Salute To The General

Chapter 3523 Engage With You In A Different Capacity

Confronted with Nathan's accusations, Hepburn appeared troubled, showing a desire to respond but ultimately choosing to remain silent.

She wanted to explain to Nathan, but how could she do it in front of all the vampires? I can't just reveal that I decided to become the vampire queen and guide them toward new paths, all to offer an escape for Nathan, can I?

If she were to explain it like that in front of the vampires, it would be likely that they would not accept it, and chaos would ensue on the spot. I'd rather not say anything.

However, her silence only deepened Nathan's misunderstandings of her.

For a moment, she found herself in a dilemma.

Nathan's frown deepened upon witnessing the intricate emotion etched across Hepburn's countenance. It seemed she was torn between speaking her mind and choosing restraint. In a disinterested tone, he inquired, "Do you not want to explain, or do you feel it's unnecessary to explain to me?"

Hepburn still had not spoken anything.

Emerging from the throng of formidable vampires at her rear, a familiar figure advanced, proclaiming loudly, "Queen Hepburn is under no obligation to offer you an explanation." Nathan's gaze fell on the vampire who had bravely stepped forward, only to discover that it was Max.

Max's voice carried a chilly edge as he continued, "Nathan, while you might not harbor a desire to become the vampire king, you lack the authority to thwart others' ambitions for that throne. You reject your lineage and resist leading the vampires toward a resolution, yet you cannot impede Ms. Hepburn from guiding the vampires toward a fresh trajectory. You, yourself, transformed Ms. Hepburn into a vampire, and now you deny her the right to exist as one. Who do you think you are? Her master? Do you aspire to exert absolute control over everything?"

The vampires present at the scene were all coldly staring at Nathan.

It was apparent that their attitude aligned with Max's.

Upon absorbing Max's words, Nathan could not help but experience a fleeting pang of guilt, his eyes betraying a hint of remorse as he recalled his role in Hepburn's transformation into a vampire. Nevertheless, his gaze swiftly regained its resolute composure.

Instead of paying attention to Max, he calmly looked at Hepburn and asked lightly, "Do you share the same sentiments as what he just said?"

Hepburn maintained her silence, leaving Nathan uncertain whether her silence stemmed from an inability to provide an explanation or a deliberate choice not to elaborate further.

Nathan added, "If you don't speak up, I'll take it as your agreement."

A subtle shift crossed Hepburn's expression. She intuited a faint notion that Nathan had begun to misconstrue her, leading to a shift in his demeanor toward her.

She deliberated for a long time before ultimately responding with silence.

Nathan went here with the intention of asking Hepburn for an explanation, but he did not expect this attitude from Hepburn.

He was getting somewhat frustrated too.

The vampires, upon witnessing how aggressive Nathan was in questioning their queen, began to harbor hostility toward him. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

Max's voice regained its indifferent tone as he resumed. "Nathan, I've already spoken my piece. Who is Ms. Hepburn to you? Your paramour or your servant? Why should she owe you an explanation? Who do you believe you are? Furthermore, Ms Hepburn now stands as the queen of our lineage. It seems rather inappropriate for you to display such disrespect toward our queen."

Max's last remark carried a subtle hint of a threat.

He offered Nathan an indirect caution, implying that he should mind his tone, given that Hepburn had ascended to the position of the vampire queen. Displaying disrespect toward her could be interpreted as an act of hostility to the vampires. Having once triumphed over Herod, Nathan did not perceive vampires as a significant threat to him.

Moreover, consumed by anger in that very instant, he remained impervious to Max's cautionary words.

After a fleeting glance at Hepburn, Max, and the assembled vampires, Nathan spoke with an indifferent

demeanor. "Hepburn, my originalet

intent was to have a friendly conversation with you. But since you've chosen not to communicate, I't have to engage with you in a different capacity."

"Now, in my capacity as the commander-in-chief of the human alliance, I've got a question for you, the vampires Why have you forsaken your principles and gone against the vow you once made not to interfere with human society or cause harm to mankind? Did you truly think that my earlier warning-that I would wipe you all out if you dared to harm humans again-was just empty talk?" When those words came out of Nathan's mouth, an overwhelming sense of pressure enveloped all the vampires in attendance.

The figure before them was none other than the individual who had single-handedly ventured into the Land of Eternal Night, concealed beneath the Dark Canopy, and personally vanquished Herod - the most formidable God of War on Earth!
