Chapter 1829 The War

"By the way, what have you gained from your trip to the spiritual race, Chief Colton?" Rocky asked immediately, eager to hear what the chief would say.

"Obviously they don't want to join hands with us in a fight against the Shura Race. Humph, I reckon it's because the Shura Race is only sending their troops to the human race, so the spiritual race doesn't see the need to preemptively participate in the war." Colton breathed a troubled sigh.

"That's just as I expected. Have you made preparations for the war?" Rocky asked.

"Then who will be the commander in chief of our human army this time?" Rocky asked again.

"We haven't settled it yet. Hey, since you're back, why don't you be the commander in chief?" A light bulb went on in Colton's head. In his eyes, there was no one more suitable than Rocky to lead the human race through war.

"I'll take a pass on that one. I'm more suited to be a hero behind the scenes. I don't want to be the commander in chief. I'm actually planning to form an army of my own," Rocky revealed a plan of his own.

"Your own army?" Colton glanced at Rocky in confusion.

"That's right. I have two reasons why I came back this time. One is to help the human race fight against the Shura Race, and the other is to destroy Prince Zain's plan. As long as he fails his mission to defeat the human race, he won't be qualified to inherit the title of king of the Shura Race," Rocky explained.

He then ordered some members of the Di Clan to take Rocky and Esteban into a wing house to rest while Eunice returned to her place.

Rocky spent the next few days coming up with a plan for his independent army according to the distribution of troops in the front line.

After getting the list of names from Rocky, Colton wasted no time recruiting the Spiritual Emperors. Among the notable names were Michelle, Carla, Lilith, and Moore, all of whom stood out during the Spiritual Emperor Contest.

The Spiritual Emperors arrived at the Di Clan one after another without knowing why they were summoned.

When everyone finally arrived, Colton asked them to gather at the training ground.

"Spiritual Emperors, you must be wondering why I summoned you here," Colton said as he looked around the Spiritual Emperors.

"Does Chief Colton have any special task for us?" a Spiritual Emperor asked his companion in a low voice.

"Maybe he wants one of us to lead the army."

"Maybe he'll choose the commander in chief from us!"

Each Spiritual Emperor made their own speculation.

"Truth be told, I wasn't the one who called you here, he is." With that, Colton shifted his gaze to the side, signaling to the others to do the same.

Soon, Rocky appeared in front of the Spiritual Emperors along with Eunice.

"It's him!" The Spiritual Emperors' eyes grew big in surprise. After the fight against Israel at the peak of the Boundless Mountain, Rocky had disappeared without a trace, without anyone knowing where he had gone.

"I'll come straight to the point. I summoned you here not for any other reason, but for the hope that you would lend me your strength and help us repel the invasion of the Shura Race." Rocky didn't beat around the bush.

"Chief Colton, if you were the one who said it, I would have no second thoughts offering my service to you. But if it's him, then I'm sorry, but I won't accept it," Holden said unhappily. It was obvious that he wasn't fond of Rocky.

"Why?" Colton immediately asked Holden.

"That's right. It's impossible for us to work under him." Some Spiritual Emperors who were older than Rocky also voiced out their concern.

"Calm down, everyone. I believe Basil is more qualified to be a leader than any of you are. If it weren't for him, the human race wouldn't have been able to defeat the spiritual race back then," Colton said as he raised his right hand to silence the Spiritual Emperors.

"Chief Colton, what do you mean?" Michelle asked immediately. Although she understood what Colton meant, she couldn't believe it.

"To put it simply, Basil was the one who helped the human race win the war against the spiritual race. Only a handful of people know this," Colton reiterated.

The Spiritual Emperors looked at each other in disbelief. Who would have thought that Rocky was the great hero of the human race?

"I trust him with my life!" Colton said with certainty.

"Chief Colton, even so, at least let us know the plan against the Shura Race!" another Spiritual Emperor suggested.

Colton cast a glance at Rocky.

"That plan is currently confidential. I'm not forcing you to join me; you're free to leave anytime if you don't want to stay," Rocky answered as he waved he hand.

The Spiritual Emperors once again looked at each other as they tried to figure out what to do. There must be another reason why Colton trusted him so much. With a war pending to start at any moment, all of them were eager to help the human race. What was more, if they helped win the war, their prestige in the Ethereal Region would surely improve.
