Chapter 32 A LITTLE ENEMY
The door to a club flung open and a tall dark man with tattoos drawn over his whole body walked in, he nod his head in greeting to the two guards at the door and proceeded to a dark corner where a figure in a hoodie is sporting a glass of wine in hand.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
He settled himself on the couch opposite the figure and crossed his leg as he waited for the person to speak up.
“Did you get it?” A feminine voice whispered, he leaned forward in his seat and pushed his hand into the inner of his suit, pull out a blue folder, and passed it to her.
“I told you, you can never find any secret agent other than me. I can find the bones of someone who has been buried thousands of years ago,” the man boasted.
The lady scoffed and tilted her head up a little but all that man could see is the dark blood-red lipstick on her lip. He tried getting a better view of his client but she didn’t give him the chance to see anything.
She leaned back into the darkness, the glass of wine in her hand as she flipped through the pages on the folder.
“Is everything I asked for here?” She scans the pages, word for word. To make sure everything she asked for has been submitted.
“Everything single thing you asked me to find out, even down to the tiniest details,” the man grinned, his face beaming with pride for doing a job well done.
The lady snapped the folder close and looked up at the tattooed man from the darkness. “What is your name?” She asked.
“Spider,” he furrowed his brows at her, wondering why she was asking his name when she already knew who he was.
“I know what your street name is, and trust me, it doesn’t suit you,” she paused, accessing his facial features before proceeding with her speech. “I am talking about your birth name, not your street name,” her voice sounded so cold.
“Why do you want to know?” He leaned back in his seat and schooled his expression.
The lady glared at him for a minute, her eyes narrowed on his face.
“You can come in handy as a sidekick whenever I need you, your job will be to help me get things done and you will get paid.”
“What kind of jobs?”
“What kind of jobs do you have to offer in the first place?” She tilt her head again and this time, he was able to see the tip of her nose.
“Matthias,” he answered her instead.
“Huh?”
“My name is Matthias,” he repeated for her to hear.
“Good; I will let you know when I have another job for you Matthias, and you will do well to make sure my job is well done,” downing the last of the wine, she picked up her bag and stood up from the couch she is sitting on.
“I already sent the money to your account, I will call you so soon… You should pick up my call whenever it is that I call you. I don’t like to be delayed.” With that, she walked out of the club, her hat covering her face so well, that it was hard for people to catch a glimpse of her.
Matthias picked up the card on the table and stared at it for so long before getting up from the couch, he sauntered out of the club and got on his bike, zooming off at once.

Cora walked into her mansion, the expression on her face was enough to let the maids know not to go near her. She dropped her bag on the couch and plopped down on it.
Her mind reeling from different thoughts, she still couldn’t get the scene of Lexi and Aziz out of her head. That was supposed to her and not that gold digger.
She was supposed to be the only one Aziz would want to touch like that, she was the only one who has the right to hold him and touch him whichever way she like back then, so what changed?
“Get me a glass of wine,” she snapped and the maids scrambled around.
Cora decided in her heart at the moment she walked in on Lexi claiming her man for herself, that she would do everything now to have him by her side, and if that includes killing Lexi and her mother, she will definitely kill them without a second thought.
No one messes with her and goes scot-free, no one takes what belongs to Cora Danvers and live to tell the details, she desperately wants to teach Lexi a lesson, but she knew Aziz so well.
He would arrest her mother without trying to investigate and he would have her tortured until Lexi is back in good shape. Cora doesn’t want her mother to suffer and that is why her hands her tied right now.
The only assurance she has right now is that whatever is going on between them would soon wane out and Aziz would cast her aside, and that is when she would—
“Here is your wine, young ma’am,” Cora glared at the maid who interrupted her thoughts, she took the glass of wine off the tray and brought it closer to her mouth.
The maid remained on her knee with her head bowed, waiting for Cora to dismiss her.
“What the hell is this?” Cora screamed, turning her attention to the maid on her knee. “Are you trying to poison me?”
“No ma’am, I have no intention to do such a thing,” the maid shook her head vigorously, pleading for her life to be spared.
Everyone in the house knew Cora to be merciless, one mistake and she would have you thrashed until you are almost lifeless and then have you thrown out of the house like a piece of trash.
“I asked for a glass of wine, not a glass of poison,” the frown on Cora’s face deepened each second and the maid was certain she is doomed.
The confusion on her face didn’t match the pain in her heart right now, Cora would not let her go scot-free.
“I-I don’t understand what y-you are saying ma’am, I brought you wine j-just as you asked for,” crying would not change Cora’s heart, but the maid try to save herself by begging.
“You call this wine? You call this tasteless, cheap thing wine?”
“But-”
Her words were interrupted when Cora splashed the wine on her face and threw the glass at her.
“You have the nerve to argue with me?” Cora yelled and the maid flinched back, her head hung low. Trails of blood dripped down her cheek and her neck from the cut the glass gave her, the sound of heavy footfall fill the room and two big hands landed on her shoulder.
The maid cried and cried, pleading to be spared, but Cora paid deaf ears to her. The sound of her pain-filled scream was soon heard and the other maids cry for her in their servant’s quarter.
Cora smirked, stood up from the couch and walked to her room, a victorious smile on her face as the maid’s scream start to dwindle with each step she took to her room.
“I will get rid of you so soon Lexi, you and that gold-digging bitch you call another, I will get you out of Aziz’s life and wipe you from the face of the earth,” she laughed maniacally, her shrill laughter mingling with the cry of the maid outside the mansion, and the other maids cringed.
Their fear of being the next victim doubled and they cried even more. Nora, the oldest and the chief maid of the house pick up the tray on the floor, she tipped the tray to the side and the liquid on it dropped onto her palm.
She brought it to her mouth and tasted it, her eyes widened and she gasped.
“What is it, Nana?” One maid asked her as they watch her in awe.
Nana was what the other maids addressed her with since she is the oldest amongst them.
“You have to be careful from now on, if you ma’am is angry and she requested for anything, ask her precisely what she wants and how she wants it, okay?” The maids nod their heads, still confused at her action.
She dismissed them and stared up at the stairs that Cora just climbed, shaking her head in pain.
The maid (petal) that was just beaten had precisely brought Cora’s favourite wine, yet she found it tasteless and have the poor girl tortured for no reason.
“How long will Tania continue to support your malicious act?” Nana shook her head, staring at the stairs again before walking away from the living room.
