Super Mommy and Her Triplets

Chapter 726

Chapter 726

Bone-shredding Hormones... That was a substance developed by her father's former subordinate, specifically designed to force confessions from death row inmates.

Once injected into the human body, it would cause agonizing torture, making the victim desperate for relief. That despicable person actually used such a vicious and tyrannic punishment on her.

After all, she was the daughter of the previous leader and the princess of Tarragon. How could she be treated like this?

“Ugh...”

With a wad of paper stuffed in her mouth, Yvette could only utter undecipherable syllables. She stared intently at the group of high-ranking members across from her, her eyes filled with a plea for help.

Even if they didn't want to save her, they should at least grant her a quick end, considering that her father had promoted them. They shouldn't just stand by and watch her be tortured and abused.

Unable to bear it, two senior officials wanted to step forward and speak up for her, but they were stopped by the leader of Prudent Hall.

Artemis, Holden, and Micah, the first in command and second in command, all of whom wielded authority, stepped forward to support Shannon, making it clear that they were out to get Yvette.

If they pleaded for mercy, not only would they be unable to save her, they would also get themselves involved, which was not worth it.

“Shannon the warrioress, now that everything has come to light, Prudent Hall will announce the results publicly, clearing your name and revoking the order to hunt you down. From now on, you can continue to stay in the organization and serve its cause.”

Shannon leaned down slightly and lifted Yvette off the floor with one hand. Then, she walked leisurely toward the door.

“No need. Now that I've lost my arm, I'm basically useless. I can no longer carry out missions, so I won't stay in Tarragon anymore. Just consider me as good as dead.”

“That's not right,” a high-ranking member said in a low voice as he looked at her retreating figure.

“The organization has strict rules. To leave, you must meet two conditions. Your lost arm fulfills the first one, but what about the second? Before you leave, shouldn't you take the memory loss pill?”

Shannon didn't even bother with him. Soon, she disappeared at the doorway. The high-ranking member's pride was at stake.

He turned to Artemis on the main seat and barked urgently, “Leader, we must give her the memory loss pill! She knows too many of our top secrets. We can't just let her go like this.”

Artemis stared at him coldly and said nonchalantly,

“She's already left Tarragon for six years. If she really wanted to leak the organization's top secrets, she would have done so long ago. Why would she wait until now? Besides, she's Holden's sister and Micah's woman. With their guarantee, are you still worried that she would leak secrets and betray her

own brother and lover?”

Artemis' words might sound harsh, but they hold true nonetheless.

The higher-ups were left speechless by the statement.

They retreated in a dispirited manner. Artemis' gaze swept across the hall. He announced nonchalantly, “Let's put an end to this matter here. Never bring it up again. If you have any dissatisfactions, feel free to consult me. If I find out that anyone is giving her a hard time in the future, don't blame me for not showing mercy.”

After saying that, he stood up and walked out of the hall. Holden and Micah exchanged glances before they trailed after him.

After leaving Prudent Hall, Artemis fished out his mobile phone from his pocket and found Bailey's number. Seeing that string of familiar digits, his heart somehow ached.

How should he tell her about the poisoning? She had been so anxious and worried about him.

If she knew he had contracted the incurable Soul Reaper, wouldn't she drive herself mad with worry? After standing still for a moment, he eventually deleted the digits he had entered one by one.

“Holden, do you have Mr. Yablon's contact details?” Holden nodded.

“Yes, do you want it?”

“Indeed. Give it to me.” Holden took out his phone, found Cameron's number, and passed the gadget to

Artemis.

“Just make the call on my phone.”

With that said, he and Micah took many steps back. Artemis stared at the screen for a few seconds before he dialed Cameron's number.

The call was quickly connected. A teasing voice sounded through the speaker, “What's up? Has the Soul Reaper inside Artemis kicked in? Fine, I was previously lying to you when I said that the Yablon family's prohibited drug wasn't stolen. Now that I have confirmation that Artemis has indeed been poisoned, there's no need to hide it any longer. You'll all find out soon anyway, so there's no point in keeping it a secret.”

“I'm Artemis.” Right after that, there was a muffled thud coming from the other end of the phone, as if something heavy had fallen to the ground.

“You seem quite surprised, Mr. Zayron. Did you just roll off the bed?”

Cameron remained deathly silent. Artemis slowly withdrew the mocking expression on his face and said seriously, “Mr. Yablon, I'm calling you to ask if there's an antidote for Soul Reaper.”

“No,” Cameron replied curtly.

“If you're calling me to ask for an antidote, then you're mistaken. There is no antidote for Soul Reaper. For generations, the Yablon family has devoted their heart and soul to searching for a formula, but we've never been able to figure it out. I'm afraid even the ones who created the poison might not be able to concoct an antidote.”

Artemis couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh.

“So you're saying that my death is now inevitable?” NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

“Well, in theory, yes. I know you're worried about, but there's no need for your concern. She has caught my attention, and after you're gone, I'll be the one to protect her.”

The wry smile on Artemis' face grew even more intense. Cameron was quite an interesting person. He was truly genuine.

People considered him cunning and deceitful, but that was probably just a façade he had utilized to deceive the world.

“Don't you worry about my woman, Mr. Yablon. You should be well aware of Bailey's capabilities, as you've known each other for so many years. Who knows, she might even be able to concoct an antidote.”

Cameron sneered.

“Her medical skills were all passed down to her by Maerlus the Dark Healer, who spent his entire life researching the antidote for Soul Reaper. Yet, he ultimately died from the toxin. I don't believe that Bailey's expertise in antidotes can surpass her mentor's.”

“We wouldn't know until we try it. Since you cannot produce an antidote, Mr. Yablon, I shan't bother you any longer. Talk to you later.”

As he said that, Artemis reached out to hang up the call.

“Hold it.” Cameron hurriedly spoke up.

“Artemis, aren't you curious about the sort of entanglements I have with Bailey?” Artemis paused his action. He was curious about everything related to Bailey's past. However, without her consent, he would not take it upon himself to pry into her past.

“If I want to know, I can ask Bailey directly. There's no need to hear it from you. If you have nothing else to discuss with me, Mr. Yablon, I'll be hanging up now.”

“Artemis, I've made a request to Bailey. She kicked you to the curb, and I stepped in to save Veronique. Bailey said she'd rather die with Veronique than abandon you. Yet, you're incredibly selfish. You've contracted the incurable, and you still intend to tell her, thereby dragging her into this abyss so that she can die with you. Artemis, you don't deserve her love.”

Artemis' body began to tremble slightly. He understood what Cameron was trying to say. It was just an attempt to provoke him into keeping his condition a secret from Bailey and staying away from her.
