~REX’S POV~

Greta was already waiting for me when I entered the throne room. I took a seat on my throne.

“I had a minor mishap. I’m hoping you didn’t have to wait long.”

“Certainly not, my lord.”

“Good.”

“As you are already aware, your Reina has returned, but there are a number of things I am unable to comprehend as a man. To begin, I’ve noticed she’s really uneasy around men. I’m not sure what became of her. You are a woman. You have a better chance of winning than I do.”

“If you permit me, my lord, she is your Reina. Speak with her.”

” It would be preferable if she could refrain from giving me a deadly glare whenever our eyes met. She despises me. And she isn’t even allowing me to get close enough to her. You do the talking. Find out what it is about me that she despises so much. Additionally, determine whether she despises me or males in general.”

“Has she grown to hate you because of something you did?”

“Not that I am aware of, although she may have caught a whiff of a woman whom I had the pleasure with yesterday.” I noticed her eyes widening.

“It was before I met her, before Reina, before you said anything. I took a shower, so I doubt it.”

“Okay.”

“Teach her our ways, find out what she enjoys doing, and perhaps find out whether she has ever attended college. So that she can return to school to keep herself occupied in the meantime. What are your thoughts?”

“That is an excellent suggestion, my lord. I’m going to begin by asking her that, and then we’ll see if she wishes to attend school.”

“I placed an order to get her a phone. Because she is unable to speak, she is always scribbling what she wishes to express on a scrap of paper. Let her send a text message instead. Take her to a spa or somewhere similar and get her hair fixed; ensure that no male stylists are nearby, as I have a sense she does not like to be touched by males. Go shopping and do what a woman would do. Here, hand it over to her; it is her card. Please let me know if she intends to return to school so that I may arrange for her to have a vehicle and a driver.”

“I will work on it, my lord. If that’s all, I would like to take my leave, Reina, and I have a lot to do. By the way, how long am I staying here?”

“If you succeed in convincing Reina to trust me, we can set a time limit of three months; if you fail, we can set a time limit of five years.”

“My lord!” Greta exclaimed.

“It is your call, Greta.”

I stepped outside to retrieve the package. I’ve never carried anything, but I’m willing to carry a sack of cement for Reina. I slung the clothes over my shoulder and made my way to our room. She sat on the bed, fiddling with her fingers.

“These are for you, Reina. You can put one on while Greta takes you shopping and uses this to communicate with me going forward.”

She appeared astonished at first, but her demeanor quickly changed, and she began staring at me suspiciously. I could really use any glance, but the one my Reina gives me is terrifying. If not murderous, it is suspicious.

In her eyes, am I a suspect?

She gave a nod. I left her to change her clothes.

~Juno’s POV~

Yesterday, he refused to tell me who he is, or rather what he really is. I’m not sure what I saw, but I’m confident I saw a pair of golden wings.

Why would a human being be endowed with wings?

At the back of my skull, I laughed. I have seen individuals transform into wolves, so anything is conceivable. There is one thing I am uncertain about.

How did I come to know his name was Rex, and what is this other name that keeps ringing in my ears all the time? Is that his given name?

I promised my wolf that I would name his wolf, but I saw something else yesterday that was not a wolf.

Is it OK for me to tell him the name? Why do I have a distinct impression that I know him?

Yet, I am certain that I have never met him before.

Why is he being so sweet to me?

Alex was also pleasant until he gained control of me and began coercing me into having sex.

Will Rex follow suit?

We share a room.

Will he rape and beat me as well?

I was startled by a knock on the door. I approached the door and was greeted by a stunning woman standing and staring at me in devotion. She brushed her fingers across my cheeks.

“You look stunning, Reina, and we welcome your return. I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet you sooner, but I’m glad we did.”

I glanced at her, unable to open my mouth to speak.

“I’m sorry, Reina; the king informed me that he purchased you a phone. Allow me to provide my phone number so that we may interact more effectively.”

She snatched my phone and used it to enter her mobile number.

Why is it that everyone refers to me as Reina?

“Because you are the Reina, and no one except the king is authorized to address you by your given name.”

The king, who is the king? Rex is the king.

“True, Reina; he is king, and you are his Reina. He presented me with this card to present to you. We need to go shopping and tell me, Reina, what is your field of study?”

My educational background is limited to high school graduation.

“Are you interested in attending college or university?”

Yes, I would relish the opportunity.

“The king asked me, so since you said you would like to go back, I’ll let him know and he’ll make the necessary arrangements. Now, let us go to spend his money, and I will not take no for an answer.”

You didn’t tell me your name.

“I’m very sorry, Reina. Please pardon me. I was so ecstatic to finally meet you that I completely forgot about that aspect. My name is Greta, and I’d like to think of myself as a sort of personal assistant to you. Thus, we will begin with your hair. Next, visit a spa, and last, we will discuss apparel. Tomorrow, we’ll determine our course of action. What are your thoughts?”

Is Rex going to be okay with me spending his money?

“Reina, no one will spend his money if you do not. Believe me when I say that he wants you to spend every single penny on that account. Now let’s get going.”
