Cooper added, “Chatting with you is just no fun.”

“Then just shut up. My son will definitely take after his dad, who is tall, handsome, and smart. Most

importantly, they both will treat me well.” Mia looked at her husband with eyes filled with love.

Andre sat on the couch, catching his wife’s adoring gaze and the love in her eyes. He chuckled

helplessly yet happily. From now on, he would have to face the daily adoration and love from his wife

and son. He wondered what his little boy would be like.

Cooper rolled his eyes at the lovey-dovey married folks!

By evening, Mia yawned three times in a row. Only then did her family leave, giving the hospital room

back to the couple.

Madison wanted to stay, but her daughter urged her to leave. “Mom, go home and rest up. Once the

baby comes, we’ll be depending on you.”

Madison was taken aback but then realized that “we” meant her daughter and grandchild. “Let’s worry

about that later. Tonight, I’ll stay with you in the hospital. Don’t worry.”

Mia pointed at Andre, who was standing to see their guests out. “Then you can fight over me with my

husband. He definitely won’t want to leave me in your care tonight.”

Eventually, Andre also suggested that Madison should leave. She had no choice but to depart.

Finally, the hospital room was quiet. Mia laid in bed, gazed at her large belly, and then quickly turned

over to sleep. “Honey, I didn’t see Molly today.”

Andre hadn’t thought about his sister today. He had been busy with his little wife all day.

“It’s strange. I am due to give birth right now at the hospital. Molly would definitely be by my side. Why

didn’t she come?” Mia mumbled. “I’ll ask her tomorrow.”

On the 13th floor of the inpatient department.

Molly fetched a bottle of water for her mom.

Coleen asked, “Which floor is Mia on?”

Molly answered, “The 15th floor.”

Coleen got out of bed and moved around the room. “If nothing’s wrong, go see her. I don’t need you to

stay here with me.”

Molly said, “It’s fine. I’ve already told her that. Mom, have you decided on the surgery?”

Coleen nodded. “If I don’t treat the disease, the risks will increase. If the cancer cells spread, there will

be no cure.”

Molly added, “Mom, I will be with you.”

“Tomorrow, accompany me to the company. Once things are settled there, I’ll have the surgery.”

Molly nodded. “Okay.”

The next day, Molly took a day off from university to accompany her mother to Chade Inc..

A meeting was called at short notice, and all the staff gathered in a large conference room.

Coleen sat at the head of the round table. She wore light makeup to hide her pale complexion. Molly

sat next to her mother. The staff members who saw her began to speculate. Was she going to join the

company?

“Firstly, I am ill and will need some time to recuperate. During this period, my daughter will be in charge

of all company matters.”

Upon hearing this, everyone in the room looked at Coleen, including Molly herself. Why didn’t her

mother tell her about this beforehand?

Coleen didn’t look at her daughter but continued, “Only my family and my secretary will know about my

whereabouts during my recovery. If you have any issues, you can directly contact my secretary and my

daughter.”

Molly knew that many eyes were on her at the moment. She pretended to be calm and sat upright.

“Madam, how are you feeling? Ms. Molly might not be familiar with our company. Probably she

couldn’t...”

Coleen simply replied, “The main purpose of today’s meeting is to ‘announce’, not to discuss.”

Announcement meant that everything she declared was her decision. Any objections would be

disregarded!

Then, Coleen continued, “I understand everyone’s concerns and doubts about my daughter’s

capabilities as this is her first time handling the company. I will be assisting her during my

recuperation.”

Upon hearing this, the management team let out a sigh of relief. If Molly was like the previous prodigal

son of Ashford Inc., who had no capabilities but still wanted to control the company, they would be

doomed. If that was the case, they would need to consider changing jobs. But since the president

would be assisting, there shouldn’t be any major issues.

“Secondly, the marketing campaign for the new quarter will be led by the vice-president...”

The meeting lasted for more than an hour. After it ended, Coleen asked several core department

managers to join her in her office for a detailed discussion. Coleen had to ensure that the company

would not be in chaos while she was undergoing treatment. She knew how to win people’s hearts.

Soon, several people appeared in her office. Coleen told her daughter, “Molly, go and make some tea

for them.”

“Thank you but we are okay.” They all quickly declined.

Molly obeyed her mother’s instructions. Coleen sat on the couch, with Ryan, who had been with her

since the beginning, by her side.

“Madam, what’s wrong with you? Is it related to your previous fainting?”

Coleen nodded. “I called everyone here today to discuss some matters privately.”

In a while, Molly finished making the tea. As she served tea for the company’s key leaders, she listened

to her mother’s persuasive words and secretly took notes.

Molly said, “Mom, I’ll go get you some lunch.”

“No need. Let me rest a while. Then we’ll go eat something nice,” Coleen responded.

Molly went over to her mother and hugged her neck. “Mom, you’re my idol. You’re the best mom.”

Coleen patted her daughter’s hand around her neck. She laughed and asked, “Did you feel slighted

when you served tea to the key leaders today?”

Molly shook her head. “Talented people deserve it. If we want to win people’s hearts, serving some tea

is nothing. There’s no need for me to be haughty and proud.”

Coleen laughed. “With that mindset, I can rest assured leaving the company to you.”

But Molly was still unsure. She asked her mother, “Mom, I really don’t know anything about running a

company. I’m not ready to take on such a responsibility.”

Coleen said, “Don’t worry, sweetheart. I’m right here with you.”

After taking a break, Coleen stood up, supported by Molly who had linked her arm through her

mother’s. Together, they headed out the door.

On their way to grab a bite to eat, Molly was behind the wheel while Coleen assisted by keeping an eye

on the traffic.

In the afternoon, the mother-daughter duo made their way to the hospital, where they could finally

schedule the surgery.

Andre replied, “I haven’t heard anything unusual. Why do you ask?”

Leaning back in her chair, Mia replied, “I just have a feeling that Molly is acting a bit out of character.”
