phone in her pocket. "You shouldn't have looked at my phone regardless of whether I have any secrets."

Isabel popped into the room with a smile. "You guys! I heard you bickering from the corridor when I came up. Andy, why are you teasing Mayra like a child now? Right, let's all head down to eat. The food's running cold."

Mayra tied her hair up and was secretly relieved that he probably didn't discover anything. Otherwise, he could've killed her with his piercing cold gaze.

The dining table downstairs was laden with delectable dishes. Three sets of tableware were prepared, and Anderson's seat was at the head of the table.

Isabel sat on his left as his fiancée. Mayra's designated seat was beside Isabel instead of Anderson. She was unfazed though.

She sat down swiftly and began

scowl of shrimp. One of

the maids scowled at her. Aware that she was Anderson's guest, the maid reminded her, "Ms. Mayra you're supposed to start eating only after Mr. Anderson begins his course."

Mayra was flustered. How could she forget that she was supposed to act like she was here for the first time? In her past life, she wasn't bound by any rutes in the mansion. Indeed, the upper-crust families had a litany of rufes.

She set down her utensils sheepishly after being reprimanded. "I'm sorry! I didn't know because it's my first time here." Her tone grew weaker as she spoke.

"Since when you're in charge of the rules here?" Anderson descended the stairs. He had already changed into his casual clothes, exuding an air of indifference. He frowned when he saw Mayra's seat. "Who arranged the seating?"

A tangible tension filled the air. The maid earlier was at a loss for words. Even Isabel remained silent when she heard his stern tone.

Mayra wondered if Anderson was really that intimidating. Well, he could be when he was expressionless, but he was easy to talk to most of the time. It would always work once she flattered him for a bit.

She thought it was easiest to coax him as long as she didn't cross his limits.

One of the maids stepped forward, quivering as she spoke. "It was my mistake. I'm sorry, Mr. Anderson. I'll rearrange Ms. Mayra's seat now."NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
