Chapter 525
Chapter 525
She asked, “What kind of evidence does this blogger have against you? Do you even know it?”
Penelope was nearly in tears. “How would I know?”
The blogger claimed her personal life was a hot mess, and she had numerous boyfriends throughout
middle school and high school. If any solid proof was found, she wouldn’t be able to face the Lindberg
family.
Many of her old acquaintances knew about her past. If the truth ever came out, she would be in deep Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
trouble.
Charlie said, “If you want to reverse the negative feedback, you have to listen to me. Got it?”
After all, they were in the same boat. If Penelope capsized, she wouldn’t fare well either. Charlie
immediately contacted a professional PR team.
Penelope, nodding her head, said, “Speak.” She could do anything to turn the tide at this point.
Charlie said, “I’ve drafted an apology message for you. Post it immediately and apologize to Allison.”
“What?” Penelope’s voice shot up an octave.
“No way!!” she yelled into her phone. “I’m not apologizing to that lowly maid Allison! It’s out of the
question!!”
On the other end of the line, Charlie nearly threw her phone in frustration. She was infuriated by
Penelope but had to bear with it because of her connection to the Lindberg Corporation. She explained
patiently, “You have to apologize to Allison. If you don’t, this issue won’t be properly handled. No one
online is speaking up for you. Even if Allison was once your maid, she’s worked hard to get where she
is. Doesn’t this sound like job discrimination to you? Once that label sticks, it’s hard to shake off.
“Nobody online empathizes with a rich heiress like you. The reason why public opinion is
overwhelmingly in favor of Allison is because she’s the underdog, working hard to better herself. Who
would sympathize with a rich girl like you who swipes her card for an outfit that costs tens of
thousands? You started the feud with the online troll and insulted Allison. If you want a better future,
Penelope, you have to learn how to apologize.”
“Let them rant online! I can apologize to anyone but that bitch Allison! I was too nice to her. That bitch
seduced my fiancé, and tried to damage my parents’ relationship. I’ve always hated her.”
“Do you have proof that she seduced Mr. Lindberg?” If there was a solid evidence, they could use it to
deal a fatal blow to Allison online, removing Patty’s trump card.
Penelope had none.
Charlie said, “Since you have no proof, I can’t help you. Ms. Flanagan, you should seek help
elsewhere.”
Charlie withheld one piece of information. The reason why the internet was siding with Allison, aside
from Penelope’s haughty tone and the inability of the public to relate to a rich heiress, was that…
Penelope and Allison did look similar, but Allison looked like a fairy who had just descended to earth.
Penelope, on the other hand, had gained weight after falling ill. She piled on makeup, used filters to
contour her face, and exuded cheap vibe of a common internet celebrity.
With Allison’s natural beauty, it was as if she was irresistible to both men and women.
Beautiful, hardworking Allison was like a princess. In contrast, Penelope seemed like the wicked witch
of the fairy tales.
