Chapter 1778 Not A Human

Chapter 1778 Not A Human

At that moment, Rocky was quietly observing the enchanted barrier. He peeped at it with his sharp, spiritual eyes before he discovered something wrong. It turned out that the enchanted barrier wasn't just a single layer but was made up of three layers. This would make it difficult for people to observe what the internal structure looked like. No wonder Seth and the others were unable to see what laid behind it.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere outside the Holy Heaven Palace was vibrant and lively. The representatives of all the forces were mingling with each other in whispers and marveling at the progress of the test.

Most of them didn't know much about the Holy Heaven Palace. They had only heard of it and were oblivious to how enchantingly mysterious it truly was. Although they weren't allowed to personally explore it, they all remained in awe of the Holy Heaven Palace.

At that moment news of Rocky, Seth, and the other candidates being trapped in front of the cave's enchanted barrier reached the outside.

Elder Jerome, the team leader of the Wanling Clan, questioned the acting chief of the Di Clan immediately. "With all due respect, sir, this enchanted barrier shouldn't be easy to break through, right? If other candidates are unable to do so, then it might be possible. But our young master is quite skilled at dealing with enchanted barriers such as this one. How could he not break through it?" he asked.

"It would naturally be easy for him to do so if it was an ordinary enchanted barrier. But the one they are faced with at the moment is built with three layers of a powerful, ancient force. Taking it down with ordinary skills will be no easy feat," Colton calmly explained to Elder Jerome. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Three layers? I've never heard of such an enchanted barrier before!" Soon, a few of the representatives present were also surprised by the news.

"I know its existence from our former chief. I'm sorry but I am refrained from sharing too much about it. What I can reveal to you is that this three-layer enchanted barrier can be traced back to the era of the creation of the Shura Race. I'm afraid even I may have difficulty breaking through it..." Colton revealed to everyone present.

Everyone became more respectful upon hearing this. If what Colton said was true, then it was no wonder why the Shura Race was so powerful.

They were shocked to hear that even a peak Spiritual Emperor like Colton couldn't break the enchanted barrier. This meant that there were probably few to even none in the entire Ethereal Region who could!

On the other hand, Rocky was able to find a way to break the three-layer enchanted barrier after careful observation and analysis. His plan was to break the first layer with the Potent Force Rune to destroy the balance of the enchanted barrier. Then, he would break the barrier from the inside with according techniques.

As a matter of fact, Gilbert had given Rocky five more Potent Force Runes privately before leaving the Ghost Fief.

"Look, Young Master Seth. This guy has been staring at the enchanted barrier for quite a while. Is he confident that he'll break it?" a Spiritual Emperor of the spiritual race sneered once he noticed Rocky studying the three-layered enchanted barrier before them.

"Him? Even I couldn't break it, who does he think he is? He's nobody!" Seth spat disdainfully. He was notoriously arrogant and looked down on all the Spiritual Emperors of the human race.

"Yeah, you're right. Who does he think he is? He's nobody!" the other candidates of the spiritual race echoed.

They all agreed that if even Seth couldn't break the enchanted barrier, then it would be impossible for Rocky to get past it.

But at that moment, Rocky calmly declared, "It's not difficult at all."

Seth and the others were dumbfounded and rendered speechless at his words.

"Are you kidding me? How exactly do you plan on cracking it?" Seth asked with contempt.

However, Rocky just ignored him and didn't bother himself to explain himself. Instead, he merely walked straight to the enchanted barrier and then reached out his hand to touch it.

"Is this guy crazy? He just went straight to the enchanted barrier and touched it! There's no doubt he'll be devoured by its power! Nothing but dire consequences await him!"

"He deserves it! Maybe it will be to our advantage somehow..."

The candidates of the spiritual race continued to gossip and wait for the drama to stir up and unfold.

But to their surprise, the enchanted barrier's power did not resist or fight back at Rocky's touch.

"Of course!" Rocky said to himself casually. In fact, he suspected that this power was familiar to him when he first laid eyes on the barrier. It turned out to be no different from the one constructed by the Shura Race. The only main difference was the number of layers.

What made the Shura Race's enchanted barrier unique was that it didn't harm anyone who had no intention of attacking it. It only fought back once it sensed someone was about to hit it.

Rocky took back his hand and quickly took out a Potent Force Rune. He then passed through the enchanted barrier swiftly, giving the illusion that he disappeared instantly from where he stood earlier.

Seth and the others didn't know what Rocky intended to do. They all stood still and waited in anticipation.

Without warning, the center of the enchanted barrier flashed with a blinding, dazzling spiritual light. A powerful force was on the verge of bursting from within it.

Seth and the others sensed that something terrible was about to happen. But before they could collect themselves, a deafening bang erupted. Meanwhile, a powerful shockwave sprang forth from within the enchanted barrier and swept through a distance of around ten meters. Rubble instantly flew everywhere and thick dust hovered in the air.

Seth and the others didn't have time to dodge which resulted in them covered in dust and their hair disheveled.

Then, Rocky reappeared. He glanced at Seth and the others before he quickly employed the enchanted barrier technique to break the unbalanced interior of the barrier.

"Humph, he's just trying to make himself look good in front of everyone. If he does break through the barrier, then I will..." Seth began to scold. He was clearly still in denial that Rocky was strong enough to get past the enchanted barrier.

But before he could finish his words, the enchanted barrier before Rocky suddenly flickered, the once strong aura it emitted now beginning to wane.

A moment later, Seth and the others witnessed the enchanted barrier's glow become dimmer with each passing second. The barrier, which they were unable to break through before no matter how hard they tried, eventually disappeared.

Everyone's jaw dropped in shock and all found themselves speechless. What had just happened was totally unexpected.

Once they were able to calm down and collect themselves, Rocky had already disappeared.

"This guy is going to be a problem! He's a compelling opponent!" Seth murmured with cold, gloomy eyes.

Meanwhile, the news of Rocky's accomplishment swiftly reached outside the Holy Heaven Palace.

The representatives were blown away by such a remarkable feat. Even a powerful Spiritual Emperor like Colton couldn't accomplish this. Now, a low-grade Spiritual Emperor had done it. This was unheard of.

After Rocky successfully broke the enchanted barrier, he entered the cave that was right behind it. As soon as he set foot inside, a sharp, small weapon emitting a cold light suddenly whizzed out from a corner and headed straight for him, aiming for his vital organ.

Rocky narrowed his eyes vigilantly and dodged quickly. Soon, the weapon was nailed to the wall behind him.

"I wonder who's waiting for me here?" Rocky calmly asked as he surveyed his surroundings.

Eventually, a black figure came out from the corner. He emitted a purplish-black smoke all over his body as if he was shrouded in an ink-stained fog. Judging from his aura, he was neither a human nor a member of the spiritual race.
