Bonnie said weakly, "Papa has brought them back and allowed them to work here given that they keep
some distance from you."
Sophia didn't know what to say.
Later, when Sophia went back to her bedroom after studying with her daughter for a while, she found
Drake still lying in bed. She approached him and tried to roll up his trousers.
Drake shunned instinctively, "Sophia, what are you doing? Pulling off your husband's trousers in broad
daylight?"
"No! I'm trying to check your knee! Do you feel better now?" Sophia snapped, staring at her husband.
"No, sweetie, I don't think so. But every time I feel hungry, I have to walk to the dining room myself. It
really hurts and it's not helping the recovery. I'm starving now! Can you bring dinner for me and feed
me?"
Rolling her eyes, Sophia retorted, "All right. How about I chew the food for you and feed you with my
mouth?"
"Will you?" Drake asked hopefully.
"Of course not!" Sophia shouted angrily.
"Oh, come on sweetie, be nice to me... Hey, wait a second, what are you doing?" Drake was doing all
he could to avoid Sophia, especially her approaching hands.
"Why don't you show me your knee? You've already recovered, haven't you?"
Drake didn't dare to look into Sophia's eyes, "What? No, no, no."
Sophia shook her head, "Great, I come here to check on my husband but only to find a big baby here.
OK, just stay in your bed and be a good boy. I am leaving." Saying that, Sophia went out of the
bedroom.
Drake paused, momentarily confused. Did he do anything wrong? He only wanted Sophia to care more
about him.
As to Sophia, she ran into one of those handsome boys after leaving the bedroom, but he escaped at
once as if Sophia had been some kind of demon. Though Sophia didn't know how to improve the
situation, she was glad that these boys could keep their jobs.
As an onlooker, Emma called Sophia over, "Sophia, I believe Drake has caused you trouble, right? You
have to understand that when Drake was a child, I could contact him but I wasn't there for him.
Meanwhile, he had to deal with Olivia. Therefore, he didn't know much about maternal love. Now that
he finds his significant other, no wonder sometimes he acts childishly in front of you. It's my fault."
"No, mom, don't say that," Sophia said hastily.
"I should be responsible for what I did. If I had stayed with him, he wouldn't be like this!"
This time, Sophia didn't know how to comfort Emma while Emma continued, "Sophia, I am asking you
don't be mad at him. Will you do that for me? I'll talk to him when it's possible."
Emma's words appeased Sophia's anger and Sophia said, "Mom, I am not mad at him the way you
think. I can see that he knew he did something wrong and tried to grab my attention. Though I'm not so
happy with his childish manner, I won't dislike him for that."
Emma laughed, "It's no doubt that Drake loves you very much. Therefore, please give him some time
and I'll also urge him to act more maturely."
Sophia nodded.
Later at dinner time, Drake showed up voluntarily because no one was going to invite him. Though
Bonnie had attempted to call her Papa, Emma stopped her and said if Drake wouldn't come downstairs NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
himself, he was not allowed to eat dinner.
Drake stared at them with his innocent watery eyes but nobody was going to comfort him. So, the only
thing he could do was try to act like a good boy by sitting down and eating his dinner quietly. However,
this didn't save him from his mother's lecturing.
Laura took pity on Drake so she said, "Come on, Emma. Drake hasn't done anything terrible, has he?"
"Of course he has! The biggest mistake he has made is not believing his own wife. He says he loves
Sophia. But look what he has done, hurting Sophia's feelings! Is this how you love your wife, Drake?"
"I'm sorry. It's all my fault," Drake said obediently.
Laura kept persuading Emma, "Emma, see? He knows he ..."
However, Emma interrupted, "Please stop defending him, Laura. He must learn some lessons today."
Glancing at Drake, Laura said nothing but signed.
After dinner, Drake went back to the bedroom to talk to his wife, "Sophia, you don't like me being so
childish, do you?"
"Do you really want me to say it?" asked Sophia.
"Never mind! I don't want to hear it. I know I was wrong and I'll do my best to get rid of this bad habit."
"That's great!" said Sophia while Drake was looking at her smilingly.
The next day, Drake got up in the early morning and found that he could walk easily. Though his knee
still stung, the skin was recovering quickly. He then looked at his wife and found her also awake.
"Getting up?"
Sophia's mind drifted at first but she soon replied, "Yeah, sure."
"Come and have breakfast," said Drake, sitting down at the dining table.
Sophia joined him and after looking around, she asked, "Where are mom and dad?"
"They took Grandma and Bonnie out for a walk, for it's not good for Grandma's health if she always
stays at home."
Sophia turned around and said, "That's nice."
With breakfast ready, Sophia and Drake ate in silence. After what had happened, the atmosphere
between them became quite awkward. It was Sophia who broke the ice. She thought for a moment and
asked, "Are you going to work today?"
"Yes, there is a project."
"Does that mean you'll become busy?"
Wearing a charming smile, Drake invited, "This project requires a cooperator. What do you think? Are
you interested?"
Sophia pondered and asked: "I believe it's a profitable project that won't lack cooperators. Why me?
What are the requirements?" Sophia asked that because she knew Drake always drew a clear line
between business and family. He wouldn't show her company partiality only because she was his wife.
It would be irresponsible to his employees. Besides, Sophia didn't like that herself.
"I do have some requirements."
"Tell me then."
"Seventy percent of the profit goes to my company while the other thirty for yours."
Sophia paused at her husband's words. The profit distribution was so disproportional that many
companies would not consider the cooperation. However, Sophia knew Drake would compensate her
company in other ways and besides, thirty percent would be quite a lot.
"All right, I'm in," saying that, Sophia added, "but darling, don't talk about work at home the next time. Is
that OK?"
Drake said happily, "I'll do anything you say, sweetie."
After breakfast, both of them went to work.
Before long, the news came that the Riley Group worked with the Skylane Group on a new project.
Many businessmen were quite contemptuous. They believed it was because Sophia was Drake's wife
that the Riley Group would share such a valuable project with the Skylane Group. However, they were
shocked when they saw the proportion of profit distribution. No other big companies would agree with
this unreasonable requirement. But this didn't dismiss the criticism that the cooperation was just a
family business rather than free market competition.
