Chapter 153
His words cut through her skin to her bones. She had forgotten how capable he was.
"I got it wrong. It was 150 thousand dollars. I remembered the wrong amount." Jessica quickly changed her words. Her chest tightened and she blamed herself for forgetting to check beforehand.
"150 thousand dollars?" Trevor put down the document. He got up and walked past the desk to stand before her.
"Yes, 150 thousand dollars." Jessica stepped back as he approached.
"You didn't hesitate to spend 750 thousand dollars to save me. Yet now you're betraying me for 150 thousand dollars? You should come up with a better script if you wish to put on a show, Miss Secretary." His voice was low and his gaze glinted evilly. Jessica watched him with a feeling she couldn't explain.
"Does he really know the truth? That's impossible. How could he see through Old Mr. Gulliford's plan?"
"I... I was confused. That's why I made such a stupid decision." Jessica turned her head and pretended to be remorseful.
"Is that so?" Trevor narrowed his eyes dangerously. Yet in he laughed loudly the next moment and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.
"I forgive you since it was a moment of folly. Just don't make the same mistake next time," He said lightly as if it was a trifling matter that the company's secrets were leaked.
"Mr. Gulliford, how can you convince the public like that? You should just fire me. I don't want to make things difficult for you either. How about I resign?"
"Don't want to make things difficult for me?" Trevor couldn't help himself when he saw Jessica's serious expression. He moved closer and lowered his head to kiss her.
Jessica pushed him away at once. Traces of anger could be seen in her eyes. "What are you doing?"Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Become my wife if you don't want to make things difficult for me. It doesn't matter if you sell information or even the Gulliford Group - nobody will dare say anything as long as you become Mrs. Gulliford. It's our own family's problem after all," Trevor reasoned as if giving Jessica a solution to the problem.
"My apologies, Mr. Gulliford. I have

told you many times not to make such meaningless jokes. Moreover, I'm not an easy woman. Please don't flirt with me so casually."
Jessica wiped her lips fiercely as if trying to clean away the traces of his kiss. "How could he treat me like this? Does he behave this way with anyone?"
"I said before that it's impossible for

me to fire you. Be good and go back to your seat. I'll call you if I need anything. Trevor lifted his hand pat henhead, his eyes full of adoration. He turned to return to his desk.
Jessica frowned. She wanted to speak up but wasn't sure how to.
This was Old Mr. Gulliford's plan after all. He was the one who promised her that he would settle the matter.
She would obediently disappear from Trevor's side as long as she could get away from him.
"Relax. You won't be able to leave." Trevor smirked in amusement when he saw her expression.
Nobody could make her leave his side. He was determined to be with her till the end of days.
Jessica pursed her lips and turned to sit at her desk. Her slender fingers tapped against the keyboard on her desk.
She was in an extremely bad mood and she glanced occasionally at Trevor, who was handling the company's matters with a serious look on his face.
A sudden knock resounded at the door.
"Come in!" Trevor said.
"Mr. Gulliford, Old Mr. Gulliford
knows what happened. He has instructed me to escort Jessica out, as well as to prepare a new personal secretary for you."
A figure walked out from behind Martin just after he finished speaking.
