The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 162

Chapter 162

Wyatt trailed behind them. “Would you like to join me for lunch? Would you like some mantis shrimp?” Ivy, Windy, and Pierce all looked back at him and exclaimed, “No!” Wyatt cracked a grin. Ivy took the lead and walked to the car first, keeping two paces ahead of Wyatt, fearing he’d follow her like a leech. A brand-new car sat a few dozen meters away, waiting for the right moment. When Ivy appeared, the car engine roared as it charged straight at her at breakneck speed. Windy let out a startled cry behind her. “Ivy!” The next thing Ivy knew, a figure dashed out and shoved her out of the way. The attack happened in an instant. A loud collision occurred, followed by a person rolling to the ground. The car slammed into a large tree on the side of the road, and smoke began to rise from the hood. The surrounding area became deafeningly quiet. Pierce was terrified. His voice was trembling. “Pretty Lady, that strange mister...” Ivy was dragged to the grass on the other side of the path. Her arm was in excruciating pain. Her heart was pounding furiously. She had been unable to react earlier and had only felt a powerful force pushing her from behind. All she could hear was the crash! Ivy turned around, her face pale. She noticed the man, covered in blood, lying in the middle of the road. Just a second ago, that tall and uninterested man gently smiled at her as he invited her to lunch, but now... Her heart ached at that moment as if it had been stabbed. Windy bolted in a panic. “Please call an ambulance!” She gave Ivy a worried look. “Are you in pain?” Ivy believed that she was in a bubble because she couldn’t hear anyone’s voice. Pierce quickly tapped his smartwatch. He forced himself to remain calm as he walked to the side of

the building to make a phone call, but his voice was tense. Ivy stumbled over to Wyatt and knelt beside him, staring at him blankly. His clothes were caked in dust, and his hair was unkempt. That gorgeous face was a deadly white. His lips were relaxed, and his calm face was devoid of life. His blood was all that was around him. Ivy’s heart was clenched. She had the sensation that blood was dripping from it. Her breathing became increasingly difficult as time went on. He rescued her yet again. Windy shook Ivy in fear. “Ivy, don’t frighten me!” She was concerned that something terrible had happened to Ivy. Ivy’s thoughts were suddenly calmed. When she took out her phone, she noticed that the screen had shattered, but it still worked. She immediately dialed Greg’s number and instructed him to contact the hospital and doctor. Then she called Ken and asked him to make plans. She then dialed Marco Seely’s number and asked him to send someone to pick up Pierce. Lastly, she called the police. Ivy cast a glance at Windy. “Wait for the cops here and keep an eye on the driver, whether he’s alive or dead.” Her tone of voice was icy. Windy gave a firm nod. The ambulance arrived in less than five minutes. At the hospital. Ivy had never felt time move so slowly and painfully. Her patience was dwindling by the minute. She sat quietly, head down until Ken brought a tissue to her eyes. “Don’t cry, Ms. Morgan,” Ken spoke slowly and awkwardly, and he didn’t know what to feel. Only then did Ivy realize that tears were streaming down her cheeks. She couldn’t keep quiet any longer. Her shoulders shook violently as she choked out a sob, her head bowed low. Terror and fear erupted in fits and starts. She acknowledged that she was terrified. Her greatest fear was that Wyatt would perish. The doctor pushed the operating room door open unexpectedly.

Don Reed was grief-stricken and rushed to the hospital with Eva. Their expressions darkened when they discovered that Wyatt had only been in an accident to save Ivy. Don Reed had seen a lot in his life, so his expression was nonchalant. He only sat silently in Wyatt’s ward. His butler escorted him away when his body could no longer support him. Eva cried for two hours in Wyatt’s ward. Ivy sat quietly in the VIP ward’s living room, listening to Eva’s beratement with a stoic face. “Wyatt, I told you to avoid that woman! She’s a curse! Every time you’re in danger, it’s always her fault. You almost drowned the last time you went out to sea. What is this? You even sent away from your beloved sister for that bitch! She must completely enchant you... Please, Wyatt, wake up...” Eva’s eyes welled up with tears. Ken and Greg exchanged conflicted looks with the motionless Ivy. She was unfazed as if she didn’t care that Eva was blaming her. When Leo and Cooper arrived, they heard Eva’s hysterical cries from the ward. Their expressions became irritated. Leo walked over to his daughter and patted her on the shoulder. “Don’t be concerned, Ivy. Pack your belongings and return home to rest.” Ivy had a terrible appearance. She’d been at the hospital for two days and one night. She hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep, in days. With reddened eyes, she looked up at her father. Her heart was broken. Ken also approached her to persuade her. “Indeed, Ms. Morgan. President Reed has a good physique, according to the doctor. He only got a concussion and a bone fracture in his leg this time, so he’ll be fine. It is more important that you get some rest.” Wyatt, after all, would be devastated if he saw her like this. Eva became enraged when she heard the commotion. “Do you still have the guts to sleep? My son is currently in there! How dare you sleep when my son is in this state because of you?” Eva had finally found an opportunity to vent her rage on Ivy.

Leo’s face darkened instantly. However, arguing with this woman at this time would be futile. Cooper’s piercing gaze swept over her. His tone of voice was icy. “Mrs. Reed, your son, saved my sister, but she did not push him towards the car. How could you point the finger at her and blame her when he risked his life for her?” The cold vibes Cooper was giving off made everyone around him shiver. Even though his voice was lowered, it still carried an ominous threat. Eva’s throat tightened. She had almost forgotten that the Morgans were not your typical wealthy family. How could they stand by and watch their daughter and sister being bullied like this? They would not tolerate any insults directed at Ivy. Eva screamed and opened her mouth. Eva and her son had a strained relationship because of Ivy. “You…” The doctor entered with a solemn expression as soon as she spoke. “Madam, the patient is still sleeping. He needs to recover in silence!” With an exasperated expression, he emphasized the word “silence.” Eva was about to be ejected by the doctor. Cooper gave a cold smile. “Mrs. Reed, you are only concerned with your satisfaction and are unconcerned about your son’s life, based on how you are screaming.” Eva was so enraged that her face turned bright red, but she was about to retort when she noticed the doctor’s warning look. She had no choice but to hurl herself onto the sofa in rage. Cooper approached Ivy. He picked up her shattered phone from the table and carried her bag to Greg. With his other hand, he drew Ivy up and said flatly, “Come on, let’s go home.” Ivy stood up and returned her gaze to Ken, who nodded and gave her a reassuring gesture. If anything happened, he would contact her. In response, Ivy gave a faint smile.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
