Revenge Against My Ex-husband

Chapter 225 Beating Her at Her Own Game

Chapter 225 Beating Her at Her Own Game

Irene naturally did not know that Nathan had been tricked. She felt the same way as Jordan did.

Nathan had called her a long time ago to say that he would return to Haverland. Why was he still not

back?

Irene was worried about Nathan, but Edric came to see her, telling her that Margaret had woken up and

was worried about her and Eden. She wanted to see them with her own eyes, so he asked Irene to go

to the hospital with Eden to visit Margaret.

Hearing that Margaret had woken up, Irene was elated. Margaret had been in a coma for a long time,

and Irene had been very worried. All her previous resentment towards Margaret had disappeared after

the latter was comatose.

However, Irene was slightly worried that Marie might recognise them if they brought Eden along to visit

Margaret at the hospital. Edric reassured her that there was nothing to be worried about. Marie was

busy enough with her own affairs and had no time to pay attention to them. After she was rest assured,

Irene brought Eden to the hospital with her.

Margaret laid on the bed and as she saw a pregnant Irene entering while holding Eden's hand, she

became excited. Her words got jumbled due to her emotions, "Y-You're okay? That's great!"

"Yes, we are. You can focus on making sure you get better," Irene replied. Margaret nodded and asked,

"Is the baby alright?"

"Yes. The baby is doing fine."

"Pardon my poor memory, but when are you due?" Margaret asked.

"In less than two months," Irene answered.

"I've been in a coma for that long?" Margaret sighed, "Well, as long as you are all healthy and safe,

then I have no more regrets in my heart."

Irene was not used to Margaret's sudden emotional words, but she felt a little touched as she looked at

her smiling eyes. Margaret had changed a lot. No wonder they said one could face anything once they

had experienced death once. Margaret was too a person who had died once. After going through a life-

and-death experience, she now lacked the arrogance she once had. She was now brimming with love

and care. She smiled at Margaret and said, "Take care of yourself so that Edric can work with ease in

his mind."

Margaret nodded. She used to dislike Irene, but now, it was the total opposite. She had been lying in

bed and thinking back about the past each day.The more she thought about them, the more she felt

that she had been wrong. She apologised, "Irene, I'm so sorry for everything I've done." Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

"There's no need to apologize for that. It's all in the past!"

"Thank you for forgiving me!" Although Irene said that there was no need to apologize, Margaret still

apologized to show her sincerity. She saw Eden peeking timidly at her from behind Irene. She smiled

lovingly and waved to Eden, "Eden, come here. Let me have a look at you."

Eden remained frozen behind Irene. He was still a little afraid of Margaret. Irene held Eden's hand and

said, "Eden, don't be afraid. She's sick and needs someone to comfort her. Eden, go to her to comfort

her, okay?"

With Irene's encouragement, Eden walked out from behind her. Irene led him to the bed and put his

little hands in Margaret's. Margaret held them tightly. Tears rolled down her cheeks, "I'm sorry! I've

wronged both of you! I've made you suffer so much..."

Margaret sobbed. Irene felt sad as she looked at Margaret. Margaret was not a bad person, for she

was only a woman with a more vicious mouth, but she had been manipulated by other people. She

reached out to wipe Margaret's tears. Margaret reached out to hug Irene, bursting into hysterical sobs.

There was regret and bitterness in her cries. Irene could not help but shed tears too. Eden saw her

mother and Margaret hugging each other and crying. He stood on his tiptoes and stretched his little

hands out to wipe off his mother's tears. After that, he helped Margaret to wipe hers too. Seeing how

caring her grandson was, Margaret cried even more. .

Edric stood at the door and watched the scene, wanting to cry as well. He walked in

and gently separated Margaret and Irene, "Mom, don't be sad. You haven't fully recovered. Irene still

has a child. It's not good for everyone for you to cry like this."

Margaret held back her tears and said, "Yes, it's my fault. We shouldn't cry anymore! We should smile

and laugh. It's those b*tches that have hurt us who should cry!"

Irene nodded. Edric took out a handkerchief to wipe Irene's tears, but Irene ignored him, pushing

Edric's hand away. When Margaret saw her gesture, she felt terrible in her heart. Both of them had

once been so loving but she was part of the reason they had become like that. If she had not believed

Marie and Lily, those two lovers would never have been separated. She silently vowed that she would

do her best for her son, Edric to obtain Irene's understanding, and allow him to have a happy life with

his family of four forever.

After staying at the ward for some time, Irene and Eden bid them farewell. Edric had wanted to send

them back in person, but the timing was not right. Marie had not been dealt with yet. He had to settle

Marie first.

Seeing that Edric was having a hard time parting with Irene and Eden, Margaret felt bad, "Edric, you

should get rid of those b*tches as soon as possible. After you get rid of them, you'll have time to

accompany Irene and Eden."

Edric nodded, "I'm dealing with them right now. Don't worry, none of them will be able to escape."

Then, he told Margaret about Loraine being blinded and having a falling out with her son. Margaret was

frustrated upon hearing the news, "I'll let this b*tch die a miserable death."

Edric sneered, "Don't worry, there will be a good show soon. Deborah has already shifted her focus to

Tommy. With Deborah's vicious personality, Tommy's doomsday should not be too far away. We'll be

able to enjoy the show soon."

"What about Marie, that b*tch? How are you going to deal with her?" Margaret saw that Loraine was no

longer in the equation, so she was concerned about Marie.

"Don't worry, the people that are supposed to deal with Marie are already in place. She has no time to

care about other things now."

"What about Lily? That b*tch is also very vicious. What are you going to do with her?"

"The heavens will punish Lily." Edric smiled mysteriously, "Mom, what you need to do now is to

concentrate on getting better. As long as you are safe and healthy, everything else can be taken care of

later on."

Edric said that the person who would deal with Marie was no joke. It was Deborah's cousin, Simon.

After Edric had gone to meet him that day, Simon had thought about it for several days and finally

decided to cooperate with Edric. He told Edric everything about that year.

That year, Myra had asked Steven to go to Cat Alley to pass Marie money, but Marie was not grateful.

She secretly thought about asking Steven and Deborah to sleep together to disgust Myra.

How could she know that she had made a mistake when she was scheming against Deborah? She had

accidentally drank the tea that she had prepared for Deborah and thus the two people that had slept

together that night had been Marie and Steven, instead of Deborah.

After Marie and Steven had done the deed, Deborah saw the bloodstains on the sheet and thought that

she was as beautiful as Myra. She was also jealous that Myra was able to find such a talented and

good-looking man.

Marie took her to see Steven. She casted countless flirtatious glances at Steven, hoping that he would

be interested in her, but Steven only turned a blind eye to her.

Deborah did not feel too good about herself after that. She knew she would never be good enough for

Steven since she had slept with other men in the past. Moreover, the bloodstains left on the bed that

night were Marie's and not hers, hence she ordered Simon to take Marie away, and she went to lie on

Steven's bed instead.

When Steven woke up and saw Deborah lying with him on the bed, he was shocked. Seeing the

bloodstains left by Marie on the bed, he thought that they had been left by Deborah. Although he

regarded Deborah as a virgin, Steven was not moved.

He loved Myra, and other women meant nothing to him. He was afraid that Myra would find out about it

but Deborah took the initiative to reassure him that she would keep it as a secret.

Simon had a crush on Marie. He did not leave after taking Marie away from Steven's room, but instead

had stayed at Marie's house.

Of course, Simon would not give up such a good opportunity, so he took off his clothes and was ready

to do the deed with Marie, but he did not expect Marie to wake up so soon.

Seeing Simon lying naked in bed with her, Marie immediately jumped out of bed. She felt sore and pain

all over her body since she had just finished doing it with Steven. When she saw Simon with her, she

had mistakenly thought that she had an affair with Simon, so she hit and scolded him.

Simon knew that she had misunderstood him and he took this as an opportunity to blackmail her by

admitting that they had slept together. As a result, Marie had to give in to him and slept with him

several times after being threatened.

What happened later was that Marie and Deborah had both gotten pregnant. Marie was not going to

keep the child, but Simon had heard about it and stopped her in the hospital. Marie was not in good

health, but still she had been forced to keep the child.

Marie did not want to give birth to the child, as it was conceived not out of love and she hated it. After

giving birth to the child, she asked Simon to secretly swap Deborah's child with hers and then she

asked him again to send Deborah's child away.

However, Deborah had discovered him just as he was holding Marie's child to swap the children out.

Deborah was furious and fiercely threatened Simon, telling him to keep quiet and to bring Marie's child

back to her.

Simon dared not to ignore Deborah's words. At that time, Deborah was intertwined with many

gangsters in the Cat Alley. She was the boss of them.

Naturally, Simon was afraid of Deborah. He could survive in Cat Alley only because of her. If he had not

had Deborah's help, he would be nothing. So, he had to follow Deborah's orders and he took Marie's

daughter back.

Marie mistakenly thought that the child that Simon brought back was Deborah's child. She did not even

give it a glance and asked Simon to take the child away. Simon followed her instructions and sent the

child to the orphanage.

Of course, Simon had sent the child away obediently because he had observed Marie's child carefully.

The child looked nothing like him, and their blood types were different. He figured that since Marie and

Steven had s*x with each other before that, and she got pregnant at the same time as Deborah, he was

sure that the child had to be Steven's.

Although he had sent the child away, Simon still felt uncomfortable in his heart. Wasn't Marie being too

vicious? He pitied the child, so he secretly took Marie's jade pendant and put it around the child's neck

who had been sent away.

Not long after that, Simon was arrested and put into prison due to a crime, so he naturally knew nothing

about Marie's and Deborah's affairs.

Listening to Simon's words, Edric was very surprised. So, Rowane might be the daughter of Steven

and Marie. He also understood why Marie had spared no efforts in helping Lily. She must have

regarded Lily as her daughter, and treated Rowane, her actual daughter, as Deborah's daughter.

With Marie's ruthlessness, she would never let Rowane live on and ruin her plans. Edric suddenly

realized something horrible. Rowane's sudden disappearance was not due to her wanting to avoid

something, but could instead be that the vicious Marie had already used another method to take care of

her.
