The Killer Queen (Noella Briony)

Chapter 349

Chapter 349

Noella shot Palmer a silent glance.

Was she asking Palmer to follow her out now, to her room of all places?

Palmer rubbed his nose, a hint of regret laced his voice.

“Shame, I thought you were inviting me over to your room.”

“You’ve never been?”

“Sneaking through windows isn’t quite the same as being invited openly.”

Noella got it then - Palmer was lamenting the lack of formal invitation in the past!

Now he was talking about entering her room in broad daylight. When he used to sneak in through the window, he wasn’t too concerned about appearances then, was he?

“It wasn’t me who asked you to climb through the window.”

“Noella, so cold-hearted. If it wasn’t for missing you, why would I do such a thing?”

Despite his words, Palmer stood his ground, stretching his arms towards Noella, opening up his warm embrace. “Come here for a hug, I’ll go anywhere with you.” Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

They were only a few steps apart, Palmer’s shadow merging with Noella’s on the carpet. It seemed even their shadows were embracing.

Noella took two steps forward, wrapping her arms around Palmer’s lean waist. Under his thin shirt, his muscle lines were palpable, a walking hormone.

Just stepping out of the study, Noella saw Elara waving at her.

“Noella, are you two heading out?”

“Yeah, got some errands, what’s up?”

Elara pouted, gesturing towards Ulrich and Malvina's shut doors. “I saw while Malvina was speaking, Ulrich seemed a bit upset. Do you think he’s at a disadvantage in their relationship?”

Noella paused, then decided not to disclose what she had seen earlier to Elara.

Patting Elara on the shoulder, Noella softly reassured her. “Sis, have you ever heard that the most cunning hunters often appear in the guise of their prey? I’m more worried about Malvina being at a disadvantage.”

It looked like Ulrich was emotionally led by Malvina. But the one craving love was Malvina, yet the one holding it was Ulrich.

Hearing this, Elara grew more concerned.

“No way, I can handle Ulrich losing a bit, but what if Malvina gets the short end of the stick?”

“Don’t worry, Ulrich seems really into Malvina. Didn’t dad say, the Schnabel kids are all fiercely loyal?”

Elara briefly calmed down.

“I’ll ask again tomorrow. Malvina’s a girl, all alone, Ulrich can’t treat her badly.”

Stepping outside, Noella got into the car Palmer had opened for her, only to see another car leaving the Schnabel’s driveway.

“Is that Beckett’s car? Is he off to a late shift?”

The Schnabel and Rising Glory business was mostly managed by Beckett, often staying overnight at the office.

But hadn’t Sienna said something about blind date tomorrow? Even arranged a meet-up at home.

Was Beckett driving off to skip tomorrow’s setup?

“Ms. Schnabel, where to?”

As Palmer leaned in to fasten Noella’s seat belt, he didn’t pull away immediately, instead, propping one hand next to her on the seat, the other encircling her waist.

The car’s interior light remained off, only the dim, romantic glow from the street lamps outside filtering through, casting diamond-shaped shadows inside, adding a hint of intimacy.

Noella, feeling Palmer’s proximity, felt her heartbeat spike.

It seemed her feelings were clear because every time she saw him, her heart would skip a beat.

“May I kiss you, my beautiful fiancée?”

Palmer patiently awaited Noella’s response. Without hearing her say a word, he felt the fragrance of her lipstick touch his lips.

It was like fireworks igniting in his heart!

A tingling sensation spread from his spine throughout his body, and amid their intertwined breaths, Palmer whispered in her ear with a slight pant.

“We can’t go any further, you’re still young, and it could hurt. If we’re to continue, it must wait until we’re engaged.”

Realizing what Palmer was implying, Noella wished she could bury her face in her hands!

Watching her cover her face and turn away, Palmer chuckled softly, caressing Noella’s cute little ears before sitting back and buckling up.

After a moment, Noella slapped her cheeks and muttered, “To Falen Gemstones.”

“My fiancée wants to go to the office in the middle of the night?”

“Is that not okay?”

As Palmer steered the car onto the road, he tenderly replied, “Of course, if you wanted to reach for the stars, I’d be right there with you.”

“You don’t need to reach for the stars, you can see them right here.”

Noella glanced at the night sky, where the stars twinkled dimly, the Big Dipper shining perpetually bright, the heavens tranquil and serene.

Touching the corner of her lips, Noella added, “I mean, I can see the stars right by your side.”

Joy and satisfaction flooded Palmer’s heart. He freed one hand to hold Noella’s, bringing it to his lips as if it were a precious jewel.

...

At Falen Gemstones.

The moonlight was soft, stars sparse, but the ground floor of the company was lit, faint flashlight beams moving across the sales department.

Noella tapped into the company’s surveillance, only to find it all turned off at this hour! Only a few had that level of access, including Cosmo!

As a jewelry company, the ground floor was crucial, housing countless precious gems.

Noella signaled Palmer with a gesture.

“Let’s check it out.”

“Alright.”

As the top two assassins on the leaderboard, Palmer and Noella had a mutual respect for each other that was born out of absolute synergy!

Without needing a word from Noella, Palmer sidestepped and slipped through a side door into the company.

Noella adjusted her trench coat and walked towards the source of the flashlight's glow!

Voices echoed from a room up ahead. Cosmo was fuming.

"That damn Noella Schnabel, what the hell does she think she's doing? I've been at this company for years, and she thinks she can just waltz in and shake things up?"

The voice of the HR manager, Honora, followed suit.

"What does that girl know? It's probably someone else trying to target you using her as a pawn."

"You're right, but if it wasn't for this brat, I wouldn't be in this mess…" Cosmo's voice took on a sinister tone. "I've got some guys who don't care about their own lives. We'll find an opportunity to take that damn girl."

Honora screamed, "Are you insane? You want to kidnap Ms. Schnabel? Aren't you afraid the Schnabel family will rip you apart?"

Cosmo let out a malicious laugh. "Not kidnap, I'll get someone to seduce her, film it, and even the Schnabel family can't stand their daughter being in such a video, right? I just want to see if Mr. Pollack still wants her after seeing those videos, what kind of man would want such a tainted woman!"
