Chapter 157
Chapter 157
Elgin didn’t respond.
“Fine, I want to see Shela croaking loud and clear to bite the dust with my raw eyes! She snatched what was mine, and now she’s gotta pay back double! And you,” Letitia looked at Elgin, “you should feel a thousand, no, ten thousand times worse than me! If the kid was still around, there was still a chance… a freaking chance…”
But now, only hate and pain were left.
Love and hate along with right and wrong all intertwined…
To be honest, the most innocent was the unborn kid.
“Why did it have to be like this… to play me like that?” Elgin muttered to himself, “From start to finish, I was just barking up the wrong tree.”
Elgin turned his back, unable to face Letitia.
The pain, rage, guilt in his heart… he had to shoulder them alone.
It was his doing and mess to clean up!
Letitia’s tears had dried up. When you were that heartbroken, you can’t could not even cry.
She stared numbly out the window.
Before long, there was a clamor of footsteps outside.
“What the hell… Easy, let go!” Shela’s cursing voice came in, “Are you blind, treating me like this?!”
“I’ll get Mr. Ramirez to fire all of you!”
The butler was the first to enter and said, “Mr. Ramirez, we’ve brought her.”
Elgin silently gestured with his hand.
“Mr. Ramirez, your people are so rough,” Shela complained, “they don’t know their strength.”
She always had no clue, but Mark as an old fox got a word in quick, “Enough, now’s not the time to squabble about this! Look at Mr. Ramirez… something’s off.”
Shela looked up and glanced at Elgin. At the sight of Letitia with her red-rimmed eyes, Shela thought they were still at it over the medication, feeling a bit smug.
“Mr. Ramirez, don’t bother arguing with her.” Shela sidled up to Elgin, taking his arm, “If she won’t have your baby, I will. I promise I’ll be more obedient and more understanding than her, I’ll do anything you say… Ah!”
Before she could finish, Elgin shot up his hands and clamped down on her throat!
Shela looked at him in terror, “Mr. Ramirez…”
That night, in the hotel room, I said something to you,” Elgin glared at her, “do you remember?”
“1,1”
Elgin roared, “Do you remember?!”
Shela’s eyes darted about, “I can’t really recall, Mr. Ramirez. It was such a mess, I was scared.”
‘That important, and you forgot?”
“Heh, Mr. Ramirez, you said a lot of things, not just one… I remember some, forgot others.”
Elgin flung her aside and grabbed the geezer in a swoop.
m asking you, that night, who was the woman Mark sent to my room?*
Elgin’s voice was fierce as he pointed at Letitia, “Her?”
His hand shifted, pointing at Shela, “Or her!?”
The geezer hadn’t expected this to come back up.
“Mr. Ramirez, you’ve already punished me, I’ve been minding my business and haven’t done anything wrong…” he stammered, “This has nothing to do with me, I really don’t know anything…”
“Answer me, who was the woman that night?!”
The stunned geezer tried to step up.

At the sight of this, Mark felt something was wrong.
He quickly nudged Shela and shouted, “It’s her! The woman you want is her! My daughter, Shela. I reluctantly gave her to you. Have you forgotten?”
Shela also realized and nodded repeatedly, “Yes! Could it be that you’re getting too old to be good at faces?”
Mark and Shela felt a strong sense of crisis. For no apparent reason, why would Mr. Ramirez suddenly start seeking the truth?
They absolutely couldn’t let Mr. Ramirez know that the woman from that night was Letitia… Otherwise, everything they had done and possessed during this time would all vanish into thin air!
The geezer hesitated.
Elgin tightened his grip on his collar, “Whose words are you going to heed? Do you understand?”
His gaze was incredibly sharp, and the geezer, wary of his identity, nodded, “Of course… Mr. Ramirez, I listen to you and follow your orders.”
“Then answer me, is that woman Shela or Letitia?”
Shela tried to speak up, but a look from Elgin was all it took for the bodyguard to come over and silence her.
Letitia watched all this with a detached gaze. For her, it was all expected.
She had met the geezer before and he definitely knew her.

“That night… the woman Mark brought was, was her,” the geezer pointed at Letitia, “I remember it clearly and can’t be wrong. She even kicked me hard and nearly crippled me…”
As soon as he finished speaking, Elgin let go.
The geezer fell to the floor, then quickly knelt properly.
“Mr. Ramirez, I’m telling the truth, not a single lie,” he said, “As for Mark and his daughter, I don’t know anything and I wasn’t involved!”
He was quick to distance himself, but Elgin wasn’t about to let him off the hook!
“Kicked you? That was being lenient/ Elgin’s eyes flashed with a chilling intent, “Did you touch her?”
“I didn’t get the chance to…
Elgin snorted coldly, “But you looked at her with intentions. Those eyes of yours will be destroyed.”
The geezer turned deathly pale, begging for mercy, “Mr. Ramirez, please, Mr. Ramirez…”
“Take him away!”
“Yes, Mr. Ramirez.
The geezer’s screams echoed through the halls of Ivory Towers.
Mark and Shela went pale with fear.
It was over, the very thing they dreaded most had happened!
“Mr. Ramirez, I, I…” Shela stammered, “Don’t listen to that geezer’s nonsense… It was me that night, it couldn’t be wrong!”
Elgin stared her down coldly, making her skin crawl.
“Dad,” Shela was terrified, “what do we do…”
Elgin kicked the coffee table over, and the crash of things breaking was deafening.
His eyes seemed to devour someone, “You’re on death’s door but still trying to squirm your way out?”
Shela was suddenly at a loss for words, and Mark was gobsmacked.
It was all over, totally toast.
At that moment, Letitia slowly stood up and walked over to them.
“What’s stolen must eventually be returned…” she said, “Shela, you took my place, basked in luxury and glory for months. I guess you could say it was worth it for you in this lifetime.”
Shela no longer had her usual swagger. She looked like a mess, like a rooster that had lost a fight.
Letitia laughed mockingly, “I took on the dangers and lost my innocence for you. And you? Elgin treated you like the apple of his eye and would give everything you want…. all thanks to your dear dad, Mark.”
