chapter 148 Forty-Six
chapter 148 Forty-Six
Ryland’s POV
All I wanted to do was touch her, we nearly lost her because I said she could go. Although I wasn’t
entirely at fault but still, I said she could go without us, disobeying Orion, and Thaddeus. Evelyn was to
remain with someone until we changed her or until she agreed to be changed. Thaddeus was holding
back which I was grateful for, he wanted to beat me senseless but didn’t because he doesn’t want to
scare her. I would have preferred the beating at least I would be able to touch her, hold her. This was
worse because she was right in front of me yet so far out of reach.
Evelyn kept stealing glances at me, her guilt hitting me hard. She was in shock that much I could
tell, the entire trip she never uttered a word. Thaddeus dragged her into the kitchen plopping her down
in the chair before he rummaged through the fridge. No one said anything and the tension was so thick
I could almost taste it. Orion and Thaddeus were angry at both of us.
Almost tempted to say something just end the silence. Orion and Thaddeus make grilled cheese
putting in front of her. Evelyn just stares at the plate. She wasn’t hungry, Thaddeus I knew wouldn’t let
her leave till she ate, and I nod toward the plate and she seemed to understand as she bit a corner off
chewing slowly. Orion handed me a plate before offering Thaddeus one. Thaddeus shakes his head.
“I’m not hungry for food” he says, his eyes not leaving Evelyn. Evelyn’s fear hitting me, and I could
tell she didn’t want him feeding on her when he was angry, not after last time when he hurt her. She
had grown to fear his bloodlust and that was wise. I also feared it, the number of times he has drained
me is ridiculous. Draining a Lycan is worse than when he drained Orion. Orion snaps back faster, me
on the other hand would be out for days, Evelyn would be dead.
I move my chair back and Thaddeus eyes snap to mine, he raises an eyebrow in question. He
knows I hate him feeding on me, Orion I can handle he is gentle, but Thaddeus could be cruel and
make it hurt intentionally.
“She is scared” I tell him.
“And you’re not?” He questions knowing exactly how I felt.
“Not as scared as her,” I tell him, as I step closer. Thaddeus regards me carefully.
“You’re still not touching her.” His eyes sparkling in mischief before he jerks me toward him
smashing his lips against mine. I groan, god I missed him, every angry piece of him. He pulls away too
quickly. Arousal flooding the bond and we both turn to see Evelyn watching us. Her thighs pressed
together tightly, and Orion wore a smirk on his face watching her reaction to us.
“You like when I kiss Ryland?” Thaddeus asks her, knowing full well she does like watching us. Her
face flushing at his words. Of course, she did. Just like we all liked watching her with each other. Her
arousal perfuming the room, such a sweet aroma. Thaddeus kisses my neck his tongue running over
my mark and I groan, pressing myself against him before I feel his magic wash over me or the fog as
Evelyn calls it. His teeth sinking into my neck as he tugs me closer, and I moan loudly. Pleasure rolling
over me, usually he didn’t bother when he fed on me, yet he was enjoying Evelyn’s reaction to
watching us. His tongue lapping at my neck, yet I knew his eyes were on her.
Thaddeus teeth leave my neck after a few minutes, the euphoric feeling going with it, and I miss
his touch instantly. Desire coursing through me. “Later, if you behave,” Thaddeus says and my
shoulders sag with disappointment. Orion, I could tell, didn’t agree, he wanted me punished for what
happened to her. I would take whatever punishment they wanted to dish out as long as I could have
her.
Stepping away, I move to Evelyn she looks up at me, and I can see the longing on her face. She
reaches her hand up as I lean down, my hands on the back of her chair. But then she hesitates before
looking between Orion and Thaddeus. She knew this was how Thaddeus was punishing me and she
didn’t want to get me in more trouble. Thaddeus nods, her fingertips brush my cheek. Leaning down, I
kiss her softly before Orion growls stalking off out of the kitchen toward the loungeroom.
“He is mad at me?” she states, her voice sad.
“More me than you,” I tell her, and she nods in understanding.
“That’s enough, finish eating, Evelyn,” Thaddeus tells her, and she looks back at her plate
frowning.
“I’m not hungry,” she whispers but picks up another piece anyway and biting into it. Thaddeus
turns around turning the kettle on.
“Coffee?” he asks, looking at me.
“I will make them,” I tell him, and he nods. Evelyn eats before putting her plate in the sink. She
looks to Thaddeus waiting, not wanting to piss him off any more than he already is.
“You can go.” She rushes out, I could feel she wanted to find Orion as she darted out not looking
back. Which left me with Thaddeus.
“Be thankful Evelyn is here, Ryland, because right now I want to kill you,” he says burning anger
through the bond.
“You’re not going to hurt her, are you?” I ask worried. I could feel the darkness in him, but her
presence seems to have a calming effect on him. He relishes everything about her, he is so caught up
on her that I think he forgets he is mad at her especially when she is like this, doing what he wants and
not arguing back for once.
“No, I am angry, but I am just relieved she is okay. Though I would like to tan that ass of hers red,”
he says, an image of her bent over his knee hitting me and I feel my lips tug at the thought, my cock
twitching in my pants.
“That might not actually be a punishment,” I smirk. Mates were made perfectly for us if anything it
would probably turn her on.
“I would make it hurt,” he said, the same thoughts running through his own head as he adjusts his
pants which were growing tighter.
“And April?” I ask. He growls sending a shiver up my spine. I wasn’t game enough to ask again. I
knew what ever he did would have made her suffer. I am surprised he actually let her live. None of us
could understand Evelyn’s empathy toward the woman. She was too kind-hearted; she didn’t want to
hurt Lana even though the bitch deserves nothing but death in my eyes.
Humans were odd things to try and understand. Walking out, I find Evelyn on the lounge with
Orion, she was sitting on his lap while he traced circles with his fingers on the skin of her thigh, he
seemed calm enough. I had never felt anger like this from him before. Orion was always level-headed,
but I had broke his trust. Sitting in the armchair away from her, Thaddeus sits beside her and Orion. I
turn the news on to fill the silence.
Thaddeus runs his hand up her leg and she shivers resting her head on Orion’s shoulder and I
watch as he kisses her temple. She was exhausted and needed sleep.
“Sleep Evelyn,” Thaddeus tells her, but she shakes her head. Evelyn was unsure.
“What’s wrong?” I ask her, confused when she tries to fight against it. She was completely
exhausted yet refusing to close her eyes, we could go longer without sleep but Evelyn not so much.
“You’re worried I am going to leave?” Thaddeus asks her and her eyes dart to him and she nods.
“I’m not going anywhere little one not after today” he tells her. His hand running up the inside of her
thigh and she shivers. Thaddeus lips turn up in a smirk. His eyes sparkling as he watches her reaction
him.
“Want me to help you sleep?” he asks gripping her hips on placing her on his lap.
Evelyn POV
Thaddeus sat me on his lap. My legs straddling his, his hands running up the outside of my thighs.
Gripping his face, my palms on his cheeks, running my thumb underneath his eyes as they darken,
veins slivering under my touch. I trace the lines of his face and down his neck. Thaddeus just letting me
touch him, my fingers brushing his neck when I notice where I bit him had healed and my mark was
gone.
“Where I bit you healed?” I ask, confused.
“Yes, you’re human, Evelyn. You can still mark us, but it will only stay temporarily until we change
you” he says, and I pull back. Change me? Change me how, turn me into one of them? The thought
alone was enough to make my heart skip a beat. I didn’t want to live forever, didn’t want to feed on
people and I sure as hell didn’t want to turn into a furry creature and howl at the moon and shit.
“But…” I glance toward Ryland and Orion.
“It will happen eventually, Evelyn,” Orion tells me.
“So, I don’t get a choice? I don’t want to live forever,” I tell them, and Thaddeus grip tightens.
“No one said right now, Evelyn, when you decide,” Ryland tells me.
“No, I won’t. It’s not natural, I don’t want to be a monster,” I tell them before realising what I said.
“I didn’t mean…”
“It’s fine Evelyn no offense taken,” Thaddeus says brushing my cheek with his thumb. “You still
have plenty of time, no one will do anything until you say so,” he says.
“What if I never want to change?” I ask and I see Thaddeus eyes darken. His jaw clenching.
“Then I will make the choice for you.” I shake my head and try to climb off his lap.
“No, I won’t agree to this, Thaddeus. You don’t get to decide that for me,” I argue but his eyes go
completely black before I am ripped off his lap by Orion. Thaddeus growls and a shiver runs up my Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
spine as I lean further away from him.
“And why the fuck not, Evelyn? Clearly you can’t make decisions for yourself,” he snaps as he
turns to glare at me. I know he was talking about me nearly getting myself killed but he can’t blame that
on me. How am I supposed to know what others’ intentions are?
“because I don’t want this life, I wanted a normal human life,” I tell him, and he laughs.
“That went out the window the day you met us, Evelyn,” he tells me.
“When you say human life, what do you mean?” Ryland asks sitting forward staring at me.
Thaddeus’s head snaps toward him, “Don’t even entertain the idea, Ryland” Thaddeus tells him, but I
answer anyway.
“I don’t know, just normal.”
“You want kids?” Ryland asks and Thaddeus and Orion both growl at him. Did I want kids? I wasn’t
sure but I didn’t want them now, I knew that much.
“Maybe,” I tell him not really knowing how I actually feel about that particular question. Ryland sits
back resting his head on the back of the armchair looking up at the ceiling. “Why?” I ask.
“Because that’s not possible,” Thaddeus answers, though I could tell he was irritated that Ryland
mentioned it.
“What do you mean?”
“You’re human, Evelyn. Bearing one of our children could kill you.”
“I don’t understand.”
“When a human fall pregnant to their mate, or in your case mates, the child isn’t human.”
“So?” I ask not understanding.
“One of us can’t knock you up. If you fall pregnant, it won’t just be one of our kids it would be all.”
“You have lost me,” I admit trying to understand what he is telling me. Thaddeus puts his head in
his hands trying to figure out what to say next. Orion stepping in for him.
“If we were all vampire it would work, but Thaddeus is a Tribrid, and Ryland werewolf. You fall
pregnant the baby will be a tribrid. When a mate falls pregnant, the baby is a mix of its parents. You
have a more than one mate because Thaddeus is a tribrid, so therefore the baby would have all our
DNA.”
“Why does it matter what it is?”
“Because humans can’t carry a Lycan baby, Evelyn. It would kill them,” he answers.
“But your mother is part human.” Thaddeus shakes his head.
“No, my mother is a witch and had Vampire DNA. They thought she was human, but she wasn’t,
and she did die having me. Her vampire DNA brought her back.”
“So, if I have a baby it would be all of your child? And it would kill me?”
“Yes,” Thaddeus answers. I say nothing, what could I say? But suddenly having that option taken
off me made me want it. Getting up, I head for the stairs. Orion tries reaching for me, but I brush his
hand off. I was just about to go up the first step when I hear the news anchor on TV and the Parse
hospital where Lana was.
“Breaking News we are live outside the Parse Hospital reports of a domestic situation.” I stop
glancing at the TV and so was everyone else. They go to a live stream of inside the hospital and my
stomach drops as I see April come on the screen.
