Millle was in the middle of her skincare routine when she heard Terrence cursing downstairs. ” Winston has gone too far! How could he hold up Kennedy’s cargo in the dead of the night?”

Millie opened her room door and leaned on the railing on the second floor, observing Terrence’s outburst. “What does Kennedy’s shipment have to do with you, Dad?” she asked.

Terrence looked up and replied sharply, “It has nothing to do with me now, but we’re about to collaborate with him. If the Sullivan Corporation runs into trouble, our company will be affected too!”

“What’s going on with Winston? He usually never involves himself with customs matters,” he added, frustration evident in his voice.

Millie pressed her lips together. As her hands rested on the railing, she got lost in thought.

“There’s one more issue I haven’t vented about.” Terrence lifted his head to gaze at Millie. “He somehow managed to provoke William Pearson, and now not only is William refusing to work with us, but Winston has also stopped us from collaborating with him.”

Millie’s gaze darkened upon hearing William’s name. “Dad, William isn’t a good person.”

“How many decent people can you find in the business world? You’ve never interacted with him, so how can you be so sure?” Terrence scoffed. At that point, his anger had gotten the best of him.

However, as soon as those words left his mouth, he began to calm down. He sighed, settled onto the couch, and took a sip of his coffee.

Perhaps Winston had his reasons for doing so.

“As soon as Kennedy showed up, he immediately clashed with Winston. Is he really the kind of person

we want to do business with?” Millie asked Terrence.

Terrence frowned and glanced at his daughter.

Millie calmly continued, “Dad, I bumped into Winston while playing tennis. He told me we should stay away from Kennedy.”

“Do they know each other well?” Terrence inquired, puzzled.

Millie shook her head. “I don’t know. But Winston seemed really serious about it. Kennedy… There’s something off about him. Besides, I don’t remember hearing much about him before.”

Terrence frowned, his expression growing increasingly troubled. It seemed that he needed to be extra cautious with Kennedy.

“Alright, I understand. Thanks, Mills.”

After saying that, Terrence waved, signaling Millie to go rest.

Millie smiled and said, “Dad, if anything comes up and you don’t want Mom to worry, just tell me. I’ll help you out.”

“You?” Terrence was already relieved she wasn’t giving him more to stress about.

Millie chuckled softly and returned to her room.

Millie went to work as usual. When she arrived, she saw a large bouquet of roses sitting in the office. She placed her pen into the pocket of her white coat and glanced around.

“Who are these flowers for?” Millie asked Hazel. Her face even lit up with curiosity as she sniffed the

roses.

Hazel emerged from the nurses‘ station and hurriedly replied, “They’re for Dr. Xander!”

“Oh? Dr. Xander, are you starting a new romance?” Millie teased as she saw Vanessa approaching

from the side.

“Cut it out! There’s no new romance. It’s just a classmate of mine.”

Vanessa went up to Millie before asking, “Dr. Caldwell, I have a dinner appointment tonight. Can we switch our night shifts?”

Millie squinted. A dinner appointment? She was sure Vanessa’s date was the classmate she had mentioned.

“No problem!” Millie gestured an “okay“.

Vanessa chuckled. “Thank you.”

The moment Millie turned, she saw Eli. She couldn’t help but wonder what he was doing there again,

“Ms. Caldwell,” Eli greeted respectfully.

Millie nodded in acknowledgment. Was he there to visit a patient? But Sonny had passed away.

“Ms. Caldwell, could you lead me to Sonny’s ward?” asked Eli.

Although Millie was confused, she nodded anyway. She looked at Eli and inquired, “This man is the mastermind behind Winston’s kidnapping, isn’t he?”

“You know about it?” Eli smiled.

“Of course I do.” Millie chuckled awkwardly. After all, how could she not recognize the person who had stabbed her? It was just that she hadn’t seen his face clearly at the time.
