Chapter 27 - Breaking the Speed Limit
Chapter 27 - Breaking the Speed Limit
"Claudina," Arthur began, his voice calm as he accelerated the car. He seemed to be able to focus
instantly, his eyes rapidly taking in the positions of the other cars. His only experience with driving had
been the past few days, yet he managed to keep any panic at bay. "Are you used to cars going this
fast?"
Claudina shook her head. “Even though I own a sports car, I rarely use it and I'm not very confident
driving it. I usually rely on a private driver for transportation, it's the policy of a company like mine.” She
answered slowly, turning to Arthur.
"However, you need not worry about me," she said reassuringly.
"Your safety is more important. Do whatever you want; you can drive this car as fast as you want and I
don't mind one bit. I trust you completely," she added, her voice wavering slightly as she tried to hide
her face and gripped the edge of the chair back tightly.
[Host, If you like, you can utilize your VIP points to access the next tier of driving abilities]
[That'll definitely liven up this car chase! Plus, there's a camera up in the helicopter capturing
everything. Who knew you could get VIP points by giving the audience a show?]
"Can you not attempt to make jokes in this serious situation, System!" Arthur exclaimed, pressing down
the pedal further as the car sped up to 160 kilometers per hour. With a loud screech, he swerved past
another car and zoomed ahead of another.
The sirens of the police car resounded behind him, growing louder and louder.
"This is an urgent call to the driver of the car with the license plate S 3969 X, please pull over
immediately!"
The words echoed from the chopper hovering in the sky above.
Arthur glanced at the screen, which displayed a map of the city streets. He frantically searched for the
best route to escape the police pursuit, but it was proving difficult this time. He was stuck on the
highway, and all he could do was maintain a safe distance in hopes of finding an alternate route to
evade the police.
Arthur drove his car incredibly quickly; it was almost as if he could effortlessly weave around the car in
front of him and make a sharp right turn. Suddenly, a large truck appeared in his path, so he gently
applied the brakes and then quickly veered right before accelerating again.
Claudina tightly gripped the edge of her seat, trying to force her eyes open, her expression tense. Yet,
she couldn't help but feel that Arthur was a skilled driver as if accelerating to this speed was second
nature to him. She glanced at Arthur, and, despite their pressing predicament, he appeared composed.
She pondered, "How does he do it?"
Meanwhile, Arthur was still attempting to survive, relying on his driving skills of 10 points. He felt he
could handle the speed he was going. This time, he had improved senses and a quicker speed of
thinking and focus, which, combined with his driving skills, although not yet professional, allowed him to
maintain his car's speed of 160 km/hour.
The sound of the car humming melodiously even though it was traveling at full speed. The sound of car
horns and other vehicles repeatedly beeping as Arthur quickly overtook them, and the sound of police
car sirens from a distance enabled Arthur to get priority over the other cars he passed.
Despite his efforts to escape, Arthur could not shake the helicopter that was still in pursuit of him. He
saw, too, that someone had a rifle pointed directly at him.
"Are they insane?" he thought. "If they shoot me, there's a chance Claudina might get hurt too!"
Claudina glanced at Arthur, her expression filled with worry. She wanted to persuade him to turn herself
in, so he could find a way to escape more safely. But it seemed as though he was still determined to
stand his ground.
He was absolutely resolute and refused to waver from his chosen path. His mentality was rare among
the wealthy men she had encountered in the past; most of them relied on their wealth, hiring
bodyguards to do their bidding rather than taking action themselves.
People gasped in shock as they watched the news broadcast of the police chase live on national
television. Suspicions were raised that Claudina, the snow princess, had been kidnapped by an
unknown person, who was now driving her sports car at a rapid pace down the street. The police were
attempting to catch up with them.
"This is unbelievable!" exclaimed one of them. "It's like something you would see in an action movie - I
didn't think car chases like this were real!"
"Whoever is behind the wheel must be a professional driver," another marveled.
"The way they maneuvered the car was incredible - that's not something a regular person could do!"
Arthur began to sense that the number of police cars pursuing him was multiplying, and the streets he
was traversing were strangely deserted in all directions. Clutching the steering wheel firmly, he realized
he needed to take the situation more seriously.
"Alright, system. I think I'll allocate 10 VIP points to my driving skills. Let's see what kind of performance
people would like to see tonight."

Arthur immediately felt his head filling with various kinds of information, and his brain seemed to be
working better to recognize the signs and signals on the streets. He felt as if he had been born and
raised on four wheels. His bond with the car he was driving was like no other.
With a roar of the engine, Arthur pressed down on the accelerator, and the car sped up, its loud engine
reverberating through the city streets. The sound of screeching tires filled the air as Arthur rapidly
overtook the cars in front of him, his reflexes so sharp that a normal person would have a hard time
keeping up with his speed.
"He's ahead by a fraction of a second," someone remarked.
"The driver of the blue sports car," the person in the helicopter declared, "is expected to pull over
immediately. Otherwise, we'll shoot the wheels off the car you're driving."
Arthur felt his anger rising, more intense than ever before that night. It was clear that they were not
bluffing. He glanced in the rearview mirror, catching a glimpse of the person in the helicopter, rifle in
hand, ready to pull the trigger.
The sound of a gunshot echoed, followed closely by the tumultuous explosion, heading straight for the
car that Arthur was driving. With impressive reflexes, he managed to quickly swerve to the left,
narrowly avoiding being hit.
"Shit! These guys are so inept!" he hissed, never ceasing to step on the gas.
