Chapter 1226
Chapter 1226
Leopold furrowed his brow slightly, "He's Arnold's son, just my nephew. I can't possibly treat him as my
own child. Do I look like I have nothing better to do than to fight over Arnold's kid?" His tone was ice-
cold, like a gust of wind in December, making Aurelia shudder.
There was no love lost between William and him, and it seemed that some family ties just weren't
meant to be.
"So, if you don't want him as your son, just leave it be. It's not like he's keen on calling you 'Dad'
anyway."
Leopold gave her a piercing look, sharp and full of hidden meanings, sensing something unsaid in her
words.
"Your words sound odd to me. Are you suggesting I should wrestle William away from Arnold?"
Aurelia averted her gaze subconsciously, avoiding eye contact, "I... that's not what I meant at all. Don't
get the wrong idea."
Leopold's fingers gently lifted her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes. His keen intuition told him
something was amiss.
"Honey, don't betray my trust in you, and don't let me down, because that would break my heart."
Her heart was in tumult, feeling as though she was being grilled over an open flame.
"Darling, isn't it time to start homeschooling the kids? Remember, we started with Kane when he was
just three months old, and that's why he's so bright."
She quickly changed the subject, taking his large hand and placing it on her slightly protruding belly.
Leopold stroked her stomach, then stood up, "I'll fetch a book to read to the little babies."
"Okay," Aurelia nodded, a sly twinkle in her eye, relieved to have steered the conversation away.
In the yard, Nova tugged at William's shirt and said, "William, I want to poop."
Puckering her lips, with a little effort, a distinct sound came from her diaper.
"Nova pooped," Mira exclaimed.
William hurried to call the nanny to take her inside and change the diaper.
Mira stuck out her tongue playfully, "Nova will be hungry after having a poop because I used to feel
hungry after having a poop."
Nina pinched her chubby cheek, "I sure hope Nova doesn't end up a little butterball like you."
Mira puffed up her cheeks in protest, "I'm not a butterball, and I'm not fat at all."
Nina always teased her about her weight, which was so unfair.
Nina made a face at her, "If you're overweight, you're fat."
Mira stamped her foot in frustration, "I'm not fat. I'm not a butterball."
"Let's calm down, you two," Kane intervened, playing the peacemaker, "Come on, Nina, Mira, let's not
fight. Let's play a game of 'Spy' instead."
Mira asked, "I'm not fat, right, Kane?"
"Nope, not at all," Kane replied with a smile.
Mira grinned, showing off her pearly whites, "I knew it. I'm not fat, just a little over the ideal weight."This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
The nanny brought Nova back, and she gave everyone a sweet smile, "All clean, smelling nice."
She was proudly announcing that she had ditched her stink and was now all fresh and clean.
"Let me smell," William said, lifting her up for a sniff, "You do smell good. Our Nova is so sweet."
Nova giggled and crawled around on the play mat, "I'm sweet, so sweet."
William gave her a loving peck on the cheek because Nova was just too adorable.
Skyler brought over the game cards, and they all settled down to play 'Spy.'
Upstairs, after Leopold finished reading a short story, they both went inside to listen to some music.
Aurelia smiled faintly, "The twins must include a daughter."
Surely, it couldn't be two more boys.
"Yes," Leopold nodded, Jessica hoped for twins, one of each, because the Stirling family had yet to
have such a pair.
