One-Hundred Forty-Nine: Back Home

Surprisingly things around here have been quiet and calm, which is weird. Normal things still happen.
The triple daily arguments, the kids causing all sorts of trouble, and animals where they aren’t
supposed to be. Yes, we had to replace another fucking pool filter.
“Will you keep that damn cat out of the pool. This is the second filter that we have had to replace.” Nate
says.
“He likes water. Where else is he supposed to cool off?’ Kylani retorts.
“There is a large pond with a natural waterfall not too far from here where he can go.” Xion states.
Phantom lifts his head when he hears the word waterfall. I swear these are just overgrown house cats.
He starts walking in the direction of the waterfall. Nate smirks at Kylani, who rolls her eyes in response.
There is always some kind of drama happening around here. At least it’s a normal drama and nothing
caused by all those other people. I watch Alexis walking around the pool, and I am just waiting for her
to fall in or for something else to happen. I look over and see Haze watching her as well. I wasn’t too
sure about him at first. After watching him with Alexis for a while I can see that he cares about her. She
walks over to me, and I am amazed that she hasn’t tripped over something yet.
“Hey, sexy.” She says to me.
“What’s up, baby?” I ask.
“Nothing, what are you guys up to?” She says.
She is up to something. I can tell by the way she is acting. She is probably the only one of the girls who
are terrible at finding information. I have no idea what she thinks she is trying to find out. Nothing new
has happened. It appears that Asmoday, Darrius, and Thomas are lying low. No one has seen or heard
anything from them in a while. A few of his goons have been seen snooping around the pack borders.
No doubt, thinking they could find a way onto this land and take Einyn or Mykayla. Maybe even both.
So far, they are staying way out around the borders. I think they have realized that crossing the borders
is a death warrant. I know at least two of them were wandering around the west border a couple of
nights ago. A couple of guards watched when they took off like lightning bolts. The guards said that
Mykenzie and Kylani walked out from somewhere at that exact moment, and that was all it took. I am
not totally sure that they hadn’t planned that, but I have no idea. They said they were just out for a
walk. Chris called bullshit, said they probably sensed someone and decided to take a peak. Those two,
I swear. Either way, the assholes decided their lives were more important right then and left. I didn’t
give Alexis any information of value, so she decided to wander into the house for food. I just shake my
head and laugh.

Dustin and Mykayla got home last night. They were tired, but at least they didn’t have to fly. They took
the easier, faster route. The perks of being immortal. They both seemed to have gotten down travelling
as we do very well. Kaleb still has a few issues. I think his problem is that he knows where he wants to
go, but if someone or something else pops into his head, he ends up there. We are working on his
concentration. He is getting better. He hasn’t ended up anywhere weird since the whole island debacle.
That was funny; if you don’t count that, Kylani almost lost her shit. That part was scary.
“So how was the honeymoon?” I ask.
“It was perfect.” Dustin answers. Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“That whole area is extraordinary. Everyone was so nice and we had no issues at all.” He says.
I am glad to hear this. I really wasn’t too worried about them not being welcomed. I knew our family
would be more than welcoming. Besides, if someone was rude to them, then it gets back to the girls,
and that’s the last thing you want. I know Dominick was over the moon to wake up and see his parents
this morning. I think the twins were, too, but they are still so young it’s hard to tell. I can tell you
Mykayla was happy to see her kids. Even Jordyn and Xaydyn were happy to see them. Then the three
disappeared to cause some sort of trouble like normal.
“So anything happened while we were gone.?” Mykayla asks.
“Nothing exciting. Had to replace another pool filter.” I reply.
I hear Dustin groan and tell them that I think we solved the problem. Since Phantom was told about the
pond and waterfall, he has not gotten into the pool. This makes Dustin happy. Mykayla just sits there
laughing at the situation.
“Those animals are a huge pain in the ass,” Dustin grumbles.
“They can be yes,” I say.
Mykayla just laughs harder. I am starting to worry about the fact that it has been so quiet. It makes me
think that something bad is going to happen.

Asmoday has us watching the borders of this pack. He wants us to gather any information that might
help him with getting a hold of the unicorns and that woman. So far, there is no way in hell that anyone
can get on this land without alerting everyone. I just about had a coronary the other night. We were
observing the western border when Mykenzie and Kylani fucking walk out of nothing. We know the
border guards know we are watching, which is what we want. What we don’t need is to be seen by
those two. It will not end well for us. We also have seen those great beasts as well. That, again, was
not surprising. We have not seen either of the two that we want. I can guarantee they keep the
unicorns close around the packhouse. The other woman was apparently out of the country on her
honeymoon. It would have been nice if someone had told us that the other woman was the fucking
Luna of the pack. Asmoday will hear about that. I did call him to update him. I am sure he sent
someone to track her down wherever they are on their honeymoon. We are still watching, but I honestly
have no idea how we are going to get a chance to take either of them. We need to get them off the
pack land if we are to stand a chance.
