The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 2113

Chapter 2113

Christopher and Taylor scowled.

"What are the cops doing here? I don't care how you do it. Just stop them," Taylor barked, his eyes bulging with rage.

The bodyguard broke out in a cold sweat. "B-But they have already-"

"Who is the captain?" Christopher asked grimacingly, his pale head hung low.

"Ralph Thompson."

Taylor nervously turned to Christopher, who kept a stoic expression.

The door to the ward burst open, and Ralph, dressed in civilian clothes, stormed in to meet Christopher's menacing gaze. A gust of cold wind accompanied him.

"I'm sure I don't have to introduce myself, Mr. Iverson." Ralph smirked sarcastically and flashed his badge.

"Long time no see, Ralph." Christopher smiled kindly as always.

"Don't try to be friendly, Mr. Iverson."

Ralph, a seasoned detective, had faced off against many violent criminals in his lifetime. Yet he could not hide his hostility when confronting Christopher. "It makes my day when Justin cozies up to me, but your attitude just makes me sick."Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

The menace was barely visible in Christopher's eyes.

The Thompsons knew exactly how to hurt Christopher the most.

"I don't care why you're here, but your unwelcome presence is disturbing Mr. Iverson's rest. We can sue you, officer." Taylor flipped out, unable to tolerate such disrespect to his boss.

"Captain Thompson, I'm happy to cooperate with the police for whatever reason you are here for, but I am currently undergoing treatment. You should at least let me take my medication." Christopher finally appeared frail.

"Hang on."

At the wave of Ralph's arm, two police officers in the back grabbed Taylor from both sides and took the syringe from his hand.

"What are you doing?" Taylor put up a fight and yelled.

"Keep still before we charge you for assaulting a uniformed officer!" One of the police officers shouted.

Christopher lowered his gaze. "What's the meaning of this, Captain?"

"We've got a tip about your suspected involvement in drug use and possession. We are

placing you under arrest." Ralph looked ahead and drew close.

Christopher was cuffed.

"Mr. Iverson!" Taylor struggled. "You need proof to make an arrest. We can sue you for slander if you can't produce evidence."

Hiding his violence behind his eyes, Christopher stayed put.

"We won't make an arrest without proof." Ralph looked askance at the wicked man, his fists clenching. "Come with us, Mr. Iverson."

Due to Christopher's arrest, Taylor, his confidante, was brought to the station for questioning.

However, Taylor was loyal to Christopher and denied any drug use.

Taylor walked out of the interrogation room, looking haggard in the wee hours of the morning. He ran into Christopher's attorney, who had been waiting in the lobby.

"Mr. Iverson's arrest over drug use has spread to the public, Taylor. The stock will drop when the trading market opens tomorrow." Attorney Lyles looked concerned.

"The shares don't matter at a time like this. The priority is to get Mr. Iverson out."

Taylor paced around, his voice hoarse. "What's the word on the police?"

"The drug you were going to administer to Mr. Iverson isn't some medication. It's an illegal and dangerous substance that's been used in human experimentation."

Shocked, Taylor gasped sharply. "What did you say?"

"That drug caused a major scandal in Savrow, and the police have determined that the drug is falsely classified as a pharmaceutical product. They have reason to believe that Mr. Iverson has been administered this very drug during his stay at the hospital." Attorney Lyles 'throat went dry. "So Mr. Iverson will have trouble clearing his name."

"That's utter nonsense. The shots Mr. Iverson has been getting..."

Chills ran down Taylor's spine. "These are medications to treat his illness. How did the medication become drugs? Something is wrong. Someone is colluding with the police to frame Mr. Iverson."
