Chapter 25: M&M'S

Chapter 25: M&M'S

Chapter 25: (Xavier's POV)- M&m's

I woke up to see the spot beside me in bed empty. Did she leave?

I looked at my phone for any text informing me where she went but didn't find any. Then I looked at the

table on her side to see a sticky note. I plucked it and skimmed over it.

'I had to leave since my dad's gonna be home soon. Sorry, I didn't say bye but I didn't want to wake

you. See you soon. It was nine in the morning right now and my mom was getting ready to head out for

work. I heard the doorbell ring but didn't bother to go an answer since my mom was already there.

I heard two voices one being my mother's and one a muffled one before my mom shouted, "Bye

honey!" before I heard the front door open and close.

I heard footsteps sprinting up the stairs but I already knew what was about to happen, and I was about

to play the silent treatment card. Aubrey swung the door open before running over to the bed and

jumping on top of me, lying down on her stomach on top of my back. "Hello! I'm back!" She waved her

hand in front of my face which I ignored.

I rested my chin in my hand while reading. "Hello! Are you just not gonna speak to me? Am I getting

the silent treatment right now?" she pouted while poking my cheek.

"You left me." I frowned, mumbling but loud and clear enough for her to hear.

"I'm sorry but I had to!" she stretched out her words while whining. "Parker!" She grabbed my

shoulders, shaking them. When I refused to pay any attention to her, she grabbed the book from my

hand and tossed it on the floor.

She got off of me and sat on my right before grabbing me and turning me with all her force, having me

being ignored. So she moved to her last resort.

She straddled me. She fucking straddled me.

"Parker," she spoke lowly while leaning in. "God help me or I swear, I'm leaving and I'm not coming

back for another week," she spoke threateningly.

"You won't do it." I shrugged nonchalantly while biting back a smirk.

Her eyes narrowed down at mine. "Try me." she challenged while raising her eyebrow at me daringly. I

kept quiet and scanned her face, looking for any sign that she was bluffing. But I genuinely didn't find

one, which could only mean that she was being serious, unless she was bluffing extremely well.

"You can think I'm bluffing all you want but you won't be thinking it tomorrow morning when I don't show

up." She began to get off of me but I grabbed her waist before she could and kissed her. We broke the

kiss after a moment of her smiling into it. "I was bluffing," she whispered against my lips before

laughing and getting off of me.

I shook my head while chuckling at my stupidity. "I missed you," I admitted while she lay down beside

me before kissing her forehead. I don't know what I'm doing. I have no clue how within less than a

week we've gotten so touchy and affectionate but we have. Maybe it's because it feels natural and it

feels normal between us, I don't know but it scares me.

It scares me that I'm falling for her so fast because that just makes me let her in, and once I let her in,

I'm giving her the power to hurt me. Her finger traced my jaw before speaking, snapping me out of my

thoughts.

"Penny for your thoughts?" she looked at me with a small smile tugging at her lips.

I looked at her for a moment before letting out a sigh. "I'm gonna fall for you, Carthy." I tucked a loose

strand of hair behind her ear, my finger brushing against it.

"The Xavier Parker is going to fall for me?" She sat up, confused and surprised.

"He just might," I chuckled, pulling her back down to lay with me. "I wish I didn't like you," I sighed. Her

head snapped in my direction so fast, she got whiplash. I think. "Because now that I like you, you can

make me happy," I began explaining as confusion graced her face.

"Isn't that a good thing?" she asked, her eyebrows knitting together adorably.

"It's good in a way but it also means that you can hurt me." I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath.

"I would never hurt you, Xavier." She sat up again, placing her hand on my chest while looking at me

genuinely.

"Promise?" I opened my eyes, looking straight at her hopefully.

She nodded. "Promise," she spoke. "I would never hurt you." She shook her head as I sat up beside

her.

"Do you want to go outside?" I asked after a moment of silence. Things were a little tense but nothing

we couldn't tolerate. She nodded as I stood up and took her hand in mine, leading her down the stairs

and into the backyard.

Before we could go out, she made me take a u-turn and go into the kitchen. "Do you have m&m's?"

she asked.

I laughed before grabbing a packet and handing it to her before we headed back to the backyard. We

walked over to the swings as usual and took our seats, slowly rocking back and forth while she

struggled to open the packet of m&m's.

"Need a little help there?" I laughed as I extended my hand for her to place the packet in so I could

open it for her.

She narrowed her eyes down at me before trying to open the packet one more time, failing miserably.

She sighed in defeat before handing me the packet while slouching.

I opened it with ease while smiling at her as she glared at me. I popped one in my mouth before taking

one in my hand. "Open," I demanded. She grinned ear to ear before opening her mouth as I threw an

m&m her way, landing it straight in her mouth. "Your turn." I handed her the packet.

She popped one more in her mouth before taking one and throwing it at me, only for it to land about a

mile away from me. I laughed before telling her to try again. She did and missed, again.

Hitting it me straight in the eye.

"I think you blinded me." I held my eye exaggeratedly.

"Shut up, Parker!" she smacked my arm before trying again, and again, and again. This went on for

about five minutes until she finally scored one into my mouth.

"Yes! I got it! I got it! Parker, I got it! I'm an expert ha!" she cheered. "I'll get it again." She reached into

the packet only to find it empty. Did she take that many tries?

"Oh my god," I mumbled while laughing and shaking my head slightly.

She blushed softly before turning away, hiding her face from me.

"Do you want to head in, Ms. Perfect Aim?" I teased while standing up and reaching my hand out for

her to take.

She cleared her throat and let out a giggle before placing her hand in mine, propping herself up on her

feet as we headed back inside. We went on over to the living room where we seated ourselves on the

couch and watched Hocus Pocus and then Home Alone.

I guess she felt like watching the classics today. Once both the movies were done and over, she let out

a tired yawn.

I looked over at the clock to see it was nine. Wow, time went by really fast today. Faster than usual.

"I should get home." She glanced at the clock. "I have to go." She began to get up but I grabbed her

wrist, pulling her back down.

"No, you don't." I pouted while locking her hand with mine.

"Yes I do," she laughed. "I'll be here bright and early tomorrow," she spoke reassuringly. "And I'll

stay."
