The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 186

Chapter 186

Wyatt’s expression went unnoticed in the dim light. His face returned to its usually cold, noble, and unattainable look when Ivy pushed him back into the banquet hall. He was shivering from head to toe. Wyatt shifted his gaze to Ivy. His aura was contagious, and his eyes were gentle. After repressing all his emotions, his voice was calm. “It’s all right; I can continue waiting.” Wyatt would not give up even if there were no hope. Ivy rolled her eyes and continued to push him forward, oblivious to his words. Everyone could see that Ivy and Wyatt were physically and temperamentally identical from afar. The two of them appeared to be on good terms. Everyone secretly hoped to remarry soon. If Reed Corporation and Morgan Corporation merged, their industry dominance would be even stronger! The party drew to a close. Ivy followed Leo to bid the guest farewell. Wyatt purposefully fell behind. Leo smiled as he looked at Wyatt. “Return home and get some rest. Take care of your health.” He sounded highly concerned about Wyatt. Ivy regarded her father with concern, sensing that something was wrong. Wyatt nodded and smiled. “Then I’ll catch up with you tomorrow.” “Sure.” Ivy looked at Leo in surprise after dispatching Wyatt. “Tomorrow? What are your plans for him, Dad?” Leo patted her hand and regarded her with anticipation. “As a birthday present, he has organized a twenty-day round-the-world trip for me.” Leo desired to do this for an extended period and took time away from his affairs. Ivy squinted. “Are you going alone?” “Certainly not; you’re joining me!” Leo regarded her expectantly and sternly. “You’re not going to

abandon me, are you?” With that gaze, it appeared as though he would disown her if she dared to refuse. Ivy had lost her father’s affection. Simba pushed her out! Ivy gave an endearing smile. “Certainly not. I simply believe that it is too abrupt.” Leo chuckled. “Surprises are invariably unexpected! Indeed, I’m quite pleased with Wyatt’s present this time.” ‘He must have put in a lot of effort planning, making Dad agree.’ Ivy had a sneaking suspicion that Wyatt was concealing something. Ivy stated hesitantly, “But I have a lot on my plate at the company...” “Simply hand it over to Cooper. If Cooper is too busy, Sebastian can take over. If Sebastian incurs any losses, he will simply have to make up the difference.” Leo stated casually as if he had no desire for anything to derail his plans. Sebastian, who was walking over behind them, came to a halt and widened his eyes. ‘What did Dad mean? Am I not his son?’ Ivy was helpless and had no choice but to agree. Consider it a complimentary trip! Sebastian trudged forward, resentful. “Dad, I want to go as well!” Leo gave him a sidelong glance. “Get lost!” “You can’t let Ivy go. I’m the best at eating, drinking, and having a good time!” Sebastian made a concerted effort to establish his legitimacy. ‘How could they abandon me in this state?! I want to have some fun as well! Why should I act as a substitute for Ivy?’ Leo’s face flushed with rage as he wrapped his arms around his chest. “Do not compel me to commit an act of violence on my birthday!” He was a frightening figure. Sebastian shuddered and refrained from pressing any further. He fled immediately for his life. Back at Morgan Mansion. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

Ivy was finally at ease and comfortable. She hugged Simba and played with it briefly before heading to the bathroom to take a bath and apply a face mask. She emerged after freshening up and looked at Simba, who was lying on its back on the bed, happily flinging its four little legs. She shook her head and laughed. She was suddenly reminded of the trip Wyatt had arranged. It was pretty unexpected, but she reasoned that since she needed to leave, it would be better to invite more people. She picked up her phone and dialed a number in response to that thought. “Is Pierce there, Mr. Seely?” Ivy hung up, opened her laptop, and accessed her email. Each day, there was a plethora of documents to deal with. Greg would sort through her mailbox and deal with the rest on her behalf. Ivy sent Greg a message reminding him of a few more pressing matters, one of which was the ABC Corporation’s project. She lacked confidence in Jack’s ability to handle everything. Simba jumped into Ivy’s lap while she was occupied with work. It held its head up with its small front paws, creating an extremely adorable appearance. “I miss Papa, Mama.” Ivy, who was about to embrace Simba, froze and instead glared at it. “Why would you miss him?” Simba’s whiskers twitched. “It’s Shaira Winter’s emotional interaction setting.” ‘To cultivate deep feelings, I need to think of Mama and Papa ten times a day.’ Ivy gave a light laugh. ‘Even emotions can be manipulated by AI, huh?’ She stroked its head. “Then why are you so indifferent to others? For instance, what about Sebastian and my father?” Sebastian, upon hearing this, waggled its tail. It spoke with pride. “Grampy says I’m the best-behaved child in the Morgan family, far superior to that brat Sebastian!” Ivy couldn’t stop herself from laughing. Leo was constantly mocking Sebastian in front of Simba. While conversing with Simba, she completed some work and began packing her suitcase.

The light rain continued throughout the night, and the sky cleared the following morning. Even the air had a pleasant aroma. The golden afterglow in the room was created by the sunlight filtering through the gauze curtain. Due to the fact that Ivy was not required to work, she had a flexible schedule and awoke naturally. It was already past 9:00 a.m. when she opened her eyes. She walked slowly over to freshen up, dress, and apply some light makeup. Her phone was devoid of messages. Ivy suddenly realized she had forgotten to schedule a meeting with Wyatt or her father last night. As a result, Ivy sat on the balcony to meditate and relax her body. It was already 11:00 a.m. when she walked out of her room. As soon as she reached the stairwell, she heard voices from downstairs. “Ivy worked until midnight last night and awoke early this morning for a meeting. She works extremely hard.” Ivy came to a halt in her tracks, feeling slightly guilty for waking up after 9:00 a.m. Without saying a word, she could hear Sebastian laughing on the side. Wyatt’s tone was gentle, patient, and polite. “Ivy’s excellence is a result of her natural ability and dedication. That is why she has accomplished so much in today’s world.” “Indeed…” Leo couldn’t agree on anything else. Ivy could no longer bear listening to it. ‘Is this a meeting of commendation?!’ She rushed downstairs with hasty steps. Sebastian sat on the sofa, a lazy smile on his face. “Has our young lady finally gotten up?” Ivy gave him a sideways glance, ignored him, and was taken aback when she noticed everyone else. “Oh, you’re all here, aren’t you? “I just got back from a meeting.” She lied effortlessly. Leo was ecstatic with her response. Ivy could easily fool anyone. “Good morning, Ms. Morgan!”

Jimmy was, unexpectedly, present. Ivy greeted with a nod. Pierce sat obediently beside Marco. He appeared to be less energetic as if he had been reprimanded previously. Pierce’s eyes glowed when he saw Ivy. He looked at his father and kept his buttocks glued to the sofa, his chest feeling stuffy. “It’s about time,” Wyatt said, glancing at the Patek Philippe on his wrist. “Let us proceed.” Pierce erupted. “Okay! Let’s go! Yay! I’m leaving for a vacation with my pretty lady!” Wyatt’s face tensed slightly. “Are you also going?” “Yeah!” Wyatt gave the boy a perplexed look. “How is Mr. Seely to know you’re going alone?” Marco frowned and stated matter-of-factly, “Right, I’m not comfortable with him going alone, so I’ll accompany him.”
