The Alpha Queen And Her Chosen Mate

Bonus Chapter 2

Kelsey

“Jonas, where are you taking me?” I laughed as he pulled me out of the car, my eyes covered with a makeshift blindfold, aka his t-shirt.

“You’ll see!” he said. I could hear the excitement in his voice.

I was racking my brain trying to figure out what sort of surprise he had planned. It wasn’t my birthday, it wasn’t our marking anniversary, nor any holiday. I was already pregnant with pup number five, so he wasn’t trying to butter me up for another pup, or at least I hoped not. What could he be up to? I heard him open a door, a bell at the top of the door announcing our presence. It smelled nice in here, like soap.

“Okay, you can take off your blindfold.” He said.

I carefully slipped it off, smiling as soon as I saw what he had planned.

“A spa day?!” I said excitedly, bouncing on my feet.

“Manicures, pedicures, facials.” He nodded.

“Hi mom!”

“Come on!”

My two older pups said, beckoning me to come sit with them. Kelly was there with them. She took them earlier this morning but didn’t say why or for what. I guess now I know why. Amelia, my oldest, was now nine, and Mia was seven. I had them with Mason, but Jonas treated them as if they were his own. We had two together, a boy and a girl, and have one on the way, but they were far younger and not ready to be taken out into society for things such as this just yet.

“Have fun.” Kelly said, winking at me as she left.

“Thanks…Hi girls!” I smiled. “What is this all about? Did I forget something?” I asked.

“Nope, I just wanted to spoil my girls today.” He shrugged. “I will pick you up in a few hours and then we can go out to dinner.” He said, just before giving me a heated k**s goodby.

I could hear my pups gagging in the background at our PDA, and laughed before waving Jonas off and joining them for a pedicure. I don’t know what I did to deserve a mate like him. He made everything so easy. He calmed me down when I got anxious or worried, he could always make me laugh, he knew how to hit just the right spot, and he loved me and all our pups with every fiber of his being. I didn’t know men like that even existed anymore.

I was thankful Kelly so easily gave us her blessing. I worried for a while that it was some sort of trap, and she would eventually turn on me for dating her ex, whatever they were. They never technically dated, but they did hook up, and he did love her, so to me, she had first dibbs. Thankfully, she chose Thorin to pursue. I don’t know what I would have done if I had to watch her live happily ever after with my second chance mate.

“So what do you girls want to grab for dinner?” I asked as I soaked my feet in the warm bubbly water.

“We are going to Aunt Kylie’s for dinner,” Mia said, very matter-of-factly.

“Oh…I thought Jonas just said we were going out. My mistake.” I shrugged.

“You two are.” Amelia giggled. “We are having a sleepover with Cece.”Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“And Jimmy and Lily too,” Mia added.

“Oooohhhhh.” I flushed, trying to hide it from my pups. Last time we had a night without any pups, well, I ended up pregnant again. At least that wouldn’t be a problem this time around.

We enjoyed a nice day of pampering before Kylie came and picked up Amelia and Mia for their sleepover. Jocelyn was apparently already getting pizza and popcorn ready and already had Jimmy, Lily, and Cece with her. Jonas was not far behind, greeting me with a large bouquet of roses.

“For you, my love,” Jonas said, handing me the lush flowers.

“Why, thank you.” I said, taking a deep whiff. “But seriously, what did I forget?” I asked.

“What makes you think you forgot something? Can’t I simply treat my mate to a special day?”

“You can, but this feels like more than that.” I said, taking his hand and following him to the car. “So what is it?” I pressed.

Jonas sighed, a smile creeping up on him. “It’s five years since the first day we found out we were mates.”

“Five years already?” I asked in disbelief. “Time sure does fly by…”

“No kidding.” He laughed, puling me close and planting another heated k**s on my lips. “I’m enjoying every minute of it with you.” He said, kissing me again.

“Mmm, don’t forget we are in public.” I smiled as he continued to shower me with k****s.

“Has that ever stopped us before?” He growled.

“Maybe we should skip dinner…” I purred.

“No.” Jonas said, stopping abruptly. “Baby, I don’t know how you do it all day, keeping the house together and the pups fed and happy, but I have not eaten all day. Our pups are literal animals and were terrorizing the house in opposite directions like wild raccoons. I couldn’t drop them off soon enough.”

“Ha!” I laughed, climbing into the car. “Fair enough, let’s go eat.”

We took our time at dinner, talking and laughing and at one point just sitting and staring at each other in silence as we digested. It was perfect.

“Do you ever wish you still had Mason? Instead of me?” Jonas asked, a serious expression crossing his face.

“Honestly? No.” I said, tossing my napkin on the table. “It sounds awful to say outloud.” I sighed. “I loved Mason, but the love I have for you is so different, and so much more powerful. Mason and I had a great relationship, but what I feel for you is out of this world.”

“Yeah?” He asked as he signed the bill.

“Absolutely.” I nodded, grabbing my purse and Jonas’s hand as we left the restaurant. “You know, I used to have a crush on you growing up.” I said as we walked back to the car.

“Oh?”

“Mhm. Before you turned eighteen and could tell if we were mates.” I flushed. “I remember begging Kelly to invite you over on your eighteenth birthday, but she said you were having a special dinner with your family. I was so hopeful that you might be my mate, it was two days later when you came over and obviously I wasn’t your mate at the time.” I shrugged. “I was so crushed.”

“Well, it looks like the moon goddess was looking out for us.” He smiled, taking my hand in his and giving it a soft k**s. “I’m so happy she gave me you.”

“Yeah? Not disappointed it wasn’t Kelly?”

“I was, at first, until the moment I laid eyes on you and knew that you were mine.” He said seriously. “Looking back, I was naive to love. Kelly is a great person, but goddess, Kelsey, you and I were made for each other. You are everything I had ever hoped for in a mate. You are so sweet and caring and put up with all my shenanigans, but also know when and how to pull me out of it. Your love for me and our pups is so fierce and so strong, I never imagined that a relationship could be so…perfect.”

“Yeah?” I said, dabbing my eyes.

“Yes, you are my moon and my stars, baby.”

“I love you Jonas. Thank you for such a wonderful day.”

“I love you too, but while the day might be over, we still have tonight.” He said, a mischievous look crossing his face. He picked me up bridal style, making me squeal, and ran us up to our room where we spent the night getting lost in each other.

Never in my dreams did I think I would have lost my fated mate, or that I would have been blessed to have gotten a second chance mate. I didn’t imagine loving my second chance mate as much as I did, nor did I think my pups would. I never imagined life looking like this, but I am sure glad it turned out this way.
