Chapter 1755 Let's Wait And See

"Hey! Maybe there's still hope! Don't give up!" Valeria swiftly encouraged Rocky who stood next to her. If he couldn't qualify for the third round, then they would lose the advantage of competing with the other Godly Geniuses.

On the other hand, Holden took pleasure in Rocky's misfortune when he saw that the latter was likely going to lose this round of the competition.

"Humph! I thought this guy was supposed to be special. Yet he turns out to be just another mediocre man. Let's see if he can still manage to hold his head high on his shoulders once he loses this round!" he snorted.

Hall Leader Chen, who Rocky had offended during an earlier encounter, was gloating alongside Holden.

"He's hopeless! But this is no surprise," Michelle, who had been paying close attention to Rocky, sneered at him as well once she saw that there was no hope in him proceeding to the next round.

At that moment, the elder of the Di Clan announced, "The No. 99 participant is ranked as the 48th."

"It's him! The one whose soul potential was proven to be at the middle grade of the Heaven Stage! His ranking is higher than that of Barron who is from the spiritual race..." someone pointed out and explained immediately.

Meanwhile, Valeria's and Gloria's eyes widened in surprise as well. Of course, the Spiritual Emperors from the human race including Michelle and Holden were shocked as well.

The audience was now in an uproar. No one expected Rocky to rank higher than Barron, a low-grade Spiritual Emperor of the spiritual race who was second only to Michelle and Seth.

"Damn it! How is that possible? His ranking is exceptionally high!" Holden cursed and immediately lost his temper.

Hall Leader Chen was disheartened by the news too.

On the other hand, Michelle's face clearly showed that she was feeling mixed emotions right now despite not saying anything. Rocky's result took her by surprise.

"You've reached such a high ranking!" Valeria exclaimed as she gave Rocky beside her a faint smile, hinting that she was delighted by his result.

"I'm quite lucky," he replied coolly.

"Great! I knew this would happen!" Carla, who was standing by Eunice, commented thoughtfully. She knew from the first moment she laid eyes on Rocky that he was special and that he would undoubtedly provide unexpectedly magnificent performances.

Gloria, who was paying attention to the rankings too, had a meaningful look in her eyes upon hearing the news.

To nobody's surprise, Michelle and Seth occupied the following two rankings.

The rankings of the middle-grade Spiritual Emperors and the high-grade Spiritual Emperors were soon announced.

"The third round will be held after the challenge competition. I hope that all the candidates who will enter the third round will have a good rest and stock up on their energy. You all will need it..." the elder of the Di Clan added after he announced all the rankings before he turned around and left.

The Spiritual Emperors and the onlookers on the square immediately dispersed.

Already, several of them shifted unwelcoming gazes towards Rocky from afar.

The following day, the challenge competition that was temporarily set up officially began.

The reason for this competition was that there were still numerous powerful Spiritual Emperors who didn't have the chance to participate in the Spiritual Emperor Contest. Hence this competition was specially arranged, to fairly determine who would move to the next round.

The rules of the challenge competition were very simple. Two tests would be conducted and the challengers would be ranked according to the number of points they earned. The resulting top three sets of points would be compared to the points of those who had been selected to proceed to the third round. Whoever had the higher number of points would continue to participate in the contest.

To conclude, only three vacancies were available.

But even then, many low-grade and middle-grade Spiritual Emperors from the human race and the spiritual race still joined the challenge competition.

Meanwhile, a Spiritual Emperor who went by the name of Basil was suddenly shot to fame and caught the attention of numerous onlookers all throughout the challenge competition. A rumor which stated that he was from the Sky-suppressing School and that he was friends with Carla and Moore spread like wildfire. At that moment, many spectators in the strength test area eyed Rocky in shock as they witnessed him crack and pulverize a two-thousand-pound Strength Testing Stone.

It turned out that Rocky changed his identity from Godly Genius to Basil. He no longer had to hide his identity.

Rocky's sudden participation in the challenge competition as Basil naturally took some of the Spiritual Emperors who knew Basil by surprise. Carla immediately took Eunice aside and headed towards the test area Rocky was in. She didn't look for him but, instead, silently watched him compete.

Eunice already knew he would appear as Basil, but she continued to pretend she was unaware of this.

"He finally appeared. He's still alive!" Eunice pouted, pretending to be furious.

"He seems to have changed a lot!" Carla noticed. She looked calm observing him, but her heart and the emotions within it were anything but.

"I don't think so! Perhaps you feel this way because you care about him deeply," Eunice pointed out as she stared at Carla. She was aware that the latter had feelings for Rocky. Although Carla never showed it, Eunice could tell from her behavior that she missed him dearly.

"Don't talk nonsense!" Carla's face turned red with embarrassment.

"By the way, let's go talk to him once he's finished with these tests," Eunice proposed. She knew Carla would want to.
