Super Mommy and Her Triplets

Chapter 719

Chapter 719

The call ended before Artemis could reply to Bailey.

The next second, he lunged forward and spat a mouthful of dark red blood.

The hall went into chaos.

“Hurry! Go get Mr. Lewitt!”

“Doctor! Get a doctor!” This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

It had not been long since Holden and Micah left, but after hearing that Artemis had vomited blood, they hurriedly returned.

The two exchanged gazes when they saw the puddle of blood that was a strange dark red color.

Holden said in a low voice, “He must've been poisoned. I don't think a normal doctor would be able to reverse its effects. I'll go and get Dr. Lynch. Stay here with him and don't leave. Make sure to keep this a secret.”

Micah nodded. “Go. I know what to do.”

Ring. Ring. Ring.

The phone that Artemis had dropped rang once more.

Micah looked down and noticed that it was Bailey calling.

He hesitated for a moment before he gave up on answering the phone.

They were still unsure of Artemis' condition, and Bailey was not an easy person to deal with. The more Micah said, the more wrong things would turn out.

...

Meanwhile, at the study of the medical base in Hallsbay, Bailey had tried to call Artemis many times, but no one answered.

Zeke entered the study and was confused when he saw the frown on her face. He asked, “What's wrong? Didn't you two talk things over previously? Why do you still look depressed?”

Bailey threw her phone aside and shook her head. “It's nothing. Perhaps I'm too worried about him. I get anxious when I don't hear from him. Jeez. I've got to change this habit of mine.”

“Good that you know. He has Holden and Micah to protect him, so what would happen to him? You'd better worry about yourself instead. Oh, right. We've received news about Wendy. She has indeed left Hallsbay by plane. However, she had used a fake identity. That's why my people took such a long time to find her.”

Bailey was not surprised. They had expected that.

“Since they're going to go through with their plan, it's only natural they would do it without any flaws. Let's stop worrying about Wendy for the moment. She might still be useful to Mr. Hoffman, so she won't

be in danger. Now, I'm more worried about Raiden's father. His condition doesn't look good. Overworking had taken a toll on him. If he's not cured, the country may fall into turmoil.”

Zeke narrowed his eyes. “Are you planning to go to Dellmoor?”

“No, I can't leave. I've already asked Zain to go in my stead and check on his condition. If Zain can't resolve the issue, I might have to go there myself. After all, Zain doesn't know how to conduct hypnosis. Mr. Fletcher's condition is caused by excessive stress. Only hypnosis will be able to relieve his symptoms.”

Initially, Bailey had planned to ask a friend to impersonate Ethereal to go to the Fletcher residence and treat Sloan.

However, after doing some research on Sloan's condition, she realized it was a must for her to treat him instead.

“Mommy, Aunt Julie is getting married,” Susan announced as she walked in with a laptop.

Zeke and Bailey were taken aback by the news.

What? Julie is getting married?

Bailey turned to look at her daughter. Frowning, she asked, “What do you mean?”

Susan placed the laptop in her hands before Bailey. “Look. The Hoffman family has announced news of the wedding.”

Bailey snatched the laptop and stared at the screen momentarily before instinctively turning to look at Zeke.

Zeke's expression turned grim as a storm started brewing behind his eyes.

He stared at the title of the news displayed on the screen.

It wrote: Wedding Bells Will Soon Be Ringing! The Hoffman family's eldest daughter and her fiancé, Huntley Cloudax, will soon marry. The date will be announced later. We welcome guests from all around the world to give their blessings to the couple at the Hoffman residence.

“Will soon marry...” Zeke muttered.

He was silent for a moment before he scoffed and said, “They think I don't have a temper just because I didn't get angry. For them to force her to this point, are they treating me as if I'm nothing but air?”

Bailey returned the laptop to her daughter before telling Zeke, “This could be Julie's way of protecting herself. As of now, we can't leave our posts. It's understandable for her to want to protect herself.”

Zeke glared at her and uttered in a deep voice, “I'm not blaming Juliana. Indeed, she's doing this to protect herself. However, the Hoffman family is too evil. I want to wipe out the family one day.”

Bailey shook her head and sighed. “Julie must've agreed to the wedding because of two reasons. First, it's to protect herself. Second, I assume she must want to return Huntley's feelings and sacrifice for her. She has probably let go of you completely.”

Zeke tensed up. He did not know what his feelings were for Juliana.

He only knew that he did not mind being with her for the rest of their lives.

However, if she decided to let go of him, he figured there was no need for him to chase after her anymore.

“Can you cure Huntley's legs?”

Bailey looked at Zeke strangely. “Zeke, if I can cure Huntley's legs, are you going to give them your blessing? But Julie doesn't love Huntley. If you accept their marriage, it'll nail her suffering for the rest of her life instead.”

Zeke turned and headed for the door. As he walked, he said, “If she's determined to forget the past, then there's no use in me forcing her. Forget about that. Since they've announced the wedding, it means she's safe temporarily. You should just deal with your affairs in peace first.”

“Zeke...”

Bailey swallowed what she wanted to say as she watched him disappear out the door.

Before meeting Julie and asking her about the wedding, what use is there for me to keep talking about it? After going through so much together, I'm not sure what Julie is thinking about either. Perhaps she's matured rapidly amongst the chaos and has a new goal. If she wants to take over as the head of the Hoffman family and become the most powerful woman of Adrune, then neither Zeke nor I can stop her.

...

Meanwhile, silence filled the bedroom at the headquarters of Tarragon.

Artemis leaned against the headboard. His handsome face had turned pale as paper, and he had difficulty breathing.

Beside the bed, a white-haired elderly took his pulse.

“How strange. The blood you spat out is a dark red color. Logically speaking, it's a symptom of being poisoned. However, your pulse is stable. It doesn't seem like you've been poisoned, either. How many times has this happened?”

Artemis nodded in understanding and answered, “It's the third time I've vomited blood. Previously, Justin did my bloodwork and performed a CT scan. There were no signs of being poisoned or internal injuries, but I would vomit blood every two days. Don't tell me even you are unable to find out the cause of my illness?”

Henley did not say a word. Instead, he turned to observe the blood in the vial.

Micah asked, “Dr. Lynch, how is it? Can you really not find the cause of his illness? Could it be a poison that you've never encountered before?”

“A poison I've never encountered...” Henley muttered to himself. He thought about it for a moment before his expression turned grim. “Could it be... No, that's impossible. That poison has been long lost. The only remaining bottle was also sealed... No, it can't be that poison.”

Artemis narrowed his eyes and stared at Henley. He asked, “What do you mean by 'that poison'? Have you noticed something? If yes, please explain it to me.”

The look on Henley's face turned serious as he waved his hand and answered, “I don't dare to jump to conclusions without any confirmations. Wait for another two days. I'll take this vial of blood and do experiments on it. I'll get back to you after confirming my suspicions.”

With that, he strode out the door. As he walked past Holden, he muttered, “Come with me. There's something I need you to do.”
