Chapter 1719 The Nether Dragon King Got Out Of The Lair

"You..." When she saw the joking expression on Rocky's face, Gloria was rendered speechless. Her words had come out because of anger. She didn't really mean them. It just made her pissed off to see Rocky taking advantage of the situation and teasing her.

"Now that the lair is full of beasts and they are chasing us, it will be a lot harder to get out," Valeria said in a serious voice, ending the playful mood.

"I'm not worried about the beasts. It's the Nether Dragon King that scares me. We've disturbed it, and now, it might not stop chasing after us," Rocky said as he frowned slightly.

"Or it could have returned to its lair," Gloria guessed, hoping for the best.

"I hope so," Rocky said. The truth was, he was strong enough to fight against the Nether Dragon King, but he did not want to expose his true strength yet. He would have to hold back and continue keeping a low profile for a while longer.

After a day of being pursued by many beasts, Rocky and the others reached the vicinity of the entrance. As they were preparing to go outside, something suddenly flashed in Valeria's pocket.

She took out the flashing object and observed it. It was a jade rune that was made from a special material. Blood red light was shining from it.

"Damn it! Something must have happened to the guard team!" Valeria exclaimed as the red light reflected in her wide eyes.

The jade rune in her hand was called the Alarming Rune, and its purpose was to convey dangerous information. Usually, two Alarming Runes were matched and each one was given to a different person. If one of them was broken, the other would sense it and send out a warning signal.

Just before they had entered the Nether Dragon King's lair, Valeria had given an Alarming Rune to one of the Spiritual Emperors from the Flower Fief. That way, she would know if they got attacked.

And now that the Alarming Rune was sending out a signal, it meant that the joint guard team must be in trouble.

"Do you think that the guard teams that belong to the other Godly Geniuses could have attacked our guard team?" Rocky's eyes narrowed.

"There's no way of knowing. This signal just warns us that we shouldn't leave right now," Valeria replied.

"Plus, I don't think any of the other Godly Genius teams will attack our team at this critical moment. Is it possible that the Nether Dragon King went outside to kill them?" Gloria asked.

"If that were the case, it would be very bad!" Rocky's face grew more serious. There were lots of guard teams out there waiting for their Godly Geniuses to return, and if the Nether Dragon King got out, lots of them would die.

"What should we do now?" Valeria asked in a shaky voice. She knew that there was a high chance of the Nether Dragon King causing more trouble for them.

"I don't know about you guys, but I have to go and see what's going on out there!" Rocky exclaimed. Nervousness filled the pit of his stomach as he thought about the current state of Vivian and the joint guard team. If the Nether Dragon King was really out there, then Rocky must do something to protect them. He could not just stay here and do nothing.

Therefore, he chose to ignore the beasts that were chasing them and rushed all the way to the entrance of the lair. About half an hour later, Rocky and the others were approaching the entrance. The

moment that they exited the lair, they saw corpses scattered on the ground and many injured people whining in pain.

Four guard teams were battling it out with some beasts while the Nether Dragon King fought against several high-grade Spiritual Emperors.

It seemed that after the Nether Dragon King found that it was difficult to kill Rocky and the other Godly Geniuses, it had taken some beasts out of the lair to kill all the members of the Shura Race that were present.

"Stay here and wait for me. I'm going to find Vivian and others and make sure they are okay." Rocky's eyes searched through the groups of people until he saw Vivian fighting against the Nether Dragon King. He wanted Valeria and the others to stay in a safe place until he could figure out a plan.

Wasting no time, he rushed onto the battlefield and headed straight for Vivian.

"You made it out! Is this diabolic beast the Nether Dragon King?" Relief was clear on Vivian's face when she laid her eyes on Rocky. The only reason they were fighting back against the Nether Dragon King and not retreating was because they were worried about the safety of Rocky and the others. Vivian had been trying her best to hold her ground against the powerful enemies.

"Yes. We made it irritated so we can't stay here. You need to take the team and get them out of here right away," Rocky said in an urgent tone.

"Where is Valeria?" Vivian asked.

"She's waiting at the entrance."

"Okay. I'll go and pick her up. By the way, the Nether Dragon King is really powerful. If I take the high- grade Spiritual Emperors and retreat, no one will be able to stop it!" Vivian exclaimed over all the noise.

She had fought with the Nether Dragon King for a long time, so she knew how skilled and tough the beast was.

"I will find a way to distract it. Just go!" Rocky said.

"All right. Just be careful." In the past, Vivian would have not trusted Rocky with the task, but after experiencing many adventures in the Nether Fire Land together, she had no reason to doubt his abilities.

Wasting no time, she rushed to the entrance of the lair to gather Valeria and the others.

When they saw the other Godly Geniuses exiting the lair, Jordy and the other high-grade Spiritual Emperors expected to see their own Godly Geniuses coming. Therefore, their will to fight lessened. Before long, they were all retreating, leaving Rocky alone to face the Nether Dragon King.

In order to grab the Nether Dragon King's attention, Rocky shouted, "Stop it!"

The Nether Dragon King spun around to search for the source of the yell and saw Rocky. Immediately, a deep growl rumbled in its throat. It was remembering that Rocky was the guy who had ruined its plan.

"Go back to your lair. Don't kill anyone else!" Rocky persuaded.

Obviously, the Nether Dragon King turned its nose up at Rocky's words. When Rocky had finished talking, it shot waves of flames towards him.

Rocky leapt to the side, but the Nether Dragon King did not intend to let him go that easily. It started launching one attack after the other.

It only took a few minutes to successfully attract the Nether Dragon King's attention. By that time, Vivian had collected Valeria and the others and smoothly brought them back to the joint guard team.

She was surprised to see that Gloria was with them, but she did not have time to ask questions. Now, she was worried about Rocky's wellbeing.

Meanwhile, Israel, Quentin, and Drew saw their opportunity to exit the lair. They snuck out one at a time. As they ran to join their guard teams, they looked at Rocky and the Nether Dragon King and they were shocked to see what was happening.

Soon, all the guard teams had retreated to the periphery of the lair and were watching Rocky and Nether Dragon King from afar.

"If I'm right, he's the Godly Genius of the Ghost Fief. He's bold to use himself as bait..."

"Yes. He's brave, but this is not a wise move!"

"He should be the weakest out of the nine Godly Geniuses. I don't know if he is strong enough to survive this encounter!"

When they all saw Rocky trying to fight the Nether Dragon King on his own, the Spiritual Emperors of other guard teams all shook their heads. They were sure that Rocky was playing with fire and that his death was imminent.

Rocky knew that he could subdue the Nether Dragon King as long as he wanted to. But he did not want to expose his strength yet, so he chose to distract the Nether Dragon King, hoping it would get tired and surrender.

Unfortunately, the enraged Nether Dragon King had left all of its wits behind and just wanted to see everything destroyed.
