Chapter 1693 Gloria Slipped Away

Above all else, Rocky understood that Gloria wanted to use him. Once he knew that, he determined that they had shared interests and that they could use them to work together. Even though their plans were separate, it did not mean that they could not cooperate.

"Our Godly Genius also wanted you to know that she will return the engagement covenant to you if you can get us out of here," Purple added when Rocky didn't say anything. It was strange that he had hesitated.

"Honestly, the engagement covenant means nothing to me. It's just a piece of paper." What Purple and Gloria weren't aware of was that Rocky wasn't the man from the Shura Race and the engagement was Odin's liability, not Rocky's. As long as he took the mask off his face, no one would ever know who he was!

"What? You're not going to help us?" Purple frowned.

"I will help you leave, but only if I know your Godly Genius will become my ally and help me in all the tasks that follow," Rocky stated. He must make very specific conditions if he was willing to take risks for them.

"You want her to be your ally?" Purple narrowed her eyes. Why would Rocky want to form an alliance with Gloria? He should be focused on dealing with the engagement covenant instead of worrying about who was on his team. It was something that neither Purple nor Gloria had seen coming. Gilbert was detaining them here so that they would hand over the covenant, which meant that he didn't want anything to do with the Genie Fief. But now Rocky wanted to team up with them. It seemed like Gilbert and him were not discussing their true desires.

However, there was one thing that was just like her Godly Genius had expected. Rocky didn't want to be engaged to Valeria! Purple couldn't help but admire her master's wonderful foresight for a moment.

"Take my offer back to your master. Bring an alliance contract to see me at this time tomorrow. Go now!" After he was done talking, Rocky turned around and went straight back into the depths of the Ghost Palace.

The situation was still desirable because Rocky was willing to help them. Purple rushed back to Gloria, excited to tell her the good news.

"Were there any conditions?" Gloria didn't waste any time acting surprised.

"He said he wants to become allies with us and that he wants us to help him in the following tasks," Purple replied.

"That's a solid condition. I want the same thing. I will help him and make use of him at the same time." Gloria smiled confidently and nodded her head.

"So you're going to agree?"

"Why not? It may seem like a loss for us now, but it's only temporary. If we become allies with him, the advantages will outweigh the disadvantages!" Gloria exclaimed. She had been mentally preparing for those conditions since she had first formed her own plans.

"By the way, he also said that he didn't care about whether we have the engagement covenant or not!" Purple added.

"Oh, really? I wasn't expecting that. But we will still have to return the covenant to him. After all, we have achieved our goal." Gloria had come here to ruin the engagement between Rocky and Valeria

and find out the truth behind Rocky. Despite her failing to break off the engagement, she had unexpectedly gained an alliance with him, which had been her original intention. Rocky was very satisfied with Gloria's quick response. He was even happier when he saw the engagement covenant. He had said he didn't want it in order to test Gloria's sincerity. Now that she had taken the initiative to return it, he knew he was her main target. She didn't just simply come to destroy the marriage between the two fiefs.

"Sir, I have a question for you. How are you going to help us leave?" Purple asked, looking at Rocky with curious eyes.

"Wait a minute," Rocky said, holding up a finger as he turned around and walked into the pharmacy. He took out two human skin masks and the clothes that belonged to the family retainers that he had prepared and handed them to Purple.

"This is..." Purple held up the two human skin masks and stared at them with her mouth gaping open.

"In two hours, the guest hall you're staying in will be on fire. When that happens, put on the human skin masks and clothes and leave," Rocky said.

"That's it?" Purple hadn't expected the plan to be so simple.

"Once you're out of this mansion, your own abilities will protect you. Besides, your Godly Genius still has the engagement covenant in her hand." Rocky knew how strong Gloria and Purple were. As long

as there was no Emperor Realm master in their way, it would be easy for them to escape. All they required was an opportunity.

Purple nodded her head after a couple moments, now understanding the plan. Even though she still had her doubts, she gathered up the human skin masks and clothes and went back to the guest hall to inform Gloria.

As she examined the two human skin masks, Gloria couldn't keep the smile off her face. "This is a great plan. I'm really looking forward to meeting this guy again in the future."

Just as Rocky had said, two hours later, the backyard of the guest hall where Gloria and Purple lived was alight with flames. They licked at the sky, alerting everyone in the leader's mansion to their presence.

Quickly, Gloria and Purple donned the human skin masks and the clothes.

Meanwhile, the masters and guards were running for the guest hall, ready to extinguish the fire. They made a beeline for the backyard. None of them saw Gloria or Purple as they walked down the hallway because of their disguises. The two of them went outside and flew away from the mansion undetected.

By the time the two Emperor Realm masters in charge of the guest hall came to their senses, Gloria and Purple were far away. Panicked, they woke others to search for them.

When Gilbert learned that Gloria and Purple had used the fire to escape from his mansion, anger seared through him. But now, being angry was useless. He sent people to chase after them and get back the engagement covenant back.

He had no idea that it was safe in Rocky's hands now.

The next day, they set off for the Nether Fire Land.

Even though it was early in the morning, the square of the leader's mansion was full of the elders and the family retainers that wanted to see Rocky and Valeria off. Leticia and the other people she had brought with her were also there.

"Guys, this trip to the Nether Fire Land will be extremely dangerous. I'm not asking you to successfully complete the task. I just want you to take care of yourselves and at least pass the trial of this task and make some progress in your cultivation," Gilbert warned.

"Don't worry, sir. I will try my best." Rocky didn't seem as worried.

"Here. Take these three Potent Force Runes that I have condensed with my spiritual power. Each of them has power that is equal to that of a Shura Realm master. Use them if you find the need," Gilbert said, taking out three golden runes and handing them to Rocky.
