It’s a family annual meeting for the Monteverde’s. All of the other branches are here to see their relatives. They are just creating connections to each other. Especially to the main branch of the family. Who owns the Companies and hidden treasures of family from the ancestors.

Lorenzo is famous among the family, Because the head of the family really favoured him. All what he wants he just easily receives from his Grandfather. This is also the reason why the other relatives secretly envy Lorenzo. Because all the good and luxury things he just receives easily without blood and sweat. And second to Lorenzo is Xander, The self made Billionaire of the family. If Lorenzo is the Joy of the head of the family then Xander is the pride. The one always gets praises because of his outstanding performance and contribution towards the family.

The two of them are the real rivals for succession. And the others are just little mice who want to be known by their Grandfather.

The annual meeting is located at the ancestors mansion located at the darkest and deepest part of Sierra Madre. It was invisible to the people except for the part of the family. Lorenzo is happily having a conversation towards his other relatives and cousins. And he is with his beautiful wife Chantal. His trophy wife and the first love of Xander.

Chantal Serdaun Monteverde, The Daughter of the Business Tycoon Alfredo Serdaun. The owner of Serdaun Mining Company. Inc.. She is the most beautiful, elegant and perfect daughter of Alfredo. That makes him known in the High society. Chantal has a beautiful and stable relationship with the Richest people in the society. That is the reason why Lorenzo immediately married Chantal when she turned 20 years old. He immediately put the leash on the trophy he wanted.

” Chantal, You can go to other wives of my relatives. You know what to do” Lorenzo simply whispered to her wife’s ears. Chantal just gently smiled at her husband and obediently followed his command. She started to walk away from her husband and walk towards the group of wives of her husband’s relatives.

” Good Evening” Chantal softly greeted the other wives. The wives immediately face Chantal as they give greetings to her.

” Good evening too, Mrs. Monteverde, You look so gorgeous as ever” One of the distant relatives greeted Chantal.

” Oh, Thank you for the compliment. You too, You look great today” Chantal answered as she returned the compliment that was given to her.

The wives and chantal had a good conversation. They are all talking about their children and their husband’s businesses and Of Course about the latest fashion and trends for rich people.

” Oh, Did you hear? Xander is already married” One of the wives said that makes the eyes of chantal sparks. It means that this is what she is waiting to hear.

” Really? He is married? How come? Wait, How did you know?” One of the wives asked.

” Did you know it, Mrs. Monteverde? Your husband and Xander are close right? ”

Chantal just softly laugh because of what one of the wives said.

” Well, They are quite close but we didn’t know that he is married,” Chantal answered.

” Tsk! How ungrateful man. He should tell your family that he is married because he has a close relationship with your husband and they are like brothers. That is what my husband said to me” One of the wives comments makes Chantal smile.

” No, It’s okay. We understand him if he doesn’t invite or tell us that he is getting married. It’s a battle of succession after all” Chantal softly explained. That makes the wives gasp out of shock and realization.

The Battle of Succession will begin soon at the family dinner. And it makes sense of the unexpected marriage of Xander.

” He surely want to win the game ”

A sly smile formed into Chantal’s face as she heard all the comments of the wives about Xander.

” Mrs. Refrode, How did you know that Xander is married?” One of the wives ask that makes Mrs. Refrode, Startled a little bit.

” Well, one of my nephews is working at the city hall. And she saw the marriage certificate of Xander and she also saw Rolando picking up the documents.” Mrs. Refrode explained.

Chantal just smiles because of the help that she will receive in the near future.

DR. KRIZA is just staring at Chantal. The wife of her one of annoying cousin. Lorenzo Monteverde. She can’t believe that so many people fall for the charm of Chantal. Truly, Her cousin Lorenzo is a smart tactician. He really chose a wife who can make connections for him. Dr. Kriza gets another glass of champagne and she drinks it straight. She can’t believe that she is there in the Family annual meeting. She really doesn’t want to go here but her father is sick because of food poisoning. And as the eldest child she needs to attend the meeting as their family representative. Even though she is no longer using the last name and she already gave up her rights. She still has a pass to attend social gatherings of the family as the eldest child.

” I can’t believe this” Dr. Kriza said as her eyes widened when he saw Xander walking towards her.

‘ Ahhh… Sh*t! I wish it’s not a chores’

” Kriza, you are here” Xander coldly said as he went to the side of his cousin.

” Obviously, this is the curse of being an eldest child” Dr. Kriza answered as she got another glass of champagne from the servant.

” By the way, congrats on your marriage” Dr. Kriza said as she drank her champagne.

” It’s too early for the Congratulations. Save it, In the family dinner” Xander coldly answered that makes Dr. Kriza rolled her eyes.

She can’t believe that once in her life she believes that her cousin is the lover of her husband. She can’t believe what she is thinking at that time.

Dr. Kriza stood up straight when she saw Chantal walking towards their direction. ” Here come the hyenas ” She murmured as she took a sip of her champagne.

” Good evening Xander” Chantal greeted Xander while wearing a bright smile that could blind anyone. Except for the two in front of her.

” And Good evening Kriza” Chantal greeted with her most fake smile. It’s not a secret that Chantal and Dr. Kriza doesn’t have a good relationship.

” Good evening to you also Chantal” Dr. Kriza casually said as she raised her glass.

Chantal just smile at Dr. Kriza before she faces Xander who is now as cold as ice. ” Xander, Congratulations on your wedding day!” Chantal congratulated as she showed her ingenuine smile to Xander.

” Thank you,” Xander coldly answered.

Chantal ignores the cold treatment that she is receiving from Xander as she continues to have a conversation with him. Even though the answer of Xander is just a piece of words.

Dr. Kriza just rolled her eyes on what she is witnessing right now. A two-faced woman and her cold cousin. Dr. Kriza look at the other side to avoid the view of the two people who have annoyed her whole life. But when she turned on the other side she saw Lorenzo walking towards their direction wearing a smug face.

” What the f*ck” The only thing she said.

” Baby! You are here!” Lorenzo happily said as he immediately grabbed the waist of chantal and gave her a kiss on her lips.

” You’re talking to them?” Lorenzo asks Chantal to answer in a nod.

” Yes, I’m just here to congratulate Xander for his married life. Because after all he gets married” Chantal said out of sarcasm.

Dr. Kriza just shook her head because of what this woman said to her cousin. In her mind if she saw the wife of her cousin she would be eaten in envy because of her beauty.

” Oh, Congratulations Xander for your Marriage. Now, I’m curious who is this lucky girl that you married? Is she beautiful like my Chantal?” Lorenzo proudly said as she looks at her wife’s face.

” I doubt it. Chantal is the most beautiful woman in the world. I just hope that the woman you get married to is half as beautiful as my wife. I mean my wife is your standard because he is your first love” Xander bluntly said that makes Dr. Kriza covers her mouth to prevent herself from making noise.

Dr. Kriza looks at her cousin Xander, She is watching his expression and what will be his answer to Lorenzo.

” Yes, She is beautiful. I know my standard” Xander said as he glanced at Chantal.

” Can’t wait to see her,” Lorenzo said Loudly that made the others hear his voice.
