Chapter 3710 The God King Leads The Battle
The moment Medille saw Yelena reappear, his initial shock quickly transitioned to slight anger, then a sense of relief.
Even in war, a couple must fight side by side.
Had it not been for Yelena's assistance in the past, he might not have been able to ascend to the throne of God King as smoothly as he did.
In the face of a formidable adversary, with admirals like Morgon and King William fallen in battle, a manpower shortage had become a pressing issue. Consequently, he found himself in dire need of a capable ally to join him in the fight. Yelena emerged at just the right time.
Furthermore, when he angrily ordered his subordinates to drag out the four Marshalls for execution, a pang of regret had tugged at his heart after the command had left his lips.
Yelena's prohibition against executing the Marshalls was also, in a way, offering him a way out.
He rose from his seat, took a couple of steps forward, and feigned surprise as he inquired, "What brings you here?"
Yelena offered a slight bow in a sign of respect and then spoke with sincerity. "I did not come here because I want to, but because I learned of your intention to execute the four Marshalls. I had no other choice but to come and implore mercy on their behalf. Your Majesty, in this critical moment when we confront a formidable adversary, it is not the time to eliminate your own formidable subordinates. I implore you to grant them a chance, allowing them the opportunity to rectify their mistakes and make amends."
In accordance with her plea, Medille replied, "Since you've put it that way, I suppose I can afford to grant them another opportunity."
Having uttered those words, he directed a piercing glare at Filo and the others who were kneeling on the ground, his tone icy as he stated, "Your transgressions have been duly recorded. For the time being, I shall spare your lives. Join me in the battle in Tribulation Sphere. If you fail to atone for your sins on the front lines, I'll chop off your heads sooner or later."
Filo and the others hastily expressed their gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Your Majesty, for your mercy."
Medille scoffed and remarked, "If you wish to express your gratitude, thank the Goddess Queen, not me. It was she who interceded on your behalf and secured this chance for you."
Filo and the others wasted no time. They promptly turned toward Yelena, expressing their heartfelt gratitude.
Yelena responded with a smile, saying, "There's no need for thanks. My only wish is that you fight valiantly in the impending battles and kill more foes to wash away the humiliation from previous setbacks." Filo and the others responded, "Roger that!"
Yelena turned her gaze to Medille and inquired, "Your Majesty, did you just say that you intend to personally lead the battle against the enemy?"
All the paladins and sages looked at Medille as well.
Medille nodded solemnly. "Indeed, I initially had confidence that King William and his forces could swiftly eradicate the enemies, but I didn't anticipate this severe setback. Our clan is now in grave peril, and I can no longer remain passive. I will
personally lead the Gods' army into Tribulation Sphere for a battle to the death against Nathan. The outcome of this battle will determine the fate of our clan, as well as the destiny of these invading clans. If I should fail, our clan will descend into decline. However, if I emerge victorious, I will seize the opportunity and annihilate all of these clans."
Upon hearing that Medille would personally lead the battle, the paladins and sages were overcome with extraordinary zeal. They began shouting with excitement, "Victory to the Gods! Victory to the Gods!" Medille raised his hand, signaling for everyone to be quiet.
He looked at Yelena, his gaze filled with anticipation as he asked, "My queen, you wouldn't disapprove of me leading the expedition, would you?"
Yelena chuckled. "How could that be possible? I not only agree with your decision but also wish to offer myself as your vanguard general. I want to personally lead the way for you and annihilate all our foes."
Medille exclaimed with enthusiasm, "Splendid! You shall lead the vanguard, and I will command the Gods' army. Together, as husband and wife, we will wage this decisive battle against Nathan. Our unity guarantees victory!"
Filo, Kilan, Dunn, and Fleming exchanged glances and simultaneously proclaimed, "The four of us are willing to follow and take the lead in battle, seeking redemption through our actions." Medille laughed. "All right, it's settled!"
The news of the Gods uniting their
forces, with the God King Medille leading the charge and the Goddess Queen Yelena as the vanguard
decisive battle against Nathnet
general, all in preparation for a
swiftly reached Adversia within Tribulation Sphere and came to the attention of Nathan and his
comrades.
Eve's countenance was marked with concern as she remarked, "Commander Cross, Medille himself is heading our way!"novelbin
Nathan's expression remained
composed as he responded in a measured tone, "A confrontation between him and me was always a matter of destiny. Sooner or later, it had to come to pass. Now that he's arrived, it's time for us to engage in a battle to the death."
"Issue the command," Nathan declared firmly, "the entire army must prepare for battle!" "Yes, Commander Cross!"
