The CEO’s Hidden Love Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires

Chapter 1616

In the bustling ambiance of the diner, Miles and Calvin sat across from each other, the air charged with an unspoken tension.novelbin

This wasn't their first exchange, yet the formality of this meeting lent it a gravity they hadn't encountered in their casual run-ins before.

Miles, with his stern demeanor, contrasted sharply with Calvin, who seemed to be in high spirits from the moment he sat down. A pair of dimples danced on his cheeks as he moved with an ease that belied the seriousness of their rendezvous.

Before Miles could respond, Calvin chimed in again, a playful twist to his words. "If you're footing the bill, I might just go wild with my order. Just don't pull a fast one and dash when it's time to pay." He waved off his own comment with a chuckle, "But then again, I doubt you would. The Lopezes are swimming in dough, aren't they? A few bucks here and there won't make a dent."

"Is the food any good here?" Calvin broke the ice, his tone light.

Miles let out a heavy sigh, his patience wearing thin, no mood for jest. "What's it gonna take for you to back off from Felicity?"

Calvin paused, his amusement evident as he set down the menu to look at Miles. "Oh? What's your price for leaving Felicity alone?"

The tension in Miles's jaw was palpable, his gaze darkening. "She's my girlfriend."

"But not for much longer! If we're counting, you two are on borrowed time, a couple of weeks tops."

What irked Miles the most was Calvin's smugness, his lips curved in a confident smirk as if victory was already his.

"Maybe I should start calling you Langston, huh? Let me put it to you straight. Sure, my folks don't run anything as big as the Lopez Corporation, but we're not exactly pinching pennies. I'm an only child, what use do I have for more money? Ambition for wealth and power? Not my thing." Calvin paused, his voice softening, "All I want is Felicity."

His phone pinged at that moment, and a sly grin spread across Calvin's face as he glanced at it.

"Arguing here is pointless, really. It all comes down to Felicity's choice."

Miles's fingers twitched, a flicker of unease in his eyes. "You asked her to come?"

"Yep." Calvin shrugged, a hint of triumph in his gesture. "Felicity will be here any minute now."

He knew exactly how to unsettle another man, asserting dominance in this peculiar love triangle.

But deep down, Calvin was well aware of the truth. Felicity's heart belonged to Miles, the man sitting across from him. It was her

profound love for him that made her willing to step aside, to not stand in

his way. .

...

When Felicity arrived, Calvin was casually tucking into his steak, the atmosphere more akin to a family gathering than a tense showdown.

Miles, on the other hand, was the picture of composure, his features set in a stoic mask, exuding an aura of silent resolve.

Felicity had rehearsed her entrance

mentally, but all her prepared lines

fled at the sight of Miles. Her throat

felt suddenly choked, her minat

blank. .

"Felicity, over here!" Calvin was the first to spot her, setting aside his cutlery to greet her.

She glanced at Miles involuntarily, her hands balling into fists by her sides. He met her gaze, his voice a low rumble, "Felicity."

Fearing she'd give away her turmoil, Felicity quickly averted her gaze and took her seat.

"Let's not beat around the bush," she said, trying to inject some levity into the situation.

Calvin, ever the charmer, winked at her. "Well, he invited me for dinner! And he's curious, between him and me, who will you choose?"

Felicity was caught off guard, not expecting to face this question the moment she sat down.

The next moment, Miles's warm hand clasped her wrist, his touch searing. "Felicity, I can't lose you."
